Like it was said before, if you're hating on these drummers you don't know your hip-hop grooves. Listen to Dilla then get back to me. The drums were sick, perfect for what was going on.
Only thing that I have to say about it, is they started rushing at the end when they picked those eighth hits back up on the hat. Other than that, I can care less.
Haha nah nah.. I can’t imagine any natural drummer saying that about this performance. They even looked like they didn’t care. It was off time and just low effort. That’s not how you shed.. I’m not hate’n but I mean if you playing for the rest and not yourself thennnn 🤷♂️.. opinions kind of matter. It ruined the groove. They are probably fire drummers tho which is why they felt it was ok to slack haha
The first dude just plain shines! I'm sure the second dude would in this video as well if the drummers had timing n' actually gave a shit about the groove. God I wanna smack him off the set... Badass none the less!
A lot of people that do nothing but read sheet music do not understand what a shed is about.Wwhat it means to communicate with others by feel..what it means to improvise..what it means to use a clean bathroom and leave the bathroom a little bit cleaner than it was before....(???)

He was playing notes that was not in the scale...Dont usually hear that in bass players but thts something advanced piano players do..Chic Corea Pj Morgan
i think its cause the first bassist is quite well versed in music theory.. he wrote quite a number of polyphonic music like fugues for the bass guitar on his channel! (e.g. angel fugue in E minor)
fendergasm11 jscott is a monster as well I played with him the other day (him and Josh still lurk around Berklee even though they graduated awhile back)
The 1st guy josh is soooo brilliant, he's jus inspired me to get even better, is there anyway I could get in contact with him or get a few lessons or pointers on the bass chords and scales
Am I the only one who's stoked for the guy making the faces? You know you've found your calling when you have that reaction to doing something. Freaking kickass.
Now i knwo that not everyone goes to Berklee is talented. I can name a few from the video. The first guy definitely deserves to be at Berklee. The rest can pack their bags
haventgotoverit lol you came to that conclusion from this video? hahahaha Jscott (the second bass player) is an actual beast. this was taken a few years back. if you've followed J Scott then you would know how good he is.
Damn people don't know what a shed is obviously if they keep asking why there are two drummers. They're also not listening if they're blaming the drummers as well/ Use your ears, listen and learn
I totally agree. Im a drummer and they need to lock in better than that. it was a lack of discipline and musicianship. the bass is what really should've been heard.
I think the reason the drummers never really locked in was because one of them tried to lock in with the bass player while the other one who frankly lacked musicianship blindly kept his own pace and never compensated
I'm sorry, but @ 2:00 this video was over. No doubt the other's are tough, but I couldn't really get to feel or hear the other Bassist, not to mention the drummers mentally left the set.
Danny Brickwell nah... that was just bad timing.. the groove was lost. I’m a drummer and a bassist. It did kind of destroy the feel. But also I think they played like that because the second bassist didn’t try to find the groove he wanted to play behind the beat. They seemed to have let go of the effort
Hats are always irritably loud on cameras that aren't made for recording loud ass drums. The drummer does need to lock in with the bass though but it's a collaboration therefore the bass needs to lock in with the drums too. they got hand in hand. also, why would you tell the drummer to lay down a groove when a bass player is doing a solo, if you do at least ask for one that is barely noticeable :/
The drummers finally got 20secs before the video ended. I am assuming this was a summer camp of some sort so there's room for improvement. They need to be more confident and keep the drive. Can't start to slow down and speed up and slow down messes everyone up
bensou jean Practice... it's all it takes man, and never lose hope and faith in your dream. Stay disciplined and keep your ears and mind open. Best of luck.
