A 1980s Remembrance Day Parade (11 November) from a close vantage point by the Birdcage on Front Street.
After the ceremony and the laying of wreaths at the Cenotaph, our parade starts with a "Jam Sandwich" and Police motorcycles escorting the Governor back home to Government House. Lots of faces can be seen in this parade - A marching band leads the Veterans (who), followed by the Bermuda Regiment Marching Band, the Bermuda Regiment, The Bermuda Police, Us Marines? US Coast Guard?, The Bermuda Police Marching Band leading a large number of Officers, The Sea Cadets, more Police, The Bermuda Regiment and The Salvation Army Marching Band?
A look around Hamilton and Pitts Bay Road walking to the Hamilton Princess. The view from the room, overlooking Pitts Bay and the Bay Wing roof with the ship Atlantic arriving in Hamilton Harbor. You get a quick look inside the room.
The view from the Hamiltonian Hotel of St. Johns Church, Saltus Grammar School and the City then its on to Crystal Caves where you can actually see inside the caves! Back to the Princess then its on to St. Georges with a stop at St. Peters and the Deliverance Ship which is sadly no longer with us. A stop in the cedar stocks which also have vanished from the Town Square.
Catching the shuttle bus to Princess Beach at East Whale Bay and the Whaler Inn for some sun and a swim.
Back at the Princess to catch a glass bottom boat cruise to the shipwreck "Vixen" which you can still see today. The fish go wild for the chum and check out the T-Shirt for "Devils Hole" on the top deck.
A horse and carriage is hailed on Pitts Bay Road for a short ride back to the hotel.
