All due respect to Smokin' Joe where you could make a case. My tiebreaker would be that B-HOP was BORN and raised here. Smokin' Joe is all Philly but he was born in South Carolina and came here as a teen.
jjayphilly yea, but joe frazier learned to box in philly by getting the shit kicked outta him by 2 middleweight brothers. frazier is a classic Philadelphia fighting system boxer.
This is probably top 5 interview for the breakfast club. I was able to take notes and learn from this and apply it to current situations I'm going through
I love B-Hop, but he sound like a hater against Floyd during this interview. B-Hop is not in those negotiation rooms with Floyd, thats why he never sees him do deals. I guarantee Floyd arrogant self is not sitting silent on those negotiation deals.
unirave Does't mean hes in those meetings. Not his area otherwise, he wouldve simply said Floyd doesnt negotiate his deals instead of "I never heard or seen Floyd negotiate..." as if hes not there.
Jason Voorhees y’all can’t get over the way he talks if you listen to the words he’s saying it’s actually good info for fighters who want to become businessmen
This man is speaking knowledge and wisdom. I shut my mouth and listen. He’s 52 in this interview and looks like he’s 38. Smh. These are the type of men I look up to. He’s a living legend, a great businessman, and a martial arts genius. I’m all in.
I would love to see Bernard Hopkins graduate from college with a degree in English. But all joking aside, this man really had my respect b/c he is so disciplined and focused.
I am 41 and I box very well at the lower divisions. They sell us that age thing. All you need is Discipline. I don't do alcohol or cigarettes, no clubbing, no junk food, always working out, no artificial things or anything food in a pack. Though in Africa our food and body make up is different, our water is natural, some of us have amazing genetics. When u see me you would never agree I am up to 40
I used to detail his and his wife's car. Wilmington Delaware at Prices Corner car wash one of the most humble individuals I have ever met. He talk to me like he knew me my whole life! a good soul and in my mind the greatest fighter to ever live I salute you brother✊💯🙏
i love how he didnt make himself look like a sucker for getting knocked out the ring. he took that one like a man and kept going forward and kept it positive. no rounda rousey shit lol
He is one of the best businessmen after boxing. Floyd Mayweather has a lot of business he's involved in that Al Haymon has made sure he will always be a rich man. I appreciate boxers who listen to another savvy business person.
5:48 - LMFAO This dude is a character. hahahaha. Would love to hang out with him one day. Dude looks like he's really ethical, though. I respect him for that.
This has to be the best interview yet. Other than Boyce Watkins but I relate to this one so much more. thanks y'all for what y'all do and the risk y'all take with letting the truth be unfiltered
Best interview of the year so far. That's a million dollar dude giving somewhat of a guide. But when I think about sports I always think about the invisible man by Ellison .
"Don't always...Never always..." OK, BHop. Bernard's my man, but his problem is he loves to hear himself talk, and he should sit down and listen to himself on tape some time. He's the man, but he's not as smart as he thinks he is. Naazim had one of the best quotes in an interview right after BHOP got KO'd.
Why do black folks always down talk other black folks. Like Bernard could've said he is a good business man with out down talking Floyd. Part of being a businessman is hiring the right people and outsourcing as many things as possible. Bernard doesn't get that concept. Just do you get your money with out down talking other black men or women.
Trane SFC Floyd is a better boxer than Hopkins ever was. Maybe not in a street fight. But that's besides the point, they discussing business and money here. Hopkins is not worth nearly as much as Floyd because Floyd makes better business decisions. I don't understand what Hopkins gets out of focusing on the only black man making real money in the sport. Lets support each other instead of always working to tear down one another.
Bernard Hopkins remind me of my uncle cause i love to hear them talk cause with my uncle since i could remember i could never get a word in so i was forced to just listen to him talk and thats how i became a better listener # selah
I didn't know he was as informed as he is. a guy from prison most had counted out. a black felon sending his daughter to collages. how can you hate on that. this man knows his boxing. great interview.
Man don't hate on Yee, she's the only female interviewing men. She has to add her comments or what is she there for? She's cool, everyone just need to chill. Her background is hip hop so let's just chill.
As a boxing fan I have to say that watching B-Hop still boxing in his 50's is like getting the bike you wanted as a kid at 35.. I'm over it that time has passed.
Marine Vet you never had that fighting fire burn in your soul. Boxing is life, you never lose the itch. We are insane, that's why we fight. U wouldn't understand
Hold on, Now I'm a B-Hop fan but he is being a hypocrite. Floyd owns his companies and partners with Al Haymon. Has Leonard Ellerbe and others handling his business. When you are at the helm of you empire you put people in place to handle those deals. B-hop on the other hand is a pawn in Oscar De La Hoya's game with a smal 5% interest in Golden Boy promotions. So of course YOU got to work for your moolah, you're a shooter; When you at the top you just sit back like the Ruler. (BARS)
