cant wrap my head around the fact that I was only 4 years old when this AMV was made and now I'm both a fan of Metallica and Berserk 15 years later edit: since i made this comment I keep coming back to this video, god damn I keep shedding a tear or two. RIP Miura.

The anime ran for 25 episodes. However, I totally recommend watching the 1st episode after episode #25. It brings everything to full circle. Then, just read the manga while listening to the best Berserk songs from the anime, the Dreamcast game, and the PS2 game....that is what I do, and it is totally awesome. As far as this video - it is awesome!!

This was probably the first well made Berserk AMV to be uploaded to RU-vid. It still holds up incredibly well even 15 years later.

For 2006 this amv has a considerable amount of effort put into it.

Some parts are really epic match like "you've labeled me, I'll label you!"

there is so much about this amv that's just brilliant and i can't get over it. the way that every single clip chosen is so intentional to go exactly with the lyrics. amvs don't do this nearly as much any more. i love the clip chosen at 2:05 where guts and griffith are passing each other, and how it's transitional between the first verse focusing on guts-- the whipping boy done wrong, deprived of all his thoughts-- into the second verse focusing on griffith-- the bitter man he is, battling constantly. it's like guts is literally passing the narrative over to griffith in this clip. so smart. ( i still love how well the first verse fits with guts' past in gambino's care) i love how at the "what i've felt, what i've known, never shined through in what i've shown" show multiple juxtapositions in the characters of both guts and griffith. 1:55 -- guts has only felt and known war, solitude, and camaraderie on a bloody battlefield, yet he's shown he is able to do something as gentle as loving casca romantically. 3:10 -- griffith has only felt and known the overwhelming strength and support of the band of the hawk, always around him and pushing him up, being taught what true loyalty and friendship should be, yet all he's shown is the pile of corpses he uses to get to his castle, discarding loyalty and friendship entirely in the end. i love the quick clips of griffith's evil stare, timed with the very brief drum beats, at 2:13 and 2:27 that gives the same effect of how his evil, knowing stares are seen in the anime-- they are brief and intense, and people question if the look had even been there. brief yet intense glimpses into griffith's true nature. i love that in the calm before the storm, we're shown montage of the band of the hawk, 3:26 all these people we've grown to care for and why up until griffith sacrifices. then, as the guitar solo hits all hell breaks loose too and those people we were reminded of are ripped to shreds. it works so well. there's more but i'm gonna shut up now. this is just awesome on so many levels and is an amv masterpiece.
