BERSERK 368: One Word: DAMN. 

I am so glad Berserk is back. It is lifting up both myself and my wife (she is fighting cancer) and giving us one more great reason to keep Struggling!

never in the time I've been alive I thought that I'd see consistent berserk chapter releases, and I'm not talking about the consistency of 2 chapter per year

I wish Casca woke up and screamed GUTS!! So he shakes out of the despair and goes BERSERK

Truly the best chapter from the new team so far, the drawings still seem kinda wonky though.

When skullknight says "man", he is very obviously referring to man as in humanity. Not Guts.

I'm glad they finally worked with more dialogue, I was getting really worried about that. I think the art is really great in some parts, like Isidoro and Roderick look perfectly fine to me. And lets be real, Miuras style is incredibly difficult to imitate. What they have shown us so far is already so much more detailed than your average Manga. To me it looks like they are really doing their best. I can only imagine how hard this task is as an illustrator myself, so I won't be nitpicky about that. However I'm still depressed seeing Casca getting kidnapped and thereby not getting much chance of more agency in the story. Also Guts expressions are heartbreaking, poor guy. I personally would have loved to see the whole group and all the creatures of Elfhelm protect Casca at all costs. And her not letting Griffith have his way again, instead of fainting conviniently. But if that is what Miura had planned I would have been bummed out about it either way. Still wondering where all the other witches and creatures are though. The place seemed so full of life and is now getting sucked up in a minute. I really hope they'll continue to add more details and little dialogues like they did in this chapter.

I definitely think we are going to get a "the Eagles are coming!" kind of moment with all the sorcerers on the island picking up the survivors and flying them to the boats. I also think that with that many sorcerers on hand who have mastered the power of making inanimate objects float, the boat ride back to the mainland is going to be a lot quicker/easier. We might get a few chapters of everyone crammed into boats, but I would be surprised if there was any more than that. I want to see Skull Knight just awkwardly stuck there on the boat, being an introvert just staring down at his feet. That would be funny. Sky boats is going to be a fun visual if that's what they intend on doing. (I also predict that after this arc end we are going to get Skull Knight/Gaiseric's back story including what he did to that island when he was a conquering sonofabitch. Just my opinion, but this seems like the perfect place to put that flashback.)

I’m just glad the manga will potentially be finished. I was devastated at the thought at never seeing the ending. I’m glad that someone so worthy of continuing this at the helm honoring miura and his stories

Thank you eternally to Miura’s lifelong friend who took the helm of the manga and the team who got together to piece together Miura’s vision for where the story would go. By the way, it just me or did anyone/everyone else also have to hold back tears or even cry like a baby?? I think I was somewhere in between the two… lol

For anyone saying Guts' despair expressions look weird or unmatching to the character, keep in mind that a) he might be straight up maniac who slaughters monstrous creatures as if he is one himself, but in reality inside he's just fragile human with feelings and emotions (chapters when he reflects on his past experience with Gambino and when he cries after killing someone or being the reason why anyone is killed are best at showing it); b)black swordsman has only two goals - saving Casca and killing Griffith. And if right now the second purpose is mostly fueled by rage and vengeance from dark creature in Guts' soul, restoring Casca's sanity and living happily with her is prior to the man himself. Knowing this and all that he went through for this particular reason makes his frustrated looks more than understandable. He might look lost, maybe he even truly is, but eventually he will overcome this obstacle and keep on fighting and that's what's so beautiful about this character and this story - he struggles on his way to happiness. Give Studio Gaga and Koji Mori all the love and support you can. This people are trying their best on quality and quantity yet some "fans" are unpleased, man look at other story continuations and be infinitely grateful that for Berserk it is going how it is (Naruto - Boruto, MCU phase 4, Vagabond doesn't even have an ending etc.) Btw thanks for the review man, keep up the good work!

The art is getting better. Although you can really notice how good Miura was, especially at keeping everything in proportion. I mean, he made it visible that guts lost weight because of the armor.... We could actually see the difference between guts being muscular and ripped and guts being still very muscular but thinner... These types of detail are hard to pull off. Right now we can see skullknight's horse being thin with a long neck, that's just something wrong with the proportions. Still, the team is amazing to be pulling all this off. So props to them. Only point I want to make is that Miuara didn't take his time for nothing, the details add up to be an amazing piece of art. He was an amazing artist

6:30 I have a theory. Griffith uses whatever he wants to achieve his goals right? Did he (eclipse thing) Caska, and now does this because he still needs Guts and/or Caska for something? Was the moonlight boy the only way for him to get a flesh and blood body back? Is he trying to keep Guts alive because he knows if he angers him, he will keep fighting and struggling, because he knows Guts needs a purpose to survive? Does he maybe even want them to survive? Does he maybe think that this was the only way to both get what he wants, and keep his only friend(s) alive? I have so many questions! So excited about all the new chapters!

I might be the one that mentionned the hand thing. And god I did not though of it that far, but yeah, he is 100% taunting him...

There's going to be a new arc for the berserk series maybe it could be the new Arc of Griffith Kingdom maybe it could be the final battle between guts and Griffith. Griffith is using princess Charlotte for his kingdom but Griffith does not care about Princess Charlie she's only using her with his kingdom.

Jesus, Gut just can't catch a break. They're finally find somewhere Casca could recover and this happens. I'd just call it a day if I were him lol

Overall, there were a lot of improvement on the arts, but SK horse's neck definitely not proportional to realistic design, making it rather cartoonish then regal majestic. The look of despair from Guts was on point, kinda similar to how he was completely sad from his lie to The Count's daughter, back in Black Swordsmen arc. The darkness stuff within Elfheim actually has been teased multiple times in previous chapters. When Schierke tried to summon dark element from a tree, then there was witches dark places also akin to qlipoth. There were also many dead people in Elfheim, invaders/intruders that tried to occupied/harm the land, being magically trapped into a giant wicker man.

My only complaint is the pacing has felt off? Though it could be cause we dont normally get this many chapters? Either way no complaints so far as the story was looking like it would progress in this direction before Miura's death anyway. Those last pages with Guts expression were just wow really conveyed the emotion Guts was feeling well and it hit hard imo. Theory for the next chapter is im fulling expecting the witches to come in on the booms to save people on the Island, expecting a shot of Schierke getting Guts and everyone regrouping on the boat. Id imagine we would get some exposition from SK or Danan and Guts is going to have to have a bit of soul searching there to decide what to do next

guts reaction seems a little off to me but we can't really know until the next chapter, but also a little sad that the chapter doesn't have much progression in a single chapter like it used to before.
