Really though. It started out okay on discovery, but it quickly turned into a drama rather than an adventure. This is way better.

I agree. We got rid of satellite tv years ago so all our channels. I used to watch the show and some was just silly. I always rooted for you Emily and love your show here. Btw, I own a jewelry store in the KC area, and was wondering if anyone finds some good size nuggets they sell. We’ve always made our own, but something natural would be very cool

Hi Em, I live about 10 miles away from where the gold rush started in the late 1800's where the young boy decided to skip church and found a 18lb nugget that they used for a door stop for years before they found out what it was. 💰

First, we (once again) had a great time gang watching this episode. Something that may be worth going into detail on (maybe not in this series, but one of your other videos): the guys went over to the other dredge at one point to help them getting rid of that iceberg. Is this purely a gentlemen's agreement? Since it seems like you're all competing for the same ground of your landlord, what happens for example if you were to accidentally damage the other dredge during such a rescue mission? Are there insurances in place for that? Is that part of the lease contract?

Good questions! It's more of a gentlemen's agreement. We have basic insurance, but mostly we have to trust our crew to make smart decisions. There's no contract in place to do anything for other miners

Y'all are rocking it ,it would appear 🎉very happy for your family and crew. New dredge is awesome and hats off to the fab crew for some great work and ingenuity. I really appreciate Y'all filming these adventures for the rest of us. We came up to Fairbanks in 2003 to check out the state and was blown away by the cost of everything 😳, due to that and severe health issues, we decided it would be best for our budding family to return to North Idaho to raise our boys. Looking forward to returning up there and doing some touring now that we are retired empty nesters. Continued Blessings on Y'all, ❤

Keep the vids coming! but could you do a quickie from everyone on... "What made you all decide to do this?" most people fall into a career when they realize the job they have pays their bills and gives them a lifestyle they can tolerate, but what makes someone go to Nome and suck dirt to find gold when there are clearly some easier things to do to pay your bills? is it the chance of super riches? the love of Alaska and Nome in particular (that is what kept me in Alaska for 20+ years- the love of the state)? anywhoooo, keep up the hard work, stay safe and glta!

Does the topography change from one year to the next? I live on Lake Michigan and beaches appear and disappear overnight. Does it change like that up there too? I'm really enjoying your programming, thanks for giving me the opportunity to help.

Good question! It's really hard to say. I mean we only put eyes on a very small section of the ground each season and the divers are always changing. But I would say the gold doesn't really move dramatically. Once it's gone from an area it's pretty much gone haven't seen it come back in 10 years. It probably re-concentrates over a very long timeframe

If it wind ,putting a pole with sale and a make shift rudder directing the direction way before it is even close! Then remove it when it’s deflected to a different direction. A sail and rudder rig could be the answer.

Nice nugget! I really want to find my own and turn it into something. I used to make jewellry, but working with refined gold isn't the same as seeing it in it's raw form. But I suspect if I ever did find a nice one, the gold bug would probably bite! I get the feeling that's how a lot of miners and prospectors get started with that first nugget.

Thank you for zooming the camera in on the gold, and holding it long enough for my eyes to focus. This is the first time I've seen it in situ as the shows are too far away and too fast. I really want to see more of what you see in the ground. Also, I think 182 oz is a gold rock/boulder 😂, and can you guys tell the difference between 14k, 24k, etc or is than an admix that happens later in the process?

Running a welded aluminum jet boat on a river, hitting rocks at at 20-25 mph multiple times in a day with no leaks from damage. The damage was only scratches and small dents. Pushing an iceberg seems to be a cake walk in comparison to a high speed rock impact. Tell me I’m wrong!
