I will always remember the time I traveled 200 miles to his home in East Fork to ask for a blessing when I laid the eagle plume and a stone down on his foot at his front door early one the morning and he obliged in his humble ways, accepting my gift and him speaking so eloquently about his Dilzhe'e connections to people in Camp Verde. God bless you Hinton family.

I remember when me and my friends were sitting down and singing some songs and this was the last song we sang. Then after awhile we stop we we're quite then one of the guys said it's weird how were so quit. Then I heard that this guy died the next day 😢. I just wanna share this little story I had

My heart, prayers, thoughts and condolences go out to Bert Hinton Sr family. In my life time I’ve only meet this medicine man a few times during ceremonies. One ceremony I remember was back in 2003 or 2004 he done in a dance in Fort McDowell ( where I’m from ) and after the girl was dressed and standing with her cane and godmother, he spoke in English saying to the girl, her family to pray for this tribe, pray for these people for letting you use their land to do your dance here.... years after he’s done 4 of my cousins dances and years before he’s done 2 of my cousins dances, and each dance I’ve attended by him was a blessing. Never attended any of your dances but my heart, prayers and condolences go out your family and all your daughters you’ve done dances for past and present. R.I.P Bert Hinton Sr you’ll be missed but your ceremonies and songs will be carried on
