Thanks so much for your video. The message kept coming on to check the bobbin and nothing was wrong but I didn't know about not hitting ok until I saw your video. BUT what fixed my problem was when you told us to make sure the hole in the spring of the bobbin case should not be blocked. Thank you, you saved me a trip to have it fixed!

What button do you push first I have a Bernina QE 440 it says to push a button it’s got a line going up and down I do not know which button none of them are working For winding the bobbin the thing is on it’s pushed on it it’s threaded correctly it’s not billing the bobbin

Thank you, but I wish you used a thread of a different color because the white disappears, and if you don't have speakers, this is hard to decipher.... anyway, thank you!

My Artista 200/730 arrived to me with the bobbin lever broken off, no bits in the suitcase, they swore it was fine when it left. I'm trying to get a price to fix it, but I can't wind bobbins except I found one machine they fit on that will do for now. I didn't know about using the back guide, does that apply using the machine thread spindle? What is that double silver one, does that come with the 730 or is it an add on? I am trying to get the embroidery function going and I'm picking up a lot of tips from you, things I never knew the machine did (I should watch the tutorial CDs I guess).

I have a Bernina B580, is it normal that when I sew there is a light tapping sound when I stitch? With any presser foot, is like the foot is touching with something, but when I remove the foot, and I run the machine, the machine runs wonderful

Tanya Townsend Have you oiled your bobbin assembly lately? The 580 is a rotary hook machine that is mechanically exactly the same as a Bernina 640. The hook assembly itself is the same in any of the Bernina rotary hook models like the 200 and 730 I show in many of my videos. I should have a video posted that shows you where to place a small drop of oil in the hook assembly on a 200 or 730 so that would be the same on your 580. It’s not making the tapping sound because the bobbin is not being pulled on or under load from sewing when the machine is running free. One other possibility could be the feed dogs slightly striking the stitch plate under sewing conditions. That also causes a tapping sound. They can be easily adjusted if that is the case. Those are the first two items that come to mind when someone asks a question like yours. Oil the bobbin assemble every few hours of use. A small drop of oil goes a long way so don’t over do it. Bill

JoeKind1958 thank you, I like to think that I take care of all my sewing machines, but, maybe something I did that is doing it, I will follow your advise, if it still persists, then I will take it to the repair man, thank you again

And you were absolutely right on your second guess, the stitch plate is touching the feed dogs

There can be several things that might cause a tapping sound in clouding broken thread being wrapped up somewhere. So without actually actually having your machine in front of me, this is about the best I can do. I would take off the stitch plate and closely look at the area around where the feed dogs move. See if you see any rubbing marks. You could lower the feed dogs and do a couple of stitches with the foot attached moving the material manually, again just for a few stitches to see if the noise stops. Happy Holidays! Bill
