Monsters in Berserk are also much worse than Titans. I bet all the civilians in the Berserk universe wish they lived in the Attack On Titan world since the monsters and people in Berserk are much more heinous.

I think why the opening is so calm and kinda "clumsy or funny" with the engrish, is because you expect the show kinda peaceful but end up with the berserk ending
The Broom in the Closet Yeah. The whole anime is like that i think. It lures you in with a kinda lighthearted story with some fights and stuff and then the final 3 episodes happens and gives everyone nightmares
I feel like Jotaro from Stardust Crusaders may have a slight chance in competing with guts for most badass character, but that is a somewhat slim chance

I think most of the people didn't notice that Griffith was being disonant between the things he said and how he acted. The way he reacted after Gatsu's departure and the feeling of love and hate he described after being found by him after the whole torture showed that Gatsu meant a lot more to him than he actually admitted. Even when the ritual was happening, the moment when Gatsu was about to fall and Griffith tried to hold him while his skinny arm was pretty much breaking showed that Griffith really cared. The torture was more brutal than it was showed in the anime, and holding sanity for a year after that was pretty much impossible, and that combined with the demons modifying his memories and cornering him to a point of no return showed that both Gatsu's ad Griffith had a destiny estalished and they coud do nothing about it, at least to that point. The Griffith that embraced his destiny died at that moment, and the creature that emerged from it may look and act like him, but it's the result of his hatred and negative emotions meaning that he's not the same person he was before.
Moon Bears-C- he cared for everyone actually... its like it says at some point he was divided by his dream and his love for people... but in the end he had to realise his dream or else all those thousands of comrades and tens of thousands of enemies who died for his dream would go in vain... he is not as ammoralistic as people think... he is just fucked up and stupid, blinded by his dream...
+MojoBonzo I think Griffith only did what he did because he was pretty much manipulated while he was mentally unstable, having been tortured for so long and what not. Clear minded Griffith wouldn't have sacrificed everyone in my opinion.
i fucking love that half second at 1:21 when Guts realises and relishes the fact that he finally beat Griffith. But then in the next frame he's regained his composure because he doesn't want to revel in the fact that he's overtaken the guy he admired most. And fuck, Griffith looks so utterly surprised as well! Such a good scene!!!!!!
Man I really liked Griffith, I think he really cared for his men and people. But during his torture, he broke. That and the fact guys leaving effected it. He saw guts as a friend, now just a soldier under him.
+Stephen Sparacino No, before he was tortured, he was talking to that girl about how none of the people in the Band of the Hawk were his friends, and he would sacrifice them in a heartbeat to obtain what he wants.
The only one he really cared for was Guts as @Ash said. He didn't even fully understand why he cared about guts so much and it tore him to pieces. I don't think he cared much about Casca. While raping Casca and while he messed up and slept with the princes what was on his mind? Guts. With the princes he wanted to reach his goals asap and get on top of the world (maybe to cure the pain of his only true friend leaving him). With Casca he wanted to see Guts suffer.
It's not only nostalgic, but it gives a feel of foreshadowing, events an when i watch this video again an again. I get the feeling that this song is speaking out, whats going on the Guts an Griffiths mind. During the dramatic events thats happened too them both. As well as what they want too convey too each other or at least thats what i think when i hear this song.
It fits because things like the distorted guitar and the weird singing makes it feel like a desperate attempt to hide some really awful stuff happening behind the scenes,it captures the constant feeling that there's a dark force at play during the Golden Age and that there's a horrible fate coming at any second. But that you can still make through it,just not in the same way you came, not without sacrificing some.
Despite the cringey engrish, Tell Me Why is a perfect OP for Berserk. It captures the solemn and melancholic yet hopeful spirit of the Golden Age. It's never too late to live your life the way you want. There's always a way. Nothing is always the same. I'll always keep it close to my heart. This AMV is perfect in how it captures both the optimism and tragedy of the Golden Age. Well made. No wonder it's so easy to find.

All Griffit's life was about sacrificing his people for personal gain and he had already had his hands covered in blood of BotH by the time the Eclipse happened. If Griffith hadn't lost his mind after the duel, he would have sacrificed most of his mercs on a battlefield anyway and they WERE ready to die for him, but not in such an atrocious way
I remember when my husband was telling me about this anime in high school. We were dating at the time and he couldn't remember the name, but he described some of it to me. We eventually found the whole series at Blockbuster, and I've been hooked ever since.
