This is my beloved compound bow from Hoyt. Though it is “old”.. It is a true joy to shoot! MagnaTec with XT 2000 limbs. Great bow overall. Hard to beat for the money.

Few questions, what's the draw weight/length. Can it take down an elk. Would this still be a viable option in 2024?

As my uncle would always say "the old stuff works just as good as the new stuff".. "sometimes the old stuff is better" Draw weight is at 70lbs. Draw length is at 32inches. Accompanied with a sharp broadhead and good shot placement. You bet. I've harvested lots of wild hogs with this bow, several big whitetail deer, and a LARGE Axis Bull.

I used to have this bow. It's the last bow to have a built in overdraw which shortens the brase height to shorten the arrow length. The arch designer has the least amount of riser flex for excellent accuracy. I got the hoyt katera after the magna tech. Then went to crossbows. The magna tech is an excellent bow.

whould you recommend unstringing the bow after deer season is over i read you should unstring a bow if you are not shooting it a while to save on the limbs

I unstring my recurve and long bows most of the time With my compound bows I do not unstring them

how far can you adjust the draw length on it I have the RL2-R-HL cam@@LongshoresOutdoors mine is set at 27 inches the guy told me he should be able to get it a little longer at archery shop

@@ItsAllGravy0123 I’d take it into an archery shop that has a proper “bow press”.. I don’t replace or adjust the cams on my compound bows myself.

how do you know if the cam is in time where is the timing mark i couldnt find any info on it

I don’t have any experience switching cams on this bow.. and I can’t say that I would recommend it unless you have a legitimate bow press. I’ve seen experienced bow enthusiasts go to the hospital for attempting to use a bow press the “correct way”.
