FC brass, GMM primer, 43.5 grains of IMR4064 with Sierra 168 part #2200 matching set at 2.80... pure bliss.

I just got a B-14 in 300 win mag and love it. Tried a handful of factory loads, only liked the Berger 185 gr hybrid. I wish I could afford the wood stock it's very nice.

The heavier bullets have always worked for me in a 30 caliber… 168 Grain is my go to for 308. I’ll bet that’s a bad mamma JAMA in a 300 WinMag! Thanks for taking the time to comment, we will show you how this particular rifle functions out to 400 👍

@@lastminuteman they shoot so good that I would be waisting my breath ,,Mr obvious is a great reloader ,he won’t have any problems with this gun ,,one thing I will say ,,if he ever wants to try a copper bullet ,,get the 135 grainers ,,,you will see why I said this when you try several ,,on copper bullets you need all the speed you can muster up to make down range bullet performance better. ,,,the trade off is ,,no lead in your deer meat. That bullet makes the 3006 almost equal to a seven mag and with reduced recoil,,tell him to seat bullet 50 thousands away from the lands to start

Was thinking these are 24 inch barrels with 30-06. Was wanting a 24" barreled 30-06, and they at them moment quit making stainless weatherby vanguards, so maybe one of these would be a good option too. Too bad Bergara does not do stainless though either. I think the Bergara bolt knobs look goofy.

Everyone has different taste and preferences for sure… Aesthetically speaking, I find the B-14 attractive, and the bolt practical. The older Remington 700 was always one of my favorite looking bolt guns, but they were not the shooters (from the factory) that these B-14’s are. Of course there are exceptions… Thanks for taking the time to comment 👍

I have no experience with 30-06, but it was a great video! I have a question, A guy in the gun club I’m in have a barley used Mossberg MVP Predator 223 for sale for a very good price, what is your opinion on that model? I will use it mostly for target shooting and some hunting.
@lastminuteman
@lastminuteman Год назад
Having never shot a Mossberg MVP, I can only tell you what I have seen in RU-vid reviews, and that is not good opinions… Most guys I’ve watched have stated 3 moa at 100 yards. That is if you trust the review? I can tell you a 223 is very flat shooting, and I cannot imagine anything shooting 3 moa with it. Mossberg has a great reputation for reliability, and with that I’ve never heard of anyone having a malfunction with the firearm. That’s all I have to say about that lol Let me know what you decide on it!

If you are wanting to buy a 223 ,,there are many good choices with one inch groups at 100 yards guaranteed,,,here is a list of some of them ,,CVA cascade,,ruger American,,savage model 111 ,,,this savage can be bought with either a 13 inch length of pull stock or 14,,which no other manufacturer does that ,,,the 13 is needed when you wear a lot of clothes,,,and all tikka have a 14 and a half length of pull which is great if you are six ft three or taller

@@lastminuteman and Bobby Green After reading your oppinions i think i let this gun pass. In Sweden we have another thing to consider when we choose weapons for hunting, and that is that i can only own 4 hunting rifles, and i can get another 2 with some good reasons why i need more rifles. So "wasting" one choise ona gun that might be to my dissapointment is not a opption. Thank you for your input!

@@swedeson6188 it’s also very important to buy guns that actually fit you ,,if you have to wear a lot of clothes there when you hunt ,,a 13 inch length of pull would suit you much better than the standard 14 , you can go buy how tall you are ,,over six feet three inches it won’t matter but if you are 5/11 feet tall ,,or shorter you will definitely like the shorter length of pull. A man’s first rifle for hunting big game should be a 308 or 3006 ,,don’t try to hunt big game with lighter than 165 grain bullets , this is not my opinion, it’s what it takes to dispatch the animal humanely.
@bobbygreen2291
@bobbygreen2291 Год назад
When it comes to a 3006 , I have never been able to get one to shoot bad ,,no matter what I loaded , Mr obvious,, load em to suit your style of hunting and don’t get too particular,,I dare say you never find a bullet that don’t shoot good unless it’s a 150 grain.

I know what your saying friend. the 165 to 180 is the magic bullet for the 308 caliber rifles. 130 and 170 for the 270 caliber and 140 and 170 for the 7mm mag. 100 and 120 gr for the 25-06. I can go on for many other calibers for I have taken so many deer in the past 45 years I know what works. So your right on to, been there and done it LOL. good to here from you friend.

@@Mr.Obvious- yep and for the 243 , no bullets are as accurate as 85 grains , I have a 26 inch stainless bull barrel and it will one hole that weight bullet at 3300 fps,,,45.5grains of h-414..and I moly coat the bullets.
