I saw this guy last month, and my first thought was that he feels a little more like the Archfiend Commander, but of course, this guy can at least attack the turn he came down. Glad to see I wasn't the only one thinking of Unchained.
@Havok91 I feel like the clue is in the name for which deck it's supposed to support first 😬 but Archfiends are too legacy right now for people to associate the card with them
@@TheArchfiendGuy Oh, I knew right away what deck it was meant for. I just meant that the effect was almost a carbon copy of Archfiend Commander with an optional additional cost.
@@TheArchfiendGuyHey, what do you think about Shadows light in the Deck? I think the fable monster is a great target and the second normal summon is pretty good!
@coldkascht hey! Yeah, I've tested both Shadow's Light and Duality. I personally prefer Duality because it's a quick play but they're both fairly decent. I used to use them mainly as ways to cheat out Chaos Archfiend but they're a tad longwinded for that purpose. Maybe Shadow's Light is particularly useful in this variant because of the rank 6 plays (Soulkius being level 6). Duality can be good in a fusion variant because you can fuse into Magnum the Reliever, draw or disrupt, then Duality into Chaos Archfiend (and regenerate resources with Duality's GY effect). A slept on fusion monster in my opinion is Gust Kraken. It's also a level 8 fiend and it can nuke the board and search out any field spell
When I saw Berserk Archfiend introduced, I knew it would instantly replace Archfiend Commander and would probably be a staple for Archfiends moving forward. Now if only we can get an Archfiend tuner. There's more than enough Archfiend Synchros, even Fiend Synchros to justify us having 1. Preferably level 3 or 4
I reckon Berserk complements Commander if anything! Or at least gives us more reasons to actually run Commander now. Triggering Cavalry doesn't feel like so much of a chore anymore which is nice. And yes, we desperately need an Archfiend tuner. Perhaps a dark dragon synchro that bridges the gap as well (so that Bone Archfiend synergises a bit more with Archfiends instead of Red Dragon Archfiend)
@@TheArchfiendGuy An Archfiend Tuner that can be summoned in a special way through destruction, and if synchronized allows you to search for an Archfiend ritual card or fusion. It would be good to have such a support, to have an archfiend fusion or a proper card for ritual summoning.
I'm happy Berserk Archfiend seems to be quite strong! The art's cool-looking, which is very important for a card to be good. Its effect and it being level 6 is pretty neat too or something I guess. Jokes aside, really neat how you used Yama and the Unchained package/engine. I know this isn't the first time you used Unchained in this deck, but Yama made me raise my eyebrow when I saw his link materials and graveyard effect both being generic fiend support. Fiends don't seem to get as much attention as zombies, dragons, dinos, or even plants as a type that works beyond archetypes as far as I can tell. But new fiend support often seem to compliment older fiend decks quite well. Not a particularly special point, but a lotta fiend decks use Muckracker as just a backup plan, as the fiend lock can lock you out of stuff. But it seems to me that your lists don't care about the fiend lock all that much. Dunno if that's something that would come up too often, but I remember seeing Chaos Angel and Evil Zeus being fiends and wondering how that could matter.
Yeah this deck is almost exclusively mono fiend, so the lock doesn't do anything. Typhon (evil zeus) is indeed a fiend and is a really useful panic button in case everything gets negated. At least you can overlay into a big beater that can bounce things. Yama is a very strong generic fiend card. The extra pop can be useful but just being able to float again is great. Muckraker and Yama are such great extenders, I'd recommend them in most fiend decks really!
Thanks! Konami blesses Archfiends in weird and wonderful ways. We just take what we get and see what it goes. Another thing I thought about is to search out Bone Archfiend with Pandemonium, and then dump Vision Resonator to search Crimson Gaia, which then searches Fiendish Golem. So that makes a Pandemonium search into a recurring banish which isn't too shabby!
Yes!!! The synergy !you can literally make any line with archfiends with this, it’s so consistent, what made you want to cut masterking archfiend? It can target unchained and archfiends themselves. Really want to see what the extra deck looks like.
Masterking is cool but there's just too many cards, too little space. If I can figure out a way to summon Masterking early in a way that doesn't take away from the core combo line, then I'll do it. I can see it working with maybe a Chimera Fusion package
@@TheArchfiendGuy I didn’t even think about chimera fusion like that, fun fact: you can summon dark balter the terrible on your opponent’s turn with the chimera package. I am curious though, is it possible to run and pandemonium monsters (which are not archfiends) in this variant?
@elionijames598 only one way to find out! To be honest the Chimera package is pretty fun because the fusion monsters all float into fiends. So they can be good to keep Empress floating into various Archfiends (which can also help trigger Pandemonium)
Looking back at this with your last search with heiress you could go into berserk dragon to end combo, I know it’s not meta but it has potential to clear the board
@elionijames598 yep, I thought exactly the same thing when I rewatched it too 😬. Astraloud popping Chaos Archfiend makes Berserk live there and then. I think I didn't initially include it because Aruha locks into fiends, but I think the pros outweigh the cons
Good question. Right now I've been running 3 General and 2 Pandemonium as this gives me roughly 50% to open one of them in a 40 card deck. Taking one of those away reduces it down to 42% so I feel like 3+2 is optimal. Maybe Terraforming could also be good because of Palabyrinth No Masterking (yet) just because I'm finding it difficult to end on him and the other stuff. But there's time to cook!
A challenge between you ( Archfiends ) vs some Yugituber ( his singnature deck ) would be the coolest thing on Earth ! Making great use of both Field spells is just insane !!👏👏👏
That would either be very cool, or it'd be over quickly if I got hand trapped into oblivion 😁 but yeah it's pretty cool that Pandemonium and Palabyrinth have their uses together
@@TheArchfiendGuy requires 3 level 6 monsters Detach 2 materials, return all other cards on the field to the hand. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to the activation of this card
Can you make some more Content towards the Punk Chaos Archfiend deck? I was looking for a good host to put in the synchro in your builds looks much better than the core of chaos shell of chaos variants
Yeah sure, I like Emergency Teleport just because it feels so good to top deck it Still working on ratios! Too many packages to try and fit into one deck
Yeah that's a big fat no from me chief! Archfiends already struggle massively against hand traps. You *can* run Diabellestar for an early negate I suppose. You can also run Quick Launch for a one card Savage Dragon which also sets up Rokket Recharger to float into dark monsters Stuff like that I guess!
@invertfriend yeah, the problem is that Archfiends on their own don't have any starter cards, so it's hard to play around disruption without shoving in generic stuff. It's a balancing game getting the ratios right but I think some early disruption protection could go a long way. I'd just like an Archfiend hand trap. It'd make Pandemonium have a really useful search
