Today we are going to unbox and setup the OusTect thermal printer. It's another Amazon private label chinese flavor of printer but this was scooped up for $74.99 + tax =) but usually retails around $150 - amzn.to/32flnoh Which is a little overpriced. It looks very similar to the Arkscan and has more compatibilities than the rollo. Don't expect exceptional custom support from there guys as their website that they advertise does not even work www.oustectus.com
It'll print 4x6 postage shipping labels perfectly fine. IT WILL NOT WORK WITH IPHONE, IT IS NOT WIRELESS. For $75 Is it the best thermal printer for shopify? Is it the best thermal printer for ebay?
It is the best thermal printer for Amazon? It'll work for them all, and at that price its hard to say no.

I noticed that too with the knock off rollo I got. It kept referencing a usb thumb drive for the drivers but was never in the box.

Thank you so much for this video. I was about to buy a Dymo 4XL but didn't want to spend that much money because I just started my Shopify merch store and wanted a budget-friendly option. I got this printer off Amazon for $110 and believe it or not, I got the $30 rebate from Oustect. It took a couple weeks but I got it so I'm in this printer for $80. It's not sexy but it's functional and saves me a bunch of time and money on postage. Because of your helpful tutorial, I was able to get the printer setup and printing in less than 10 minutes.

Does anyone know how to adjust the size so that the label takes up the entire label page? I’ve attempted the settings he has here and have the label is cut off on the sheet, or it’s way too small for the post office to scan. (I have a Lenovo idea pad, using windows)….🤔

I was just thinking maybe the SD card slot is for printing pictures on your SD card that you have but it would just be in black and white.not sure I just took a wild guess.or stored purchase labels of your into selling many many items on Ebay or Amazon just hasn't gotten around to it yet and you saved it on your SD card

You can just set the darkness higher if you find the labels come out dull. Any labels up to a little over 4" in width.

Im not tech savvy. So i was afraid to buy both a cheap one or a fancy one. I went with the fisher price brand printer. I would of got this one but was afraid i need a cd drive to install the driver. Anything beside plug in and go was to much for me.

Can u help? I bought one of these, and when I power it up the light is solid red not blue. I push the button to see if and labels come out and none come out. I hold down button to calibrate it and nothing. Light is always red.

450 cant print shipping labels no. Only 2x7 USPS labels. No support for 4x6.

This would work. For text and barcodes 203dpi is fine. If you want to print images a 300dpi printer is optimal.

@@thecollegepicker Sir, can Zebra 2844 drivers or usb port become corrupt, printed 5 labels and Zebra now in error state, swapped usb b and parallel cable still in error state, running windows 7 or windows 7 upgrade :(

The Banana well a USB port can get fried if the wrong voltage blows it up. Had a old printer with a non grounded power cable and the USB port on my computer fried as the usb cable from the printer transferred the voltage.. I would try a factory reset, clean of all zebra drivers and a fresh install. Try it on another pc if you can't get it to work on yours

The coupon Eric used to buy this printer may expire. There is deals coming and going. There was a 50$ coupon on another Chinese clamshell printer today on Eric's insta story. If your lp2844 works well I wouldn't sell it, if you have the money buy another one and see what you like the most. You have better support and there is more knowledge about the zebra then any Chinese printer.

@@elliephillips4886 Hi Ellie. It’s the ‘Rapid Print’ for £120 with a roll of 500 labels but it doesn’t come with the USBC adapter. It has a brown cover and an orange button. It’s sent direct from the seller so return postage may apply.

Hey man, I just bought this printer. I can not seem to get it to print correctly from chrome with window. Its wanting to print the label landscape instead of vertical. I can not seem to get it to work right. I have to put the label in photoshop and print from photoshop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is first time using a printer thermal printer, I've used your advice and went with the UPS Labels and got a printer instead of what I've been doing in the past of plastic label sleeves.

I got my Rollo printer to work with Ubuntu. Rollo has a Linux driver on their website. Driver is the key.

If the router has usb capabilities you could print with it networked via USB wire. Then you could access it from a computer but it would not make it work on iphone or ipads.

@@thecollegepicker Thanks for the quick reply! So far the Arkscan has been very reliable for a Shopify store this past year. I like that it works with 3rd party compatible labels (even the Free UPS 4x6 labels). Did not see a review of the Arkscan 2054A (203dpi) on your channel but would be nice to see a comparison with similar Zebra or Brother printers (even if proprietary labels are required). I have a customer looking for a replacement of their dead Dymo 450 printers since they are discontinued and the 550 only supports Dymo labels.😩 Or if you have a recommendation here in comments that's great too! Looking at the Zebra TD-4550DNWB, ZSB-DP12, ZSB-DP14, ZD420 (300dpi a bonus). Thank you

It's amazing that Chinese companies manufacture printers without drivers or suport. If they do suport their products, the websites are updated or deleted. Who uses CD-ROMs nowadays? I searched many sites to find the drivers and Apps to actually print labels.

George If you are still looking for one I just bought this printer on Facebook Marketplace for 75 plus tax and shipping. Just need to set it up thats why I am here checking out his video again :)
