Beretta DT11 Review: Everything you need to know

I recently did an unboxing of my new shotgun, a Beretta DT11. I gave my initial thoughts and pointed out some points which immediately struck me but said I would come back once I had chance to shoot with it and present my full Beretta DT11 review. Well here it is. I talk through all the main aspects of the gun, discuss the impact on my shooting and how it stack up against the nearest competitors from a value for money point of view, a metric where I think Beretta gets a large thumbs up. I hope you find it helpful!

Once again a good video. The DT 11 is a dream weapon and at home at all international competitions. I have been shooting the 694 for 3 years and am very satisfied with it. DT 11 would be the next leap. What I don't like about the DT 11 is the choice of wood. For the price Beretta charges, a better wood grade should be used.
@Bassingtons

I agree with you and that is why I mentioned it in the VLOG, as I also mentioned, I am very happy with the wood on mine!

Thank you Sir for a well crafted review. I recently sold a Krieghoff Trap Special. In my search for a new trap gun, I found a used DT11 X Trap. You are spot on with your review. A very solid gun and it has a natural feel when swinging it. Much more responsive than the K gun and built very well. You are class act my friend. Keep up the good work !

Hi nice to see that you look really well. The DT a fantastic gun straight out the box I hope you keep going well with it. We never got round to bashing any clays last year when you got better. My son is now in the FUTURE SHOTS ACADEMY with some great instructors. If you get chance try supersporting it's a great discaplin to shoot. Andy and Lewis

I think you might have it backwards with the barrels. The solid mid rib on a Kreighoff is actually to make the barrels lighter. They use thinner metal for the barrels and then einforce it with solid mid rib. The floating barrels are thicker and heavier, hence why they dont need a solid mid rib. It might be different on the Beretta, but i doubt it. Most people do not want the weight at the end of the barrel. They want the weight between their hands.

2:12 Being a happy / content 694 owner I am asking myself why I would need a detachable trigger as the DT11 has and gets its name from? What are the advantages? Is in maintenance or the possibilty to fine tune the trigger?
@mitchwoods5070
@mitchwoods5070 Год назад
@@Bassingtons triggers are NOT mechanical from factory, they are inertia. You can however have them engineered to mechanical triggers by a really good beretta gunsmith.
@fullchoke01
@fullchoke01 Год назад
Detachable trigger guns became popular in competition due to many running v springs- which can pop at any moment so being able to change in time permitted was needed, 99% of clay shooters will never need a gun that detaches and besides mentioned there is zero advantage especially if coil sprung, people just like to think x y or z makes a better gun than a b c

@@Bassingtons thank you for your reply I purchased a 694 after watching your videos, you look the same build as myself I’ve just started shooting clay and really enjoy it. I previously had a zoli z sport with 15” length of pull I wasn’t happy I was being slapped in the cheeck. I’m much more comfortable on the 694 and no cheeck slap and shoot better. Being 6ft 2ins not easy getting the of the shelf gun to fit 😊

Opinion on the K80 vs the DT11?
@Bassingtons
@Bassingtons Год назад
In my opinion the K80 is the superior gun. However it is considerably dearer in price and this is an important factor to take in account, when purchasing one.

@jhr2001
@jhr2001 Год назад
@@blackadder1966 I’m in the same boat, the inventory in the US isn’t what it has been in recent years the dealers tell me. I’m a sporting clays shooter and NSCA Instructor, and I’ve been a Beretta shooter all of my life. Long story short I bought a 694 ACS last year new off the shelf and I can confidently say that it is the most disappointing firearm purchase I have ever made. The gun has had roughly 15k rounds through it and has been meticulously taken care off. The forend split, the trigger shakes, ejectors are hit or miss, etc. Contacted Beretta customer service and they were useless. Currently looking into a K80 Parcours x and a DT11. I demo’d both and I just wasn’t crazy impressed with the DT (yes I know it’s won countless gold medals by the best in the world) when comparing the price to the 694 and to the K80, but it could just be me. I’m just nervous to buy another beretta over and under.

@jhr2001 The importer here is difficult to get in touch with! luckily, someone at the club had a k80 to try today. I liked it apart from the slight step on the rib and it was the flat rib. So the search goes on, blaser f3 so far is my favourite.

a couple o facts not quite correct. First, it is not a boxlock but a trigger plate action and second: bore diameter is 18,6mm

On the GMK website they call it a boxlock, so went with what they said. Also checked that the barrels are bored to 18.7.

Tu parle de l'esthétique du fusil, du bois, que tu l'aimes, etc ... mais au fait il à un bloc de détente à inertie ou mécanique ? Si on ne parles pas de ça, c'est comme choisir une auto pour sa couleur.
