Yadin Tannenbaum fell in battle at the Suez Canal on October 7, 1973, when he was merely 19 years old. The world lost a talented flutist. In 1981, Leonard Bernstein wrote in the score of his work, "Halil": "I never knew Yadin Tannenbaum, but I know his spirit ." He added, "This work is dedicated to the spirit of Yadin and to his fallen brothers."
In memory of Yadin Tannenbaum and in honor of those killed and murdered in the 2023 war, we share here a recording of "Halil" from 2021, with Principal Flute Guy Eshed and the Israel Philharmonic conducted by Lahav Shani.
