Yeah I don't clean mine very often either. That's one of the best things about the a400, it just keeps working even when neglected. Glad you found the video helpful.
Hi, I just bought the a400 Xtreme plus, but I am having so much issue with the mag cap. It takes so much force to turn, and I wonder if have done something wrong…
I don't think you have done anything wrong. The cap on the a400 only needs a quarter turn to unlock. So unlike a screw on cap that quarter turn is really tight because it has what feels like detent to overcome.
I don't have a video showing it but it is right around the rib on the barrel where the rib connects to the barrel. I used this gun this year too for turkeys and got to stay and hunt in 3 states. It hasn't gotten any worse. I have another one that I duck and dove hunt with and it isn't having any issues. I also have a 20 gauge a400 and that isn't having any issues. But this one is so can't really say why. I clean it an wipe it off after I hunt in wet areas or rain so whatever is the problem is a problem with this one gun. Thanks for watching. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@southeastwhitetails I have one that’s not a year old yet and has some missing right above the serial number above the trigger on the side of the gun. You think it’s worth calling Beretta?
Depends on how much it bothers you. If it gets worse I might call them. I won't let it keep me out of the woods so it will have to be in the off season for me.
I cleaned mine and then it didn't have enough power to cycle a round and it jammed often on my last shoot. It was the same shell I used before I cleaned it and it was fine. Did I under lube it??
Did you get oil inside the gas piston? That should be clean and dry. Very very important. Edit: In fact this gun should run even of it is dry, not that I recommend that.
@@southeastwhitetails I felt like I left it too dry, but I'm a n00b. I'm not getting light primer strikes. It's more the feed where sometimes the shell won't pop out after firing and sometimes the new shell gets jammed up as it tries to feed in. I'll take it to the range and get some help. I'll report back.
