Also drug costs are inflated because a huge chunk will be payed by insurance companies. The funny thing is that this should be intuitive.....Medicare 4 all would significantly reduce administrative costs (one plan vs thousands), significantly reduce marketing spend (marketing the existence of Medicare for all vs private insurances competing with peers), and eliminating profit.....why wouldn’t it be more affordable? They calculate the profits of the insurance company into this number, they should deduct it They also calculate the wastage in the administration of different insurance into their total value. What makes a whole country socialist is when everyone abandons banks for credit unions and refuse to work for, or patronize private corporations or companies. It's easy for Steyer to say that since he is not a member of congress, but I guess we will find out eventually. And you might consider that reparations has a 21% support in the country; better to have a person with a long record of helping people and standing on principle get elected as opposed to someone that says what people want to hear just to get elected, or someone who doesn't have a legislative record to judge by, or worse, someone who will perpetuate the increasingly rotten two party - one party donor and war machine worshipping system. The next president will be the de facto leader of the party; Sanders will get rid of the rot; he can also do things that he can't talk about as a candidate. It's the way politics works - and the way to change politics for the better. This is (or should be) about character and fundamental principles.

​@@GeorgePiazza You are right. It IS easy for Steyer or ANY candidate to say things as a candidate. You are also right about that 21%. That's says a whole lot about America and all of the so called left, 'people of color,' immigrants and illegals who ADOS are guilt tripped into being told to embrace. It is also a politicians responsibility to not just go with whatever direction the wind blows, but to also INSPIRE a nation in the direction of justice. He has no problem being a beacon of light with regards to getting money out of politics, medicare for all, free public colleges and educating America to not fear the term Democratic socialist, and supporting DACA (most Americans didn't for a long time). He also marched with MLK, who SUPPORTED reparations for ADOS, at a time when a majority of the country was AGAINST the Civil Rights movement. Bernie and his supporters brag about Bernie marching with MLK, but are silent on the fact that he was coming to Washington to press the U.S. government to pay it's debt. Now people CAN change their position. The thing about Bernie is that he has been consistent for 50 plus years, so when he says he is against it (supporting bills to study it is NOT the same as supporting reparations like he has done for Holocaust survivors AND THEIR HEIRS), I would bet he means it and will not changed. No bill was needed for THAT. They just DID that shit. Obama was THE LAST politician I and many ADOS will ever vote for who does not support and fight for reparations. I hope that a large enough number of ADOS S Carolinians do the same and send a message to ALL politicians and the nation as a whole. We have watched slave owners, Native Americans, Japanese Americans, and most recently Holocaust survivors receive reparations while being told that ADOS don't deserve it, a bill needs to study it, what about the rest of America, my family didn't own slaves, who gets it, etc, etc, etc. We have heard all the bs and we are tired of waiting. No more.

Unlike our Dear and Glorious “leader”, he is willing to pay his fair share in taxes to fund programs which benefit the average person. Both FDR and Bernie share a similar vision for America and even though the former president was born into wealth (he was often accused of being a “traitor to his class”), he was sensitive to the needs of those less fortunate....
