I have a Beretta APX cal. .40 full size and my experience with it has been 100% satisfactory. In the armory they obviously offered me Glock but I opted for Beretta APX not only for its slightly lower price than Glock but also for its reliability since Beretta is an arms company with a long tradition and unquestionable quality. I recommend 100% to Beretta APX whether in 9mm or .40 S&W
@@angrychilimango630 After 1 year and 4 months I did not change my mind. Impressively good gun. With each new bullet fired, I love that gun more and more.
I love my Beretta Apex it's well shooting gun I have had no failures in 600 rounds I enjoy shooting it it fits my hands well looking to get the compact version stay safe
This is my first gun. I finally signed up to a basic handgun course and let loose. I've only run about 130 rounds through it so far. I've had 1 failure, a double feed that was due to ammunition, not the gun as the spent casing flared a bit too much and jammed just enough so the extractor couldn't pull it out. All I can say is I'm glad that happened during course and not on my own as I likely wouldn't have known how to deal with it, other than to try to seek help. From the point of view of a novice, this gun is fantastic. It is easy to hold, easy sight capture. The recoil isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I was fully expecting a long trigger pull as in a double action pistol. I was so surprised by the short, crisp pull that I mashed the trigger for the first magazine, sending bullets in a very wide pattern. At least I still hit the paper, I guess. It is accurate. Once I relaxed and actually had a proper grip, I was able to place 17 out of 20 shots (two magazines worth) inside a 3 inch circle. (I know that isn't "great", but considering I've never fired a gun before in my life, I think that's pretty good) Once I pushed the trigger as I squeezed so it went left, the other two I didn't take the time for a proper sight picture so all three were my fault. Cleaning is a breeze as well. I don't use a cleaning kit, just q-tips, patches, and the cleaning rod that came with the gun, along with some clp. As a first gun for a very novice shooter, I really recommend the Beretta APX.
I have the Centurian version of this on layaway right now and can't wait to finally get it. I wanted this for its closeness to full size but with it still being small enough to conceal.
Bout to put either Compact or Full size on layaway @ Georgia Gun Store $325!!! Bass Pro has for $329!!! Is SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEM!?! I'VE BEEN 😳balling them for a while now, are they WORTH IT?!?
Lol in USA guns is very chipper, Guns is 400-500-600 dollars similar like Glock. But in Europe the Beretta APX i paid 800 euros (900$) and Glock 19 gen 5 700 euros (close to 800$). A think its the same quality, but APX definitely better than Glock, for me personally...
I had the opportunity to shoot the APX in 9mm and it is one of the most confortable ergos I’ve ever felt...no recoil, great trigger and nice sights. (Front sight may be a little to big but not a biggie!
I LOVE my APX best ergonomics I've felt on a pistol yet, it just fits perfectly in my hand. I wish Beretta comes out with a grip like this for the Centurion when they make spares to sell.
Great sidearm. Minimum recoil which shocked the hell out of me. Nice grip, nice trigger. The safety pin I find a little odd and had the same battery issues caused by my thumb. Excellent buy.
Bought it a week ago, great ergos , soft recoil, need to practice with it . I shoot mostly Glocks and I did notice a huge difference in feel. Great gun at a good price, from a standout manufacturer.
@1776 or Bust I really like that gray and black! Mine is all FDE but yours is nice. Awesome gun. I installed the ‘green’ competition striker spring and heavy spring and guide rod (both from Beretta) and the pistol shoots AMAZING. With the ‘green’ competition striker spring, the trigger pull goes down to 4.5 lbs. Thanks for the video and cheers!
I have the compact and it shoots like a fun size gun. I have no idea how someone can find it snappy. I like the trigger also. I love that it’s little take up.
I just bought one of the full-size APXs and am just waiting to pick it up. From the few times I manipulated the trigger in-store, it felt "very" slightly heavy, but a gentleman standing beside me stated that his trigger smoothed out a little after a few hundred rounds, and actually improved in its overall feel. I'm hopeful since I figure that any sidearm that gets as far into the modular handgun contest as it did, has to be a good buy at $329. On top of that, Sportsman's Warehouse holds back on store ammo for gun buyers so that they at least have some fun after buying a new blaster. Gotta love that policy.
Great video and shooting 76!! Love the APX..but I will recommend you try a Beretta PX4 storm full Size or compact..it is the softest shooting 9mm pistol I have ever shot and I own 2.0 compact, P10C, PPQ, Glocks. It is a fantastic pistol, and I find myself going back to it and carrying my compact G model more and more... Definitely shoot one, I can't recommend it enough. Thanks for the great review!👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Just got the Beretta APX. After trying my friend's against a Canik (16rnd I think), a S&W SD9VE, Glock 17, and S&W M&P Compact recently at the range I discovered the APX had the least felt recoil. The felt recoil was even less than what I carry everyday - the S&W Shield 9mm with which I can get good shot groups. Easy to shoot and to rack the slide. 👍
Those things were dirt cheap when first introduced and the came with 8 17 round mags! I was going to buy one till I shot it. Unfortunately it just did not compare well to my 5" Walther PPQ. I just had to pass but it was hard when you considered the 8 mags. I am glad you enjoyed the gun.
I am a 1rst time gun owner at age 50. My choice was the Beretta APX full size. I live in East Texas. By the way I enjoyed your content. I am by no means an expert on shooting, grip position, or ammunition, ect. But I did buy a trigger pull gauge, mine was 5.675 before and after 600 rounds. At 20yrds, my grouping was from the 9 to the center, with a few 8's. I can't wait to shoot again. I haven't shot any other handguns but I think I'm a Beretta APX fan boy-man. anyways great job on the information and the video.
Great video! I just picked up my full size (.40s&w) a few weeks ago. Have not as yet gotten a chance at any range time with it but DID change out the grip handle for the OD Green one. I too really like the overall feel of the firearm and can't wait to get in the range time to check it out. Thank you for a great video.
1776 or Bust thanks for the review. I bought 2 of the centurions and I notice I shoot left with them but that’s me. I need to get the trigger down. I think they are a nice shooter though, one heavy but good recoil.
I had an APX compact and really enjoyed it. Grip ergos are awesome, but I was never really comfortable with it due to the short time I had it. Camparing it to my P320 Subcompact, it made the P320 look small. The slide is just big in general. Recoil impulse is very soft, but not as soft as my M2.0 compact. Taking the FCG out was not horrible, but not as easy at all as the P320. Complete slide dissasembly is way more complicated that the P320. As for the trigger I found it interesting. Very short take up and reset, but it just felt really mechanical to me. In the end I let the APX go. Great gun, but just not for me.
I had all the same thoughts at THE LOOKS. However I love this gun. I have the combat version bc of the threaded barrel and I have the Burris fast fire 3. I since fell in love with it. Great shooting pistol NO recoil haha It's a great gun and would definitely recommend it to others. Can't wait to get the wolf grey grip
Good review. I've got Glocks, CZP10 series and the APX--and I'm looking to add a Steyr to my collection thanks in large measure to your reviews. On balance, the APX is my favorite. The CZ has a slightly better trigger in my book, but the Beretta wins out--for me anyways--thanks to its excellent ergos. Best feeling gun sf polymer that I've shot; fits perfectly in my hand and points more naturally than its competitors--save perhaps the M&P. But the APX trigger is vastly superior to the S&W. Highly recommend. Very underrated.
I own a few CZs and Glocks and cheaper 9mms. I prefer the APX to anything Glock. Feel, pointability, etc. The CZs are superior on both. That said, I love the APX because it works well and I don't fret if I ding it around a bit. It's fast & accurate
I was actually going to get the Steyr L9-A1 but there are no extra magazines available for it in Europe. Therefore it will probably be the Beretta APX. The price is the same but there is much more aftermarket support for Beretta.
I know you think the Beretta and the MP 2.0 are light recoiling flat shooting... try a CZ 75 Shadow 2 or a Sig P320 Legion. Those are flat shooting light recoiling guns the Beretta and the Smith & Wesson are fine guns I know I own them both but they don't even come close to my CZ or sig for low muzzle ride and actual felt recoil. And I know it's a personal preference but the grip angle and the trapezoid sights on the Steyr were terrible for me, I couldn't get rid of it fast enough.
Pretty sure Beretta has announced a 45 version will follow soon. (believe they showed one at this years SHOT)That said I've yet to run across a 40 version. Which is what I would be most interested in. I'm just sorta burnt out on 9mm right now. Now if you forgo the whole "I think its uglier than sin," thing. I'd be open to getting one if the slide didn't have that infernal pin that pops up. The older I and my eyes get the more I lean towards getting red dots on my handguns. But that pin mucks it up and makes the APX a no go. Good review 17. Thumbs up bro. BTW I didn't care for the shooting portion at the beginning. So leaped forward to the table top. :p
I mean I kind of like that first person stuff but anyway from what I've read you can actually mail an RMR and get rid of that pin that's not needed or you can buy one and also there is a 40 in my local gun shop
I'm just not a fan of that at the indoor range. On an open range where you can shift angles and distance, I find it more enjoyable. As for the pin. That's the first I heard of it. I called Beretta Thursday to inquire about a few things between the APX and my Nano . The CS Rep I got was a douche. I was repeatedly told that's how it's designed and that information is proprietary. Called back an hour later. Got what sounded like a 15y/o school girl. She was nicer. But still got. That's how its designed and that information is proprietary. The weight of a recoil spring is propietary?!?!
Hi I have one and common problem not just mine from many people who owned one, the extrator keep popping out. Beretta is aware about the problem but from what the company report they may not do an overhaul fix on the issue, due to the fact it will cost alot of $ and they don't want to do a re-design since it would be cost efficient since it is not a popular seller.
Nice pistol the two-tone is set up perfect that’s the nicest looking APX I love those colours gray with the black slide in the black backstrap awesome one of the nicest pistols out there next to the Smith and Wes and 2.0 what I love about the 2.0 is the holster in theMagazine holster Smith and Wesson got a right there that’s a nice pistol and set up but the problem I don’t understand why all these other hand guns aren’t making up a kit with a holster where are they freaking stupid
I have one ordered from gunbrokers, $343.99, total! That's why I couldn't pass that quality up. Have an SD 9VE, talk about a shitty trigger!! But I like it, I do, trigger and all. U really have to want to pull that trigger, and I'm good with that. I'm not a comp shooter, I come from, here ya go, make it work for you! I'm retired military and I can tell u since 74 when I went in u should seem some of the disasters we used!! Today is like science fiction in the gun world with some of these John wick looking things, just killers, I like though.
I just picked up the APX full size. My store I went to only had that one and the carry. Carry is to small for me. I also have a HK P30L. 150 rounds white box no problem great trigger and recoil is so minimal. I used to have a 92fs which was awesome
I had some money to blow so went to my LGS and wanted something in 9mm......had them pull out a S&W M&P , Apex, and although not stryker a CZ75Bd......didnt care for the trigger on M&P and Apex felt too bulky so I went wit CZ75 Bd and try happy with it. Good job on the video
Ryan Green As eyes age focusing on an iron front sight might not be as easy as it once was. Also for all the reasons a red dot is beneficial on a rifle. The same applies to a pistol. Personally, I see the whole industry moving towards pistols being optics ready from the factory.
Great vid..New subscriber...quick question..apx or hkvp9...I can only have one due to gun laws my country..durability shootability your views on choice..thanks i advance
1776 or Bust I don't think it does. There's another gun channel that tested it and the presenters said something that made me feel like it was a sales pitch more than anything else.
I don't think it's a sales pitch necessarily I think the guns that I have them in already or more efficient than without them for example the Steyr M9 that I run with has been absolutely Unstoppable and I think it has to do with the consistent slide action however good news I will be receiving one for the apx very soon
@@1776orbust I'm looking forward to your review of it. They basically said that they didn't like the gun until they installed the DPM guide rod. I've used them enough to know they don't transform a gun like that. I have one in my Steyr as well, and it works great. I can't say that it worked miracles for it though.
Q. Lawrence yeah I agree it really is more for larger calibers the only thing I've noticed is the slide action seems to be faster due to the compression of the spring which I think makes it more efficient
There will be an apx coming out that already has it milled on it also from what I've read on a form you can actually reduce the size of the plunger so it doesn't protrude out and then mil it
I was thinking you might be able to mill out the plate to accommodate this. You would think they would design around these popular additions. Other than that love the gun and color. Great review as usual.
I had one in my hand and guy was giving me good deal , plus they had the magazine special going , but for me it was just another striker fired gun. Nothing special
Greg Brown gun manufacturers have make models that SELL... Glocks/strikerfire sell so make your version of the top seller... Apx, shield, hi point and ruger all looks like your Glocks... beretta designed the PX4 and Cougars/Stoeger that sold well, so what was the purpose of a square slide, striker pistol when a company has a proven record of da/sa and DOA pistol .... make a Glock copy... they sell
