Bernard-Soulier Syndrome (BSS) is an autosomal recessive (AR) disorder characterized by a defective GP1b platelet receptor leading to a problematic platelet adhesion process (primary hemostasis).
Glanzmann Thrombasthenia (GT) is an autosomal recessive defect in the GPIIb/IIIa (GP2b/3a) receptor on the platelet which leads to defective platelet aggregation.
Ristocetin Cofactor Assay (RIPA) is usually abnormal in cases of Bernard-Soulier Syndrome (BSS).
Bleeding time is prolonged, platelets are big in size, but few in number (Macrothrombocytopenia).

Platelet count is one of the lab tests used by a doctor or a hematologist to assess whether your platelet number is normal, low (thrombocytopenia) or high (thrombocytosis).
Bleeding 🩸 time (BT) is another test for platelet function.

Dude youtube adds are a lot then you also put your adds in it :( The videos are perfect a gift from heaven I literally mean it Putting this much adds is a major buzz killer. I understand that you are providing them for free and you have my respect but it gets hard to follow with all this distractions, To me your videos are like a wonderful painting but you put them inside a bad frame(adds) Again I thank you for your hard work and effort you put into this 💙💙❤❤ I try my best to watch the adds and click on them to support your channel and have introduced many friends to it

Sir i have a question?? Pls answer this. Iam 16 years old 5'4 and my dad is 6ft and mom is 5'1 i slow down growing when i was 13 and iam 16 now and i still have not grown thwt much. Can i possibly be a late bloomer?? Any advices you can give?? Thanks alot sir

I came across a question about this but I’m really confused. I would really appreciate your help! The question is about sending a patient’s blood sample to a lab because we suspect a platelet disorder. The lab test shows that the patient’s platelets fail to AGGREGATE in the presence of vWF. Wouldn’t Bernard-Soulier explain this because the GP1b-5-9 is absent and can’t bind the vWF? Or would Glanzmann Thrombasthenia be the cause because it is involved in aggregation? I’m confused because Bernard-Soulier shows as incorrect.

Both ITP and BSS have macrothrombocytopenia. How to differentiate between idiopathic ITP or BSS on a question?

why doesnt thrombocytopenia occur in glanzmann while it occurs in bernards?

Why is platelet count normal in Glanzmann's but not BSS? I'm struggling to understand why

why in BSS the PLT count is low? I thought it only makes PLT couldn't adhere to SEC, but whether the deficiency of GP1b in BSS also causes the decreasing PLT.

BSS can have thrombasthenia or thrombasthenia with thrombocytopenia.
