Maestro Chamayou's glowing performance of these Ravel masterpieces is precise, bathed in deep sonorities; yet with an almost brittle touch; imparting a wonderful, evanescent quality overall; (e.g., Noctuelles, Jeux d'eau). I think 'Miroirs' is one of Ravel's greatest achievements; wonderfully realized here, by Maestro Chamayou's technical prowess, just overflowing with passion. I think my favorite rendering here is 'Alborada del gracioso'; moreover, so devilishly difficult, with enormous contrasts, containing some startling juxtapositions. The three Liszt pieces are each very different, showcasing Maestro Chamayou's inimitable technique; yet once again, he dazzles with both bravura and at other times a quiet intensity.
