There are tons and tons of 9mm choices I've been looking at... But the APX just looks fantastic. I quite love the looks, and the ergos are beyond amazing for my hands. I've not felt anything like it. I hope to be buying one in the very near future! Thanks for the video!

Agreed. I love the aesthetics of the APX. Reminds me of a pistol inspired by Jurassic Park or dinosaurs. The ergonomics and grip texture are great as well. Probably one of the most comfortable pistols I've ever held outside of the Walther PPQ, HK VP9, and Steyr A2 MF. The trigger isn't the best, but it's a great stock trigger compared to something like a stock Glock, M&P 2.0, and FN 509 with a short take up and reset. Couple all of this with Beretta's special pricing and I think the APX line is one of the best (if not the best) deal for a premium handgun in the market today. You could find most of the APX lineup at around $300-350 before the great Toilet Paper shortage with Beretta's special pricing. The optics and threaded barrel APX is around $500 as well. You can't beat those prices with Beretta's quality.

Nicely done, thank you. I bought the full size APX last year and loved it. The videos didn't do well because people were afraid to like a different gun. I ended up getting a good offer and sold it. I missed it so bad I bought another one a few weeks ago. I also just grabbed a Compact and what a great carry option it is! I've owned two Sig P320 Compacts and liked them a lot, they just didn't do it for me. I personally think the APX would have been a better option for the Army. Stay tuned on that by the way, the MHS trials could be re-started.

Beretta customer service told me the recoil spring assembly for my APX is good for 25,000 rounds due to the helical design of the assembly. I purchased the heavy rsa assembly from Beretta also,the APX now has just about no felt recoil anymore. I highly recommend this upgrade for the APX. Great video and great presentation. USA prices APX-$482 P320-$499
@seankoester1145

hkp 30ls what does the heavy rsa assembly do for the pistol? Is it made to reduce felt recoil?
@beretta92x93
@beretta92x93 6 лет назад
Sean Koester it is a heavier spring rate to help reduce slide velocity when shooting faster and harder hitting loads,I only shoot 124 grain 9mm,never any 115. The target ammo I use is 124 fmj NATO and it really keeps the muzzle down when shooting NATO or +p ammo. The gun feels like a .380 now.

APX is around $333-399 now with Beretta's special pricing. My father got a full size shipped at $329 and there's still plenty of places online that sells them up to $344-355 with minimal price shopping. Or you can buy one from Beretta's website for $399 if you don't care

Great comparison! I am with you on the modularity of the P320 - it is unusable, it has no added value for the shooter. The APX and the VP9 are the best strikers on the market today.
@Highgear145
@Highgear145 6 лет назад
Plamen Stoychev I don't like your opinion you should change it
@JacksonWalter735
@JacksonWalter735 4 года назад
I agree with the modularity of the full size APX. From my experience, it's mainly to change grip frames or to put a custom APX frame with a different grip texture. It's different for the APX Compact and Centurion though. I mainly carry an APX Compact when I don't want to carry a revolver. I purchased a Centurion grip module and a Centurion mag for under $70. With a 3 minute trigger change into the Centurion grip module, I can have a Glock 19 size pistol for recreational shooting or if I want more capacity. I do think it's a gimmick to an extent because you can always buy larger mags with a filler for the gap like you could for other guns (like a Glock 26 taking Glock 17 mags), but if you originally bought a larger gun, you can't use the smaller mags. A grip module change remedies this as long as the slide and barrel sizes are the same
@tonycaruso2917
@tonycaruso2917 4 года назад
@@JacksonWalter735 so are you recommending a Centurion over the full size? I can't find these anywhere locally so I haven't picked one up and held it. And because I haven't physically compared the two I'm reluctant to order one online.
@JacksonWalter735
@JacksonWalter735 4 года назад
@@tonycaruso2917 For me yes, but it just really depends on what you need your gun for. I never saw a Centurion model in person either. All the gun stores I've been to either have the full size APX, the APX Compact, or the APX Carry. I personally bought the APX Compact because I wanted a gun for conceal carry with more rounds than the single stack 9mms that are more popular. To me a full size APX would have been a little too big unless you're open carrying. I had a full size APX before and gave it to my father-in-law to buy an APX Compact because I wanted a smaller gun. However, I started missing the larger gun for range days or if I wanted more rounds than the 13+1 the APX Compact provided. I decided to give the APX Centurion a try because I can get a better grip with the larger frame and it has a larger capacity without being as big as the full size counterpart. I watched plenty of videos online and read different forums comparing the Glock 19 and APX Compact and found that they had very similar dimensions. Since I already had the APX Compact, I just bought the Centurion Grip frame for $50 and a mag. Buying a new gun is a lot of money and I usually never buy a gun online if I never held or handled it before. However, I took a risk because a grip frame and a mag cost substantially less than buying a new gun. If you need a gun that would be great all around, I would recommend the APX Centurion since it can still be concealed and used for recreational shooting or home defense. With the current pandemic and money being tight, I personally wouldn't buy the APX Centurion without handling it though in case it's too large, you don't like how it shoots, or don't like the ergonomics. I lucked out because I already had the APX Compact and the things I needed to turn that into an APX Centurion costs around $78 so I didn't mind. Thankfully it worked out for me.

I like the fact that the APX is almost half the price of the P320 here in Michigan right now. I don't know how long that'll last, especially since handguns are hard to come by, but I guess we'll see. I can buy a 4.25" APX in FDE for approx $330, but P320's are going for $590 and up in the same area of MI.

Beretta makes insanely robust guns. The M9 average failure rate is 1 every 19,000 rounds. I can assume the APX meets or exceeds that standard. Thats not even mentioning the recoil spring and slide rails.
@JacksonWalter735
@JacksonWalter735 4 года назад
In my opinion if you were to just pick one of these guns and use it exclusively, I would choose the APX. It's cheaper ($329-399), fits most hands without having to buy a new grip module, better trigger, and has less recoil (and is more flat shooting in my opinion.) However, if you're looking to invest into a wider gun ecosystem, the P320 is probably second to Glocks in aftermarket support. Your magazines work with plenty of other Sig guns, there are many aftermarket customizations, and there are a wide variety of accessories made specifically for the P320 (some of the best holster variety and carbine conversion kits.) Can't really go wrong with either guns.

All I need are sights and a holster. I don't need a Gucci gun. The tons of after market bullshit gimmicks don't appeal to me. The APX is a better than the P320.... Plus the gun is about $200 cheaper, and APX mags can be found for under $20.

The Apx is the most simplistic striker fired pistol. If you take the chassis out it’s not as complicated as the p320 and that is also a simple chassis. The ergo’s and the reputation of a 400 + year company price point no brainer

Great video. I have a Glock 23 .40 cal Gen 4 and just got the Beretta full size APX 9mm. I think the reliability of the Glock is unparalleled, and that is huge for me personally. I love the ergonomics of the Beretta though, hands down it's spectacular. I love the design of the slide, I think that gnarly look is cool as fuck and adore that gun as well. My next purchase will be a Sig P220 .45, since I don't like how small most .38 and smaller calibers feel in my hand. Ive always thought the three best brands without question for handguns are Glock, Beretta, and Sig Sauer. I won't even consider Smith & Wesson, because it just doesn't make any sense to me at least to muddy up the waters when I have researched these guns. The Kimber is kind of the Maybach of handguns from what I have learned and though beautiful, the unreliability of those guns kill it for me. I just cannot justify spending a lot of $$$ for a product when it isn't going to be there for me. I have the same issue with cars, watches, etc. Why fuck around with Land Rovers/Jaguars, when Toyotas/Lexus/GMC are a more reliable product and cheaper to boot? Anyway, I am glad I found your video. Great work and well put together. I agree with you: Beretta APX are a unfuckingbelievable badass gun.

APX's sight cut is proprietary to Beretta making aftermarket choices limited to what they put out. Even in 2022 they don't have many options for sights. Also APX's "carry" version isn't fully ambi at all because it has no slide lock/release on the right side of the weapon.

I own both, but my Sig 320 is the X5 legion so not sure comparison is valid. This Sig is just a superb shooter, great trigger, and amazingly accurate right out of the box like a target pistol. Very very close to the Sig P210 target pistol. APX not even in same ballpark but I do enjoy shooting it, as a service pistol.

I gotta say, why in the sweet flying FUCK would anybody clean they gun when it's loaded? I sorta lost it when you said that, funny as hell. God damn well I declare! I love this guy cause he swears a lot. Good review except for no shooting. My choice in the U.S. would be overwhelmingly, the APX because for starters it's at least $150 cheaper than the Sig at my local gun store and online. Roughly $360 at this point. And I was shocked at how bad the slide rails are as far as size on the Sig as opposed to the nice big ones on the APX. Not to mention the full length cocking serrations on the APX, which apparently is either a love it or hate it thing. One thing is damn sure to me though, it's very purposeful and utilitarian looking, cool looking IMO, like it should be in the Army. And the many other glowing reviews on it. Ergonomics, trigger, accuracy, quality, durability. No comparison.

On the APX 9mm series are the frames interchangeable between full size, centurion and compact?
@funkla65
@funkla65 4 года назад
Centurion and Compact are compatible with each other, but not with full size. The dust cover on the smaller frames would leave the recoil spring exposed on the full size slide, but more fundamentally, the recoil spring assembly on the smaller models is larger in diameter than the full size, so the dust covers on the smaller models hang a bit lower.

My dislike of the P320 is not an opinion. It's factual based on the reality that I owned both a P320 Compact and P320 full-size, and both had to be sent back go Sig for extractpr repairs and the drop-fix. I'm 0-2. In 27 years of owning more than a dozen Glocks, I've never had to send one back to Glock. Additionally, my P226, P228, and P220 have never gone back to Sig, either. The P320 is a design that needs further vetting, maturing, and reliability improvements.

Interesting. I've only had my P320C for a few weeks and have shot maybe 100 rounds through it so I'll have to see how it goes but I really like it so far. Thinking about getting an APX Centurion to see how it compares as my range does not carry Beretta models. I do love my new CX4 Storm though as it shoots very smoothly and accurately so I am glad I finally got a 9MM Carbine.

Beretta have been for the longest notorious for being unforgiving if you don't basically have it "squirting" with gun oil to avoid malfunctions. Sig uses very little oil by design so it will work great in the field without caking up with debris from too much oil. Sig is way way more accurate. Sig is just a better gun period. Most people are not happy how the Sig one? Just how would you know? It looks like you're just being biased toward the APX period. Disappointing.
@80sDon
@80sDon 4 года назад
The APX needs about as much oil as any of the other polymer wonders, and the P320 is not "way more accurate..." What are you talking about? Just sounds like you have zero experience with the APX, own a P320, and you're in your feelings about someone not thinking your gun of choice is the best thing ever...
