@@SkillsBuildTraining the dude actually passed and would like to thank you but he's now meeting the corporate operations head for the finale. let's hope for the best.
Anyone else thinks the Help desk and desktop support job is the most underrated in the IT field. In order to be able to answer the questions correctly you must have network, software, database good knowledge. Above all, the help desk is the person who solves most of the problems the normal users experience in daily basis. They deserve to be paid as same as security analysts, network engineers, software developers, etc.
Thanks for your comment A L. Security Analysts, Network Engineers, Software Developers, etc, and other Intermediate and Senior level IT roles solve more complex IT problems. Those roles require more qualifications and experience which is the reason they are compensated higher than 1st line support jobs.
that’s why you have to specialize in something! imo help desk is just to get your foot in the door. after that go into something specific that you like and focus on that.
If you keep getting better at Helpdesk/ Desktop Support then you can go from level one to level to to level three. Level three techs usually make around the same money that those other jobs do. Although level three can mean different thing depending on where you work.
Thank you, this is very helpful. I have been working as an IT for 5 years now and I had fixed/resolved endless IT issues but I find it hard to explain how.
I just wanted to say thank you! I got the job and I start next Monday. My interview was heavily focused on Domain and access control list. They first asked me what is the reg editor. They then asked what is a domain and what may be the reason a user is not showing in the domain. How do you add a user to a domain. The last question was what is an ip address.
During my technical interview my plan was so great. I brought a laptop with me and showed your video questions and answers to my interviewer. He said to me, your are one of a kind unbelievably genius. You're hired!.
With no prior experience. I was able to use this video as a preparation guide, and was able to secure the L2 service support rep position. Thank you sooooo much.
I can't express my feelings. thank you very much I just got my first job in IT field and start next week because of your content. I have got all the questions in this video
Had the interview on Wednesday, this came in handy, one feedback the interviewer gave in a scenario was always ask user what error is on screen. Edit: Got the job 😊
Agree. That will at least help you try to narrow down the problem. In my experience working in school tech support, I usually have to ask the user if they have any error message on screen otherwise, they don't usually provide that information which can make it very difficult to remotely troubleshoot.
Well I just wanna say this beautiful lady explained everything very smooth and passionately, I am going to rewatch this video so I can save these in my brain 🧠!
Just found this channel. The interview questions and answers were great. I just retired from law enforcement and passed the 1001 portion of A+. Studying for 1002. U r so right when it comes to problem solving. In law enforcement u solve problems every day. Thanks so much. Please keep up the good work. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks for this comment. I have an interest in true crime and I see the exact same problem solving process in criminal investigations. It's so common across various fields, including cybersecurity as well. I currently work as desktop support. Your experience in law enforcement will help you with stressful customer service situations as well. I don't know what area of law enforcement you worked, but if you can handle a domestic violence situation with professionalism, you have what it takes for this job as well.
After taking extensive notes, I will now move on to the review process. Hopefully my interview goes well tomorrow. This video taught me a lot and prepared me well.
Have an interview in 2 hours, no prior experience but have my A+, Network+, and CCNA. Struggle is real to land a job in this field without prior experience but hoping this goes well...
Hey Ben, Having some certs shows the interviewer that you are motivated to get into the IT field. That goes a long way. All the best with your interview. Let us know how it goes.
@@SkillsBuildTraining Interview went fairly well I thought. It was 20 questions (explain TCP/IP, what is DNS, what is BGP, what kind of routing protocol is OSPF, etc.) I will have a second interview Monday afternoon done through Teams. The guy today told me they will ask questions until I can’t answer anymore. It’s a NOC position, so gonna be spending what time I have to really review my network+ and CCNA material. Thanks for the upload.
Idk if you check the comments or not but although a lot of these questions weren't on my interview. These questions and answers have actually helped me troubleshoot lol so it's not only an "Interview Questions and Answers" they're also troubleshooting questions and answers
Really good question setup however i feel some of them are more of network administrator role as i am one so i can see where this is going but it is such a fine line in IT its impossible not to cross it.
hey lauren thanks so much . bcs of you i passed the interview . i wanted to thank you in private and even give you some tips for the next video you should do!! thanks again!
Thank you for making this video. It is helpful to me for my interview. I was wondering how i am going to do it and your video serves me a beautiful things to know about. Good job you did !!!
@@SkillsBuildTraining i just got out the interview! It went so much better than expected! I'm very excited, even if i don't get the position the manager told me she wants to meet every three months to follow up and help me move up in IT and meet everyone.
Some harder technical questions are asked to judge how much you know about IT. Not knowing all of them won't exactly disqualify you from the position. It's fine to say that you are not sure how it works. Just don't make stuff up.
Very helpful video. I have managed to get my first IT job and this video prepared me for some questions 😁. The only thing I don't like is fake and unnatural face expression during reading questions. Otherwise top quality 👌. Thank you guys!
@@yinkaogun3778 you mean, how long did I study this video? I watched like 2-3 times prior my interview. What I've been asked for is, what is DHCP and what is DNS. Later I was asked about experience related to Linux, Microsoft 365 and VM's. Other questions was related to CCTV and VoIP phones because that will be part of my job too. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. ✌️
Tomorrow is my interview I came searching for interview questions Started watching your video rather watching the questions I got focused on you Because you are so beautiful 😍
Absolutely, "I am a perfectionst" as a weakness should be avoided. It has been run into the ground since "multitasking" became a thing. Ideally choose a weakness that is not directly related to the type of work you are applying for, like shyness of public speaking for a non customer-facing job.
Been thinking of studying to get into IT but I can't imagine myself ever knowing how to answer all these questions in such detail! It's rather overwhelming, how on earth do people do it? 😅
Practice! Lots of it especially hands-on, a passion for solving problems and the desire to learn and improve on an ongoing basis. It took me about 6 months of school and 1.5 years in a help desk role with intensive training, troubleshooting a myriad of different issues and now there are some issues I can literally solve with my eyes closed and my wireless headset in. If you keep at it you will get there! Good luck.
@@SkillsBuildTraining Thank you Lauren! Your video resource was extremely helpful. I got an offer today!! Thank you for helping me start my first position 😊
Thank you so much for this very detailed answers to the most frequently asked questions in Desktop Support and Help Desk. Much appreciated! although the audio in this video kinda sounds weird
Hi Thank you for this amazing video. You really helped me a lot to crack my interview. I prepared according to your interview questions only :) and I can't thank you enough for this wonderful video..
Thank you for the video, it is very useful. Please can you upload a video related to the competency based question of the Help Desk support role. It would really be helpful.
God you saved my life. God bless you!! Thank you so so much. About 15 questions were in my interview that I could’ve completely look like an idiot on the verbal assessment interview
I laughed out loud at the answer to question 19 when I imagined how helpdesk was allowed to enter the enterprise grade firewall and he started doing something there!
Hi Lauren , Thanks to upload this ,Really it's a very help full to crack the interview. if you have any update or latest Desktop Support interview Question and Answers so please upload and Also you can share me in PDF .Thanks in Advance .
Hi Nitin, We don't have a PDF, but here is the text version: www.skillsbuildtraining.com/help-desk-and-desktop-support-interview-questions-and-answers/
