This is the amazing story of "Bottle Claus" Henning-Schulke - Eliud Kipchoge's bottle-man during his world record race at the BMW BERLIN MARATHON 2018.
Claus-Henning was an outstanding triathlete himself. As an amateur, he qualified frequently for the Ironman Hawaii which is the world championship of long distance triathlon. And that’s where his dedication comes from. Much respect ✊
@@nativeson1559 i am from antartica and i totally agree. One day he even came here to give me a bottle of beer because it was a Beer Bear Marathon competition on that day
Bottle Claus - super sympathischer Typ, mittlerweile schon seit Jahrzehnten im freiwilligen Helferteam des Berlin-Marathons dabei. Klasse, dass Eliud ihn am nächsten Tag zu sich ins Hotel holt!
You can see his positive energy was being given to Eliud every time he passed the bottle and Eliud noticed and said it helped him win and he wanted him on his team. It doesn’t matter who you are you can make a great difference in this world and it will be noticed.
That's pure passion personified. As a traditional carpenter and designer, I always tell my crew that there is no small work, no small role, and no small task. Everything is equally valuable. Greatness comes with attention to detail. Claus-Henning is an epitome of greatness. An inspiration.
Eliud is such a humble champion. I think he said it best when he said his greatest happiness is when he learns he had inspired others. He has done that and much more..... and bottle Claus exemplifies how we can take such a task and make it awesome!
@@LilyW-in7ou shut the hell up. we are not talking about their backgrounds but rather their character. They are both amazing athletes with big hearts, their upbringings shouldn't matter. So please, just shut the hell up.
@@dbiscoc287 I got you loud and clear. Your comparisons make sense because these are two men who are both considered to be at the top of their specific sport specialties. I don't know why some people read too much into statements to lift out what isn't there to be lifted out.
I watch clips of this marathon all the time when on the treadmill and the "enthusiastic bottle guy" is in a lot of them. I always smile at his enthusiasm and wonder about him. Well, now I know! He's everything I hoped he would be - seems like an awesome person
I love this! My biggest lesson from this is do everything with excellence no matter how small the task may seem and celebrate those achievements. Well done Clause, you legend.👏🙌
I don't think it's a coincidence that Claus is so excited About helping this runner. Eliud is truly a class act and I think being even a small.part of his achievements is a monumental honor. Everybody in this video is just a joy to know about. What a great story.
What ? i thought i am the only making playlist about my heros . My playlist starts like this 1. Johnny Sinns 2. Johnny Sinns 2 3. Johnny Sinns 3 . . . . . . 99999. Eliud Kipchoge 100000. Angela White
Its beyond comparison really ...when you are a runner you know that its actually the most difficult sports. its also the most rewarding one. running with speed of a bicycle for 2 hours straight is just incredible
I think the only other person who understands what's going on in a Kipchoge world record attempt as well as Kipchoge himself is Klaus. I really respect Klaus a lot, what a positive, committed guy.
I love this kind of short documentaries... That make us discover small but amazing thing tha would have not been noticed... But are the things that makes this world beautiful
I'm sure that Bottle Claus' enthusiasm and dedication to his job gave Eliud encouragement too! When you see someone cheering you on and working so hard just to hand you your water bottle, you know you have to make him proud and break that world record!
Look at how excited this man was when he gave him the water. It was as if he was running the race. Claus, you are a fine man. What a great example for the rest of us.
Thx for sharing this story - exiting to see what is happening behind such an achievment and the people that it takes to make it all happen and come together in one moment.
Jeder Champion ist nur so gut wie seine Leute gut sind. Hier sieht man zwei Spezialisten, jeder ein Ass in seinem Fach. Ich habe den Marathon im TV verfolgt. Von beiden eine super Leistung.
What an achievement for this man! I could never keep to this high speed then stopping waiting and then boosting back, Eliud was going average 20.9kmh if I estimate correct. If I was organizer I would give this man a medal for achievement
I thought this was a joke: Bottle Claus is the Santa Claus of races. But he is an actual Claus, wow! Although he is also working his ass off on a specific day of the year, handing gifts and making people happy and inspired... The Santa analogy is still working :)
