The golf green is coming along nicely. 1/8" HOC without PGR as of yet. I will regulate this before I leave for vacation. I will add Greene Effect 7-0-0 + Microgreene 0-0-2 + Natural Adjuvant to the mix.

I did the exact same thing in my backyard this year. Just put the first pgr down on THU. Looks great! Edit; if I chipped next to a road someone would have a broken windshield!

How cool is this? I knew it would make a great spot for a putting green. My only disappointment, I was sure we were going to see the first hole in one on the new layout!!!! Rolling will make a world of difference. Thanks so much for bringing us along.

Fantastic job! To recap, what is the height of cut, and do you need a “greens mower” to cut it this low or could I do this with a California Trimmer reel mower? Lastly, did the Tiff Tuff end up working out enough, or are you needing to do the bent grass or other? My Bermuda is Tifway 419 and I have mine to about 0.4” and haven’t been able to get much lower without scalp city. I did all the sand leveling a few times too.

Just came back from Florida and played a gorgeous par 3 course that was paspalum from tee thru the green. Have you experimented with that grass at all?

How do you combine regulating and grooming? I found that grass doesn't grow so fast after regulation, so how does your grass heal after regulation?

That depends on how aggressive you are going at it. Primo is a late stage Gibberellic inhibitor. Plant will go through all the other metabolic processes, but leaf elongation will be shorter as well as the internodal length. If you are going to do anything super aggressive and need that leaf tissue to recover faster then use the natural rebound that occurs when the turf comes out of regulation. As it has all those root reserve it will put on faster than normal growth immediately following the period when the regulation wears off

@@samuelasamoah6906 if it is light enough that you are not needing the leaves to recover a lot or quickly. Normally I will just time the grooming, aeration or topdressing to coincide with the Primo wearing off. That should give you about a week window to get the recovery you need and get it back under regulation. Calendar days are usually sufficient, but Growing Degree days are more accurate

Very nice Pete!!! Maybe you'll have to look for a used JD, Toro, or Jac golf course walk behind mower??? The groomer and roller drum wieght of the machine is probably gonna help you alot. I'm sure you've seen all the other guy's on Utube with thier putting greens. Your flag is perfect!!

I'm just now getting around to seeing this, but man you are right, this is super cool! I've made a video or two on my golf clubs and how I'm getting back into golf, and you are increasing that desire haha. I've been thinking about trying to do something like this on the corner section of our church property, where they have a well and plenty of water and land. Not sure I could do it like Pete, or even do it at all, but you are making me think about trying haha. Very cool man. Very cool. Nice pitch shots too!

DUDE! That's one crazy beautiful green. I've got TifTuf here in Australia, was thinking of doing this, but my Cylinder Mower can only cut down to 7mm. This looks way lower, more dense and I don't think my skills are quite there to make it happen. I don't think I'll try anymore... lol...
