Please enjoy the 'King Of Comedy' Bernard Manning in one of his very best shows! Don't forget to check out the remaining parts of the show in my videos!
His timing was spot on...bernard you were.just brilliant. never thought you were, just took the piss out of all of us which is what comedy is all about
I had the pleasure of visiting The Embassy in the early 90's. True gent was Mr Manning. RIP Bernard, gone, but never forgotten. Thanks for the memories.
Great sense of humour. You'll never see the likes of Bernard again. World is to prim and proper now. Im glad we have RU-vid to share his memories. RIP and thanks for the laughs Bernard.😂
That makes no sense Comedians have always been funny, it’s kinda their job It all depends on who the joke is aimed at You can joke about anything, but if you are obviously a racist then you deserve to stop, no matter how good you are
Really feel sorry for today's young people, I had the privilege of being able to see the greats, albeit on the telly: Morecambe & Wise,Tommy Cooper,Ken Dodd& of course Bernard Manning. There was also George Roper and others on the 'Comedians' TV show,a golden age,sad at least many of us saw the best .
@@ravenst11 one I recall. Paddy is having a fine good drink in the pub on a Sunday afternoon and in walks his Forman. The Forman looks at him sternly and said “Paddy if you don’t turn up for work tomorrow, then bloody well don’t bother turning up on Tuesday “. Paddy replied “ what a fine gentleman you are sir, I will be seeing you on Wednesday “ I have just retired and my wife asked me to construct a bird table for her. So I did, and she was not happy with it. As She only made fifth place.
I don’t care what anybody says this man was a brilliant comedian the best this country ever produced I grew watch Bernard he could be just as funny even if the jokes where clean he was a family friendly performance and he could do the jokes he dose on dvd and the clubs all rounder comic
That may be because he was of Jewish/Irish descent and did Nazi guard duty after WWII. Bernard was highly intelligent, well-informed and knew what "racist" behavior really meant for those who are expected to tolerate it day in and day out.
This Man was a legend loved him on James Whales Radio Show phoning up Whaleys Radio show when he was out gigging telling a non pc Joke live on air great days Rip Bernard a very funny bloke 👍
Ahh this was the vid I was on...a local football team night out (Witton Albion Northwich Cheshire )...I said I would go as long as I could sit at the back...we were late...peeked around the door....BM..oh come in come in..there are seats at the front..at 25 I was mortified...what a FAB night it was...BM was ace !
A+ comment = you've got it spot on.Comment/humour is sacrosanct. Free speech. "Shocking" is what makes the world go round - makes us think. Brilliant comment
I went and saw my doctors , about my sore & blistered Knob , today . He asked me sympathetically ." Are you using it " Mr Duck " ? ....... I replied . I'm using it has often as Stevie Wonder uses a magnifying glass ........ 😂😂
People talk about comedians being edgy and having quick wit in the modern day. That time was like the Wild West for comedy and by God Bernard had faster delivery than Amazon Prime. I find myself still processing what the setup of the joke was and he’s already made the audience laugh twice. Jimmy Carr has said he wants to teach comedy, make a formula to create it and study it. If anyone’s teaching comedy it should’ve been Bernard bloody Manning. It’s like comparing children’s kung fu instructor to a 200 year old Tibetan monk who’s surpassed the need to fight. Bernard was so funny he didn’t even have to care anymore
Giod bless the big fella a great gag teller its not easy to tell gags like he does. A never used to like him a thought he was a rascist but a was wrong he is not. The documentary showed his true character a kind and pleasant man. Goss bless big man a hope you see your wife again.
There's no one who gave less fucks than Bernard... not Chubbs or even the American Don Rickles lol.. Old Bernard Manning was truly in a league of his own... all the way up to his death!!!!!!!
..another interesting aspect of this archive clip is that he constantly makes jokes about the terrible team he support, Man City, who were struggling in the (old) 2nd division when this was recorded and in fact were to fall even further, to the 3rd division, a few years later. How times change!
