You know, this opening is better than 90% of videogame trailers these days. If I knew nothing about Berserk and saw this I would have so many questions about what's going on in this.
This song explains perfectly the tone of Berserk. No song comes close. Just like Forces explains perfectly the tone for golden age ark. This song sets the tone for Berserk after the eclipse.
@@hellodigitalworld8224 Both 16/17 openings were terrible for me. and 1997 one wasnt that good either. The golden age trilogy movies and videogames have the best and most fitting openings for Berserk
One of the best openings ever everything just blends perfectly .... the visuals( despite being 20 yrs old) The score by Susumu Hirasawa Just amazing in every way ...
one day many years ago i was strolling through a street of bad reputation and a man was offering a lot of pirate disks just to get rid of them, some time after that day my brother forced me to watch the anime berserk, so much mature content for a little kid, yet i really liked it, one year ago my brother got a ps2, and i still had half of the unknown disc of which we really never found out how to make reproduce them, aroud three months ago i was bored and i putted one of the disks in the ps2, and we found out they where all ps2 games, and while testing all of the disk i found this game, i as so shocked and happy at that discovery, the same character of that old anime but with people and settings i never knew there was, then i took tho the internet and researched berserk, movies, manga and game references everywhere, like the artorias from darksouls or his golden age armor and dragonslayer sword in dragons dogma, and i own copies of those games, so much coincidences, so much happiness, i didnt even care that i didnt uderstand shit of japanese, i have already beated the game thrice PS: sorry for the ingrish
This introduction alone captures the energy, atmosphere, and emotion of the manga better than all other adaptations combined, including that sorry excuse for a PS4 game. The rest of the PS2 game encapsulates that feeling even more-so. The combat is so heavy and meaty, it's exactly how it should feel when playing as Guts with his signature weapon.
I'm fucking torn up by the tragic news rn... Kentaro Miura's death is no joke the manga-community equivalent to George R. R. Martin passing away before he can finish A Song of Ice and Fire... Only, it's arguably even more tragic, not only because Kentaro Miura inspired so many people, (can you even imagine what the video gaming and the manga industries would look like without Miura's influence? I don't think you can,) but also because he passed away only 54 years old... May he find peace beyond the shores of Skellig, deep in the forests of Elfhelm...
Have no energy to re-read all the chapters again, dear god I haven't cried this much since Etika's passing. May Miura-san rest in peace and hope everyone will be able to face the reality of this situation
I don't recall how I saw this waaay back during the PS2 days but it always left a huge impression on me. Had no idea it was a manga adaptation at the time, but it looked so damn good.
if you love the anime and mange then wait no further !! :) this game really captures the mood and feel of the anime. Imagine being able to play as Guts :) !!all i can say is that if you are FAN this game is a must !! :)
My first berserk game was Sword of the Berserk on Sega Dreamcast couple of years later a friend of mine lend me a pirate game copy on ps2 on a dvd without a name he told me play this shit u going to like it, I went to my house, turn on the ps2 put on the disc when I saw the intro I was like hooooooolyyy shiiiiit BERSEEEEERKKK!!!!! LOL
i used to have this but i have no idea which of my brothers bought it but if there is anything i like about this game is that it made you feel like an unstoppable monster
Jake Lancaster Belmont ditto, holy fuck what a dissapointment, Even worse is the berserker armor episode with that godawful animation tho, the moment i have been waiting to see animated for more then 10 years... *sob*
Eh, the opening of Berserk 2017 wasn't bad, *definitely better then the Berserk 2016 one in my opinion.* But indeed, compared to THIS, that opening falls flat on the ground.
Thumbs up if you think this is perfect season two for the 1997 Berserk anime? I know it skip two arcs but it does have the same voice actors from previous anime which is cool and this game came out on 2004.
What happens whit the band of the hawk here? I see some kind of illusion fight with them just to crush more Guts morale, the part where he is holding Casca is brutal, you only can feel more empathy for him if that is the case.
A HD English remake would be awesome, but then again we never gotten a true FF7 remake either. The show should be on Netflix to sponsor a continuation of the show in English as well.
I wish I can play this. The PS2 sucks when it comes to region play. There isn't an American release. I know I can emulate but I don't have a computer. A good one anyway
Seth O' Callaghan Except sacrificed all he knew and loved who respected him not the mention the rape... I've yearned to see Guts beat the crap out of Griffith. JUST NOT FAIRRR WHYY. RELEASE MORE BERSERK PLS :C
