My wife just passed this vid to me. It's an incredibly ingenious project and the man deserves an award! My only negative is that the idea of using an mpv as a small camper is so that you have a bed, cooking facilities and a porta potty that can all be packed away quickly so as to get on your way or go exploring in the car..
Fantastic, I think I've seen this video 20 times and I don't get tired of doing so. I know is 4 years old I hope he and his family are enjoying every minute of it. Semper Fi
Wow!!! This is clever build minicamper! A little tricky, to attach anything... but when it´s ready, you´ve got nearly the same space like others in small caravans! Very nice!!!
now that is excellent. I didn't see that coming. For those of you commenting not liking this you dont have to build one. its not for you I think he did a great job building it to look somewhat factory. Its not a homegrown horror showing bare plywood, sleeping bags and bungee cords everywhere.
We have an old Berlingo on our small parking stand and which we can't put swivel seats into, so we've discounted it for camping. Never in my wildest dreams could my talented hubby build this!
First I thought this was silly, then by halfway I love it. Well done. Not made for quick getaways, but a great proof of concept. You need to take that to a design house /fabricator, to try and reduce the complexity as you could be on to a winner there.
Familjen is showing us how, with imagination and tools, you can create whatever you want. For a first try (the third try you work out all the kinks) I give it two thumbs WAY up! Thank you for sharing Familjen.
Hah! I was gonna comment that Familjen means ”the family” in Swedish, so it’s the Persson family. Then I saw who wrote it. Hi Paul, I know you from Kirsten’s videos!
It’s a lovely camper. Very well thought out. It’s not something if you’re only going to stay for a night or two. It’s fine if you’re staying for a period of time.
Respect, awesome campervan conversion. Especially for people under 170cm.....:-) When I sleep in my Peugeot Partner I need all the space from the rear door to the steering wheel. I am 189cm (approx. 6´3).
Familjen Persson Hello. I am very intrigued and impressed. Are the slide-outs something you bought off the shelf, hacked, what? Is that a refrigerator on the kitchen side? Thanks and huge congratulations!!
Very interesting set up. It would be great for spending a few days or a week out camping & don't mind doing the setting up. I kind of like it. I think it's a nice idea & you can see the thought & planning put it's design.
This is just freakin awesome! Very well done. Although it would be too much work for me setting it all up, I admire your ideas and the implementation. Absolutely fantastic!
This is awesome, everything including the kitchen sink, lol. U did an amazing job, you’ve thought of everything you’ll need out & about. May take a few min. to set up but for all the options you have I think it’s worth it. If you’re ever on the Oakland, Ca. area & would like to show this in person give me a text maybe you can give me some pointers. I’m knew to the tiny living but am extremely ready for the change. If not then happy safe trails in all your outings. Take care
Am sure this is the same one I saw on a campsite in Wick Scotland a few years back when I was doing the NC500, looked amazing and the owner was a nice guy. very clever set up.
Maybe you could show a real time set-up, because the video is over five minutes and all the cuts in those five minutes make it seem like it takes half an hour or more. The setup is truly brilliant though. I want to do something with my Nissan NV200 which is slightly bigger than the Berlingo, but since I'm a tall man, I can't quite figure out how to get a long enough sleeping surface when the front seats can't be turned around. Your setup shows me a solution for that.
Ou: comment réinventer le camping car... C'est bien pour s'amuser, mais pour utiliser? 2h pour s'installer sur terrain plat et 2h pour replier... s'il ne pleut pas!
Very nice job! However, I feel that the idea of not having to bother with the installation of a tent is being lost, as the installation of all the panels is taking up a fair amount of time. Instead I tow a small caravan behind my Berlingo, which leaves the car free for shopping and trips.
I agree. Too much work. Considering this is all just showing small clips of each step, I wonder if it takes a lot longer than 15 minutes to set up. Try doing that in the rain when you've pulled into a camping ground after a 3-hour drive!
can u leave the link for the hinges u used to attach the other parts of the amazing "house" , if it isnt hinges could u stae what and where the item is build ?im interested ,thank you:)
