They are each their own separate software, but you can create some great things using both of the them together. DesignWorks will create crystal, painted, applique and cut designs. BERNINA V 8 of course will create embroidered designs, as well as applique and cut designs. You can then bring embroidery designs into DesignWorks and apply crystals or paint. In Artwork Canvas of Software 8, you can create vector images and then bring them into DesignWorks to create a painted design.
