I bought this great sewing machine from a thrift store for $15, yes fifteen dollars. Well taken care of and has all the accessories and original owners manual.
Greetings from Sydney, Australia. Thanks so much for sharing. I got this machine early this year without a manual. I found your video quite informative. Keep up the good work !
Thank you for sharing. My mother gifted me her machine in her will. I learned to use other machines but was not allowed to touch this one. I am glad for your visual instructions. I am in the USA and my mom referred to this machine as her Cadillac. I wish I knew how many miles she put on it....
thank you for you comment, the machine is a luxury brand and still holding up till now and packed much functions, I hope there are technicians good enough for the service/maintainers.
Thank you. I too inherited this machine. Video is very good. Having problem with feed dogs - fabric will not feed. Can pull fabric but obviously that will not work well. Any suggestions?
Try raise the presser foot to upper position, turn the hand wheel of the machine to see if the feed dog come up and go worn as you rotate be careful try with the tip of your finger to feel the movement please don’t go near the needle be sure just the tip, if you can’t feel it try to switch the feed dog control off and on position. If anything let me know Good luck.
@@escapedezigns4046 feed dogs move. It appears need to adjust shaft presser foot (not sure name). I read there is a spring inside the shaft - now thinking that spring may be the problem. 🤷♀️
I am getting a relatives machine just like this one. Is there anything I should oil other than the bobbin case? It hasn’t been used in quite a few years and I don’t want to stress any parts but suddenly using. Thank you!
Yes, if you are handy you have to take out the top part and oil some moving parts, but if not I will recommend you use a professional service because it can be tricky to put the top cover back, aside from that there is another hole on the throat close to the body of the machine you can also put two drops of oil. if the machine has been stored for a long time, I will suggest after oiling run the machine at a lower speed for a couple of minutes to ease any stiff or sticky parts, do this couple of times, if the machine is loud, give it hours to settle down after the first run, re-oil again, repeat the running process, until the sound becomes little quite.
sorry i got your question late i was out for a while so if you're talking about the bulb you will have to screw out the screw holding the takeup leaver on the left end of the machine, that way you will have access to the bulb light. another option is, you can buy magnetic sewing machine light, most are LED and very bright. you can use it on any sewing machine. the link below is one of many you can chose from( www.amazon.com/harmiey-Gooseneck-Magnetic-Mounting-Workbenches/dp/B07FSPJKWQ/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=sewing+machine+led+light&qid=1620718246&sr=8-9 ) thanks you and good luck sewing.
