Considering this rifle for an all purpose hunter. I have a CZ 457lux but it's a bit large. My H&R Sportster is limited being a single shot. Considered a couple Ruger and Savage offerings but i don't feel the quality it's there. Sadly Tikka doesn't chamber for 22mag.
If you're looking for something more compact and lighter than the CZ this Bergara could be a good fit. Nice quality too. Those Tikkas are very nice, my buddy loves his in 308
Were you shooting that far just to see where accuracy falls off ? Past 100 yards the wind really affects 22 mag. How well does your rifle shoot CCI ammo ? Im debating buying this rifle or a CZ American.
Yeah I was trying to see where the accuracy drops and seems to be past 200yds. I tried maxi-mag at 100 and it was good but the Hornady vmax was slightly better and shot flatter. The video was just already too long to put in maxi-mag footage. The CZ American is nice too. Both have different looks, traditional vs tactical, so just comes down to personal preference. Thanks for watching ✌️
i have a ruger american stainless 22 mag,it really likes american speacilty 40gr ammo,it has a a cheap 4-12x40 barska scope, need to upgrade someday,i havent tried over 100yds yet but look forward to.nice vid thanks
The ruger American is a really good rifle. And nothing wrong with Barska if it works for you, I have a few on some budget rifles. I think a 40gr bullet would work much better past 200yds, the 30gr vmax was getting blown around too much. Thanks for watching ✌️
The CZ 512 is a beautiful looking rifle but since it's semi auto, it's kind of like comparing apples and oranges to the BMR. I'd prefer the BMR for it's inherently more accurate action but if I was just plinking around I would go with the 512. Both great rifles though so either one is a winner. Thanks for watching ✌️
@Nikola Milenkovic I wouldn't say many times more but slightly. Bolt actions are generally more accurate because of the lockup the bolt has when in battery. Less moving parts usually means better accuracy.
The action is rough compared to any CZ. I owned the Bergara 14-R and shot 1000s of rounds. Very accurate, but its action needs refinement. This is a problem with all Bergara's rimfires.
