Remember, Bernie was the _mayor_ of the town when he did this. He went to the mall, he found a couple of weird looking teenagers, and he interviewed them. He didn't make fun of them, he didn't cut them off. He asked them serious questions, and when they gave him shaky, nervous answers, he just asked them to explain further. He treated them with respect.

Look at how open-minded Bernie is, though. Damn.

I think these guys had pretty interesting opinions. I can imagine that it was very refreshing for them to be able to speak their minds. And I get why they might not be entirely well-spoken about their opinions since they never get sound them, but it was still interesting to hear what they think.

OMG bernie was an old man 30 some years ago!

Mike volunteered for Bernie's campaign. There's a RU-vid video of him being interviewed recently.

Its tough when you are put on the spot like that with a mic, unprepared. But I think a lot of people probably had prejudice about punks at the time and Bernie gave them a chance to express themselves and actually be heard. And I think they made some very valid points and show what the reaction is about.

Anyone notice how civil these two were? They didn't cop an attitude when Bernie analyzed the way that they dress. They tried to give their opinions as clearly as they could. I was very, very surprised with how well they made their points. Mike especially put his views pretty darn eloquently. Even someone who was against the man realizes the dangers that communism can impose upon a society. They are frustrated people, but I still see plenty of sanity and dignity. By comparison, they wouldn't get along with today's cancel cutlure, sjw, marxist crowds. People like to say that decades ago was the same situation as today. That's dead wrong. People in this country were far more agreeable and understanding decades ago. They were willing to have the conversation. Everyone believed in free speech and not oppressing anyone, including your neighbor. today's far left is quite honestly just an out of control cancer and it needs to be cut out. I am not a fan of Bernie, but I can honestly say that I do enjoy hearing his conversations. If Bernie was more balanced, with a solid blueprint for the future, he just might have had my vote. I am a Republican though, born and raised on a farm and ranch. Democrats do not support my families way of life, they only care about big cities, corporations, big tech and entirely too much government spending. Great video, great conversation. I truly miss the old days. I was 3 years old when this conversation happened. The 90's were honestly a very ideal decade to grow up in.
