One of the best skits in the series. The confused "What matter does it make", the bit with the tapes, Bernadette Peters acting possessed and running with it, and "a little bit of her knee", which all but destroys Carol. This was one for the books.

This is literally one of my favorite skits. Probably one of my favorite moments is “is that supposed to frighten me? Well it does- WAAAaAaAAaaaHHhhhHh” 😂 kills me every time!!!

This was Bernadette's most classic performance. We've often repeated "the cure by goodness" theme in our family, updated to modern times. Because"a branch from the Christmas tree of the King Family" wouldn't be understood these days

@@simone222 back then a network featured the "King Family Christmas Special" every year. They were marketed as the ideal of a wholesome family. We didn't see them featured during the rest of the year and, for all I know, they could have switched out actors as family members from year to year. Nobody would have noticed. ;)

Carolline Burnett is a sweet actress who plays Maureen Clayton just like Ellen Burstyn's role of Christine Macneil. The Mad Engineer's name from Hey Arnold ep. "haunted train" episode is Rudolph Engstrom.

The Exorcist freaked out my parents so much, they wouldn't even let me watch this skit when it first aired. I remember them coming home from the theater and I sensed they were freaked out. My babysitter laughed at them. My babysitter, btw, went on to become a nun.

Heh... I had the exact opposite reaction when I first saw The Exorcist. I laughed my rear off! Hollywood's so over the top when it tries to tackle paranormal tie ins with religion and such. The only other film I've seen that was "serious" that I almost matched laughter with was "Goodfellas." The first time I saw that film I just found it hilarious. Since then, I've laughed at Scarface (the 1983 version). It's a genuinely bad film with atrocious overacting and even worse accents! Might have made a great sketch on Carol Burnett!

Very funny! Bernadette is priceless! 7:40 Chicago has almost no east side. East of Chicago is mostly Lake Michigan! I don't know if they intended that as a joke or not.
