My first TV was a small Toshiba, which lasted 3 decades without a hitch. When I purchased my second TV in 2010 I went to Toshiba again and it has performed exceptionally well with a clear picture and no issues at all. I am still watching that TV now (2022). Based on my own personal experience, I will buy a Toshiba again, when the time comes to purchase a new TV.
I had many and currently 65 inch Samsung 4k smart tv. I still got my Sony 20 inch that I brought back in 2007 and am still working strong. Japanese made, and I wouldn't get rid of it because I really don't know how long these fancy tvs of these days will last for!
For "MOST PEOPLE" it comes down to "PRICE" Despite all the specs, and bells and whistles, most consumers are looking for the best bang for the buck AND I don't believe "MOST" consumers are interested in spending more than a thousand bucks on a tv.... Just saying
4 years ago, I shopped for a 65" TV. I looked at LG Oleds and Samsung Qleds that were playing in the electronics stores. Of course, the TV's on display are playing constantly throughout the business day, so getting a lot of use. While the Oled produced a nice picture when working properly, I saw some where the screen looked terrible from image "burn-in", apparently from the long playing times. That to me was an indication of what would happen over time at home. So, I was not going to take a chance on an Oled for such an expensive purchase. The Qled produced a beautiful picture too, without the risk of burn-in, so I got the Samsung. Still going with no trouble for over 4 years old now, and I'm delighted with it. I'm surprised they still sell Oleds with the problems they've had. Unless they've cured the burn-in problem in the last 4 years, I'd stay away from any Oled.
My LG in 77 inch hits the sweet spot for size. I still have to close my eyes or quickly change channels during some commercials with bright white backgrounds.Nano is the best- no burn in except your eyes. Beware brightens claims -these TVs can blind you.
@@petemoy9021 Thats not for certain, friend. My sources have informed me that 33 was 8P before 66 became downspiraled from Jack Handy's five winds 24 minus a half totem pole made from crap pinewood bark dried in the oven for 6 hours -12
I have a TCL 65 inch google TV and all works fine. Picture is great as far as I am concerned. Bluetooth works great too. The sound bar is wonderful sounds. I also looked at several different models like LG etc.
I bought a 50 inches Samsung flat screen 4 years ago and last week the bottom right corner overheated and the image disappear. Now the tv doesn't work anymore...at a cost of a 1000$ dollars, I was expecting at least 10 years without problem.
We bought a 55" LG C2 OLED earlier this year from Costco. Compared the picture to Sony, Samsung, and others at two other stores. and the LG was easy to choose over the others. Definitely no disappointment in our purchase. First TV we've ever bought where we have NEVER changed the picture settings since we plugged it in - didn't need to do that. It's currently on sale at Costco for $1299.00 ($300 under what we paid). Don't know if the 65" version would be any different in picture quality, but I'd guess it would be just as good.
Your decision is best you made. That is right that LG has best OLED screen. Any oled tv made by any brand in that oled screen is always made by LG. In my opinion i notice huge difference in OLED and QLED screen. Oled picture in way ahead of qled
LG IS CRAP. SONY I HAD FOR YEARS TROUBLE FREE IS MY NO1 BRAND FOR TVS AND ORHER appliances. LG is a crap brand I wouldn't trust, no matter if the rubbish had a five-star rating. I wouldn't trust it,it would be like owning an American car that wouldn't last like a Toyota Japanese made.. 😂
@Satveer Singh curry is coming on the screen. You don't know what you are talking about. LG is crap and wouldn't last like Sony and Samsung lifespan. LG is crap and I wouldn't have the bs in my household. If I had bad eyesight, LG would look bloody beautiful, lol. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
No Panasonic either I have been going through reviews for a 65 inch upgrade and have not come across one person that has any complaint with a Panasonic.
Bought a TCL a few years back in Australia, srarted to freeze up, took forever to start up and it eventually went pop after just 2 years. Yes, feature rich and not a bad picture, but the circuitry is obviously not designed to last long. . Took it to a tv repair shop and they said throw it in the skip...😔 Now have Sony and Samsung in the house and very pleased.
Omg we have a 70” TCL and it’s driving us nuts. You turn it on and it takes forever to click on a channel and keeps reverting back to BBC1. it’s like it has to warm up. I’m thinking of getting a Samsung 65” OLED
My Hisense 75U7G has variable refresh rate, and Dolby atmos, Dolby vision IQ, HDR10+, IMAX enhanced, along with a 120 Hz panel. And ALLM for gamers. It checks all the boxes, and the picture is amazing, with black levels to rival OLED, without crushing shadow areas, and it is now selling for under $1000 in some places, it originally sold for $1500.
Marian, I remember when Hisense first hit the market, they seemed like budget tv's Some thing you buy when you just want a tv, no frills. Now, I've noticed they're really upped their game and they are getting high rating and great features and of course, a fantastic picture.
@James Horton Hi james, yeah, I got 1 of those about five years ago. The sixty inch 60H6E for $349.00 on sale from $548.00. It performed better than I expected, for its price. It still works great as a bedroom TV, and the picture is just as good as TVs selling for 2 and even 3 times the price.
We bought a samsung led in 2010 46" that is still going strong.. then something in their quality has changed.. since we have purchased a 55" curve that i need repair because the defusers have fallen off.. also we purchased all samsung kitchen appliances.. in less than 4 years tfe dishwasher has failed alonh with the over the range microwave . My advise .. steer clear of anything with the samsung name
Note that specs for the same model may be very different in different countries. For example, US gets VA panels for their Hisense U8H while Asia gets IPS panels for the very same TV. Do confirm your local details before deciding. A better list would be: 1. Hisense U8H 2. TCL R655 3. Sony A90K 4. Samsung S95B 5. LG G2
Just got LG65" A2 Series last black Friday i heard LG is better than samsung and sony. As a hotel maintenance engineer a lot of Samsung doesn't longer compare to LG TV's in living. Each room our hotel 2 TV's 1 in bedroom is samsung and 1 in living room is LG a lot of problem in samsung tv's
The best 65nch tv is the one you as an ndividual enjoy subject to it having the functionality you need. Don’t get fooled by the ‘most accurate’ picture stuff. In my case it was a Phillips that won me over. I really prefer the warmer look even if its not technically as perfect. As for the chinese tv’s, yes they are great value but have yet to see one I dont prefer a european / korean / japanese one too and am willing to pay the extra for. Others may not agree.
Horses for courses one might say. 👀We looked to upgrade our Samsung 55inch and explored most of the makes available within a budget of up to 1000. Overall the winner was the Hisense U7G (European model). It was the outright winner at just £749 I kid you not.. (general price around £900 ) a bargain. Quality, connections, features.. just wiped the floor with a lot of the more expensive makes AND the overall picture quality is excellent. Why would we spend an extra £500 plus on ie a Sony manufactured in Turkey?? Most of the sales pitch is hype.. We were fans of Sony from the early days of ie the Trinitron BUT now?? Hisense kicked their butts.. Yes we actually considered the Phillips tvs.. OK. BUT the Hisense again with its price and features still convinced us. Quality build and having had it for over a year now absolutely NO issues. Yes the Dolby Atmos actually works on it unlike some major tv brands where purchasers had problems hooking up their gear et. I totally agree with you re functionality. If you're going to use it for ie gaming then why spend extra on a tv for that?
@@arthurdanielles4784 YOU re-make my point exactly. You purchased what looked best for you rather than something that produced great test results. For me the Hi Sense wasn't in the same ball park as the Phillips but thats for me. We don't all want the same things out of a picture... Also in your case this did save you money!
The biggest mistake buyers make is NOT sitting down taking a pen and paper and working out WHAT and WHERE you are going to use the tv you are thinking of buying. SIZE matters is sooo true! DON'T buy something that clearly is going to be TOO BIG.. a small room can be a problem for ie a 65inch tv but perfect for a 55!! I started with a 55 and moved up to 65 inch. Perfect BUT we would NOT go bigger. 👀Remember what you regularly view on that tv also plays a big factor... Some displayed images can be smaller and NOT upscaled on a tv, upscaling can cause distortion and blur.. If you are NOT using it for ie gaming WHY spend an 100s more on one that will?? 😶Don't be put up by the China bashing community .. Our latest tv is a Hisense 65inch U7G which we now have had for over a year and it is superb. Previously a Samsung 55 inch tv no probs with that BUT there are distinct differences between that and the Hisense which is much sharper and clearer. PLUS the Hisense has Dolby AND Atmos plus extra HDMI ports et. Optical out is also excellent. Overall that tv (UK) cost £749 BUT was bought at a much lower price due to discounted offer et👀 KEEP your eyes and ears open re times when you CAN sometimes get substantial price cuts.👍 OK Sony tv's .. over the years from the legendary Trinitron we were fans of Sony products.. OVER the past decade however we find they are over priced and like Samsung now.. still pushing hype for some of their products deliberately to keep prices inflated. DON'T be fooled by NOT shopping around re other makes et.. Some can offer exceptional tvs at 100s less and still with good guarantees! 👀Lastly energy concerns et ? Most new TVs use relatively LOW amounts of power. Our Hisense is about that of an average 100w lightbulb..65inch vs The 55inch Samsung could be as high as 200 watts ... Good point re WHERE and in WHICH COUNTRY you buy the tv model et Model numbers by manufacturers can be a real pain in the butt. The model specs can also vary.. and not just whether it is an IPA panel or a VA panel. Sometimes the specs shown won't even tell you that.. 😶Is IPS better than VA? Here's the final takeaway: In a room watching the tv from the side on?? IPS panels are significantly better than VA panels when it comes to viewing angle and somewhat better than VA panels when it comes to colour. Directly looking at the tv? VA panels, however, almost always offer deeper black levels and better overall contrast.
A6G is Hisense's very old model and at least 2 years old...should look for the U8H mini-LED ULED models for 2023. The Hisense 65U8H is right around $1000.
This list needs some HEAVY edits, not just to the picks, but the information. TCL and Hisense have come to play ball and often compete/beat out aspects of OLED Sony’s and Samsung/LG. They also have features like Dolby Atmos and HDR 10. Please review this as less informed people will not know that to be false info.
Ive always bought LGs I am still watching a 55in 12 years old one that cost a lot of money back then ,but want to upgrade to a 65inch but looking at review's it looks a minefield now, lots of reviews on these modern LGs not so good, maybe the old ones like mine where made better.
IMO Sony upscaling, and picture clarity are second to none and I have found Sony to be EXTREMELY reliable after years of use on BOTH Sonys that I owned.
I am on my 6th Samsung tv in 10 years. I get the 3 year warranty and it usually burns out before the 3 years is up hence a new tv. A couple of the 6 were complete duds and lasted less than a month. I recommend Samsung unless you don’t want a new tv every couple of years.
So if I am watching 720p and sometimes 1080p video I need these top of the line TVS? Heck no! I will NEVER get to watch 4K shows nor will pay for the premium to stream it. I do have an Xbox Series X hooked up to my smaller LG 4K.
I don't play games, but I do get over-the-air, antenna tv. And I watch UHD. You're missing out dude and dudettes out there, besides, they don't make those 300-pound CRTs anymore that needed a nearby power plant to run and you could count pixels on an actor's face like pimples on friends, seriously, $500 and less for a 65" that will blow your eyeballs away, you deserve it, treat yourself from the days when I grew up and a 19" black/white TV was a big deal.
I first tv was an LG 43" led tv. It lasted 2 years because it was hit by lightening. I replaced it with another 43" led tv that I'm currently using. I checked out the LG 65" oled 65c2, and I thought that it is a very impressive tv. But I discovered that the tv does not have the RCA jacks for me to be able to connect my dvd player to the tv. I still like the LG 65" oled c2 tv though.
Same bloody issue with Samsung 65-inch 4k smart tv that isn't smart after all. No RCA Jack's to connect my DVD player. I still got my old 16 year old Sony with the RCA jack and HDMI as well. I should have brought a Sony 65 inch.😅
lists like this don't mean a lot when you're talking about the top tvs - it's all highly subjective. for me, i'd never own a samsung and i'd go with sony over LG due to motion/upscaling. again, thgough, it's a down to the individual and their preference. my advice is don't buy according to a list - buy something once you've seen it and researched it's features to make sure it meets your needs.
Sony is the best of the bunch. I have the A80J and love it. The A90J is even better. but the upscaling can't be beat and you don't have to use Tizen OS.
@@Swimmingforlife. The A95k is the only good sounding Sony TV. I just bought an X95k. I love the picture but am disappointed with the sound. My 2007 Sony Bravia with the speakers on the front sounded so much better.
I agree about Sony upscaling. 90% of what people watch is in 1080 which gets upscaled. Sony upscaling is Superior to Samsung, LG or any other brand period. I have also found Sony to be VERY reliable. I had 2 Sonys that still had amazing picture color and clarity after 10 years. My Samsung was ok but I did notice that after about 7 years the colors were not as vibrant as they were when the tv was 2 years old. No such problem with Sony
Panasonic left the US market in 2016. We have 2 Panasonic plasma units (I believe they are '13 and '14 models) and they are the best TVs we've ever owned.
My first large screen TV was "Hisense" 50 inch with a two year warranty. It had a great picture but died a little after the two year warranty expired. I was disappointed over it only lasting basically 2 years. I have now the "Samsung" 65 inch TV for probably 4 years now and have not had a problem with it, except I thought it was a little expensive at the time. $3500. bucks.
I also bought a 65" Samsung Q-led (QN65Q9FN) about 4 years ago. You're right, they were expensive in the local stores. I think I saw them for about $3200, but once you add tax, it's more of course. So, I shopped online and found an eBay discounter that sold the exact same TV's, new for $2400, with free shipping. And at that time, you didn't have to pay tax to eBay. So, I got lucky. Still a lot of money for a TV to me, but I it was the most impressive TV I'd seen compared to the other TV's available at that time. And a brand that I trust, since my computer monitor is also Samsung and has lasted forever. So, I splurged for it, and very happy with it to this day as well. No problems.
@@grand73am At least you scored compared to my purchase. I also got a 4K player even know I had plenty of DVD players but that brought up the price. I was happy with the "Hisense" until it died which was barely after the warranty expired which drove me to buy the "Samsung." I also got the 32inch "Samsung" curved monitor, which I enjoy to this day. Played a lot of games on it and I was always satisfied with the graphics. I did put it on an arm so I could move it around whenever I wanted to use my desk instead of the hard stand.
@David Rook I had a lot of bad luck along the way and about to buy a 42-inch, but bad luck would pop up. So very lucky to purchase this at Harvey Norman's on sale. Cash sale.. 💸
I am curious where would the C1 fall in this list? 4th, 2nd? Yes it's an older model not as good as the C2. Just because it's older doesn't mean it is better than some new screens.
The C1 is better than the C2 in several ways, the only things better about the C2 are the slightly higher brightness and the newer processor. But it removed the BFI feature for gamers and motion is not quite as good from what I hear. The C1 would be at the top of this list as well, especially since you can get the 65" for only $1500 here in the states now, which I just did 5 days ago lol. I absolutely adore the TV, it's fantastic.
@@jamesw657 I see, ty for the details. In Canada the best price is 2000.00 a little lower than 1500.00 usd by about 50.00. There was a C2 sale 2400.00 (1741.00 usd) but it included a Klipsch soundbar and sub.
Ive been looking to upgrade to 65 and have been going through hundreds of videos and reviews on Tvs all year and let me tell you my LG is 12 years old its never faltered was expensive when new, but all I have seen are complaints about LG now saying there not as good as the old ones the best I have seen are Sony and the best of all for no complaints is Panasonic a brand no one mentions but its well up there for its reliability and picture quality's, time for a change I think.
Pretty good except for the Hisense...their A series TVs are garbage. Only their U series are worth considering...the U8 would come in above the TCL for sure.
@@validconsumer Agreed. I was a bit leery of the OLED because the small chance of a 'burn in" situation, but after talking to a few OLED TV owners, and from what we've seen with our LG - non-issue.
I repair TV's for a living and have no clue why you mentioned the Sony A90J instead of the QD-OLED A95K, it blows the A90J out of the water with ridiculous color accuracy, vividness, and brightness of colors. It absolutely destroys the LG G2, as much as I hate repairing Sony's incredibly overcomplicated designs they definitely should be at the top. Blind tests from professional video editors and calibrators have the LG G2 in 4th place (behind Samsung S95B and Sony's A95K made with Samsung's panel)
@@sgtserenityx Fair enough, I'm on Android so I've resigned to leaving my Samsung unplugged from the internet and using Google TV since they already have all of my info lol
@@alivstyson1864 most TV's bought 10+ years ago will last 10 years, now they are engineered to outlast their warranty so you have to keep buying a TV every 2-4 years. If we fix a 10 year old TV it will 99% of the time last longer than a brand new one. They really don't make them like they used to, we actually encourage extended warranties because their lifespan has gotten so short. Years ago we would have considered an extended warranty a scam and now we highly recommend them lol
To me, Sony is no 1 brand that I truly trust, and I never had no issues and still got my Sony 20-inch tv that I brought back in 2007. The shop offers extra warranty, but I never brought it because over the years, I have brought Sony TVs,DVD players, and stereos with no issues at all. People who rate Sony poorly haven't got a clue sorry to say to those who say that 😐 Sony is the best .
Sorry, I will stick with LG and Samsung, whichever is cheaper at Costco, or BJ's. Buy it, load it in my SUV and away I go to my home. Usually sets up in 15 minutes.
@@validconsumer The problem is that even with "moderate" burn in risk when you consider the price tag on OLED tvs its a hard pill to swallow in the event burn in happens. At 800 bucks I would be willing to roll the dice but not upwards of 1600
Panasonic is pure trash now, worst service and support ever and their TVs suck for gaming. Panasonic is pulling their TVs from more and more markets, including US, for a reason. They are dying and their UI looks like it's 20 years old in comparison to Sony, Samsung and LG.
