Note: The start was delayed by almost 5 seconds, because the top star of the event Daniel Ebenyo (KEN) arrived not in time. This caused some confusion for an otherwise fairly controlled start procedure. By a technical mistake, the audio track for the starting sequence was shifted relative to the video track. This gives the impression that the runners started clearly later after the horn signal was fired. This, however, was not the case. We apologize for this failure, the deficit will not be corrected in an updated video. The final times, compring a new world lead of 28:00 by Samuel Fitwi (GER), are gun times recorded manually by referees. Inspection of times via various video streams fully confirmed the offical results.
