The minute Marcus hits one note in a solo you know it's Marcus. he really showcases his fingerstyle chops and yet he sort of owns this stage in groove, leadership and the solo...da Man!
A lot of people don’t understand how hard those guys been playing all week. They literally been soloing all day at NAMM and does jam sessions at night. I have much respect. My hands wouldn’t make it until Sunday. Lol.
These guys are not some random band that must practice all night before they play something awesome. These are one of the best bassists in the planet earth you are watching. Do they need all night practice for NAMM show???
They're all amazing players but I love how in all these clips Marcus is the one who is the DIRECTOR! Deeply rooted into making everything as musical as possible. Much respect all three of them but especially that!
MARCUS MILLER WAS GIVING FUNDAMENTAL BASEMENT OF THE GROOVE NO NEED MORE HE IS “ THE BASS “ OF THOSE 3 MARVELS players AND AS I LIKE TO SAY NO BASS NO FUNK !!!!
These three are all world class. But as far as combining the sound of the bass from classic fundamental with a completely new, personal sound, Marcus knocks it out of the park
Не знаю почему, но Ричард Бона как по мне просто суперски отыграл! Создаётся такое ощущение, что он просто придумывает какие-то "слова" на ходу и тут же играет эти "слова" на басе) Это очень круто)
@@MartzMimicto the average consumer that's still expensive..eventhough marcus signature 4 string jazz bass is worth at least $1500...but to each his own...marcus is showing the quality of the groove come from the player and not instrument
it's a sin that Bona always repeats the same lick/phrases. instead every time Miller has always somethings new to say with his bass. (love Hadrien too) edit: i'm talking about what I hear in this video and other videos with just solos! they are 3 "different" giants in the bass community. hands down
I wonder what it takes to stand equal to Marcus and Hadrien... Ever listened to Bona's solo work? His narrative and voice are authentic; that's no copy / paste. That's what separates the greats from the good - and why Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Joe Zawinul and many more called on his unique signature style. If his music hasn't given you the conviction he's out there with the greats, have at least a heart and respect to not spit on his courage as an artist.
@@bornnaked01 dear, I didn't "spit on his courage"... I didn't talk about his carrrer, his solo album neither "Bona as artist"; I'm a great fan of Bona's work! I'm just saying that often in videos like this (where he and others play "just" a solo") he used to play a figure/pattern/lick over and over. Calm down
@@Midemabass OFC ^ But even so... I'll push the argment as far as respecting boy bands, teen artists, mumble rappers, etc. producing oversimplified popular music - even tho I wouldn't touch their music with a barge pole. Bc it takes much (MUCH!) more than just musicianship to make it out there. Now imagine depending on just that... So I made it a pact with myself to never comment negatively on what I dislike; but only what I like. To each their own ofc.
