What a fascinating video thanks for making it! Really helpful to hear your insights. Very impressed with your time and position. I thought the spectators were great and they provided good motivation when my legs were empty. Are you skating in the Parisian marathon?

In your training (solo) what average pace would translate to 42km/h on a race day with drafting? I wish there was this quality of video about the sport 15+ years ago! Chapeau, young man.

thank you for the comment. i train at about 30km/h to 35km/h max for 1 hour at the moment and it' enought to follow in berlin the main pack at 42km/h ...only if your pack skills at good. it's the most important in this kind of situation.

PIPE 86 thanks for thé nice word... for marathon 3x125 are way faster it keep speed way easier in a big group ... but your grip feeling is limited cause one wheels less so it require lot of attention and slower timing more like on the ice

it's happening when he get to much draft and arrive then with more speed...so he put his hand on the back of the skater in front to push him a bit...and to feel exactly the distance cause most of the time at the moment skater look far in front also to see what is going on...so the hand help to feel how to follow the right step

Très intéressant d'avoir la "stratégie de course". Je me rend compte qu'à surveiller à gauche ou à droite les autres patineurs on ne regarde pas trop le paysage tellement en alerte sur les faits et geste des uns et des autres. Un tit compteur vitesse présent serait pas mal pour un peu plus s'imprégner de la vitesse ;) en tout cas merci pour ce partage ;)

salut, oui le compteur de vitesse viendra quand je pourrais investir dans une gopro^^ ... je m 'équipe doucement mais sûrement

humm y a moyen de se débrouiller avec une trace GPS en utilisant par exemple le logiciel d'édition de Garmin (Virb edit) qui permet (celui de gopro le fait peut être aussi) sur une vidéo de mettre les données de la trace GPS même si celle-ci ne vient pas d'une caméra ;). Avant que la gopro est le gps intégré certain utilisateur de gopro utilisaient le logiciel de garmin pour mettre la vitesse (et autre) sur leur vidéo ;) pour info ^^

oui j'ai bien étudié les différentes solutions...le plus simple et le plus rapide reste la gopro5 minimum...que j'achète un garmin et que je le mette sur la carte ou quej'achète une Gopro...autant aller direct sur la gopro^^

J'ai peut être du mal me faire comprendre, la trace GPS de la vidéo qui nous montre la position via le smiley, je suppose que ca vient d'un GPS extérieur. Il est donc possible via les logiciels d'incorporer ses données dans la vidéo sans avoir rien à investir de plus pour le moment en attendant bien plus tard ^^. Un site qui donne la procédure pour illustrer mon exemple que ca soit un peu plus concret en compréhension : 20-100-video.blogspot.fr/2014/05/comment-incruster-des-jauges-sur-une.html. C'est de la bidouille mais ca peut faire office en attendant. ;) Bon sinon j'ai hâte de voir celle de Paris ^^.

ahah non en fait le smiley vient pas d'un GPS...j'ai créer son déplacement sur la carte avec des keyframes au montage....en fonction de la ou je suis sur le parcours^^...donc pas d'info GPS réel ...

5x80 or 5x84mm were also really cool you know...edge to edge feeling and pressure during the push gave great feeling back in the days^^

Yeah I know, but I have much better feeling with this bigger wheels. Before you could do something with the poor technique and strength+stamina, now days you can do a lot more with decent technique and less stamina. Averages have gone up and I love it.

What is your observation of the ratio between 3wheel and 4wheel setups? Seems like 3wheels setups are dominat but its hard to see via video.

it seems like 9 out of 10 use the tri setup nowadays, 125mm

Wow 9 out of 10 is amazing, who would have thought that 125mm could be such a "game changer". Saw a picture of a 150mm setup. might be something we will see in the future at least for tall skaters.

Yes few people are a bit uncomfortable when they are beginner and have a lack of stability… but as soon as they progress being in a pack is a great feeling

Bonjour Pascal, je trouve regrettable que tu ne commentes pas ta vidéo en français ou au moins avoir les sous titre français. Tous les patineurs Français ne parlent pas couramment l'anglais. Tes conseils sont si précieux dans ce genre de course. Belle course, félicitations.

Salut Julien, faut juste me laisser le temps de faire les sous titres^^... sur Facebook j'avais précisé que je les ferai ce weekend...donc un peu de patience...ca prend une heure pour faire les sous titres sur ce genre de vidéo....

pas de soucis^^ en générale je sous titre toujours toutes les vidéos "importantes" ...juste le temps de le faire...la j'ai mis 1h a faire les 20 premieres minutes^^....la suite après...
