Thanks so much for this review & bringing this model to my attention...almost bought another brand that was more expensive and did not have all these features! Just got mine...couldn't find this new model anywhere until now...Amazon finally has these in stock...make certain you get this new model RS5825B-10, not the old model...this one has the newer features, including a more compact shape, brushless motor, counter balance gear box, Pwr Jump charger, battery with USB charging, & dual led lights. Can't wait to try it out...looks like it will be perfect for my needs! Will be using it first to do some major pruning in my backyard and along my fence row. Thanks again!
They haven’t been able to crush it on their own, I’ll tell you that much. I’d like to see one patent they’ve come up with on their own. Because they’ve reverse engineered the hell out of the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hackzall.
You're starting to see some of these older tool companies making a comeback especially skill tools and Hilti tools I'm making a run at the market but it's good to see because more competition means better prices for the consumer😎👊✌🇺🇸
You're the reason I have started picking up their 12v line for lighter duty tasks. I will say their 12v tools seem just as powerful as the 6 year old 20v tools I have.
So I just bought a Millywahkay 18V FUEL hacksaw tonight. I picked it as the “free tool” when I bought the Fuel kit with impact driver and hammer drill along with the two 5.0ah batteries and charger. Then I get home and see this Skil version. Sure looks like a Milwaukee!
When it comes to cutting Unistrut, conduit, threaded rod. . . any of the metal stuff, I love the hand held, M18 bandsaw; I just find that I get cleaner, straighter cuts than with any type of reciprocating saw.
Yo Vince, you know just as well as I do that the Skil power core line of tools is straight owning other competitors. You know me and I've said before I own the skill line of tools and not one has broken down on me yet in over a year of hard work and hard abuse.
Wouldn’t mind seeing this up against the Milwaukee in a ttr. Just to see how it does and show the consumers and diyers how it does against a professional grade tool
Having the USB port on the batteries is great for being on jobs and reviewing drawings, mark ups, etc on a lap top without having power everywhere in the space.
It looks as though the Skill engineers did some major reverse engineering on the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hackzall. The counterbalanced main gear is a feature of both the M12 and M18 Fuel Hackzalls. I’d like to see how the Skill performs against the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hackzall, utilizing a 6 amp HO or 8 amp HO battery. Testing should always be done with the best battery paired to the tool, in order to get the best performance.
That would be such an unmatched contest. The Skil being 12v already and they only offer a 4ah battery as the largest option. And you’re saying to test it against the 18v Milwaukee and use a much larger battery with the 6 or 8ah. That test would not be a fair match by any means.
@VCG Construction. Hey Vince. Nice small recip saw with a articulating shoe. But no shoe adjustment? Like other companies that gives me one but not the other. Nice one inch stroke cut length. Great review and demo. Clean that saw up, put in a new blade, and oil it with some olive oil and you can use it to carve up some turkey and ham at your dinner table. Just in time for Thanksgiving. Hope you and your family stay safe and well.
I'll say it again.. Skil needs to offer these tools as a bare tool purchase option. They're making loyal customers pay more for a battery and charger when they may not need it.
Hey Vince, I noticed in the video that beautiful vise. Can you tell me the brand and price ?? Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and videos Rodney PS Hello to the Mrs.
I still use the first gen M12 drill, impact and hacksaw! I love them but, truth be told, they need to be upgraded! My buddy has the Fuel versions, and I'm jealous!
@@ChristopherJohnson-zd8sx i have all fuel tools, but ive adopted the skil line as a secondary line.. here's why, their new rear handled circ saw is an absolute MONSTER and the lrice point couldnt be beat as far as milwaukee ls new 7 1/4" saws.. the quality of these new skil tools are worth having for back ups also! And the price its a no brainer!. I may be stepping out on the edge when i say these are a step down from milwaukee..but im just calling it for what it it truley is
Hi, I have a question, would you define Skil as professional or industrial use? I mean the sabre saw... Thank you, best regards from Santiago de Chile...
Hey vince, have u used the 12v one handed skil recip saw and if u have would it be worth gettin. I have the skil 12v multitool and am looking for a one handed recip saw.
Hello Vincent, your video and explanation of that Skil saw is great, well I always watch your videos and I wanted to buy the Dewalt 20 atomic. or the Dewalt 368 xr or the Bosch or the Milwaukee. but I see that the skil is at the level of the Milwaukee or the Bosch, even at the level of Hilti... cordial greetings from Santiago de Chile atte Jaime 💪😎🛠️
i never understood how tool companies determined what voltage they do next but i thank that 12 volt i catching up with 18 volt tools and they need a new battery size to make big tools viable agin i keep thanking 24 volts would be easer to do
That skil looks a ton smaller and more compact as well a lighter then Milwaukee and other companies models including the dewalt models wow @Vcgconstruction
Ya know, some things don’t have manuals....as they online only now. That’s fine, long as brand maintains the site & doesn’t shutdown when tool is “old”, making error 404 pop up Do like batt covers👍🏻 Yep, Skil taking a left years ago when they should stayed straight or even taking a right....woulda been great. The “odd” years of Skil tools are imo, not the greatest (me being nice😉). Like every Brand has this style one hand recip saw; which hey, if it works....why not😄. Dual LED lights, that’s nice, & a pivot shoe is awesome! Wish someone, cough cough Milwaukee, would update there saw & make 2 lights, pivot shoe, & make the shoe adjustable; as that would be awesomeness Thx Vince & Nick for editing✌🏼
My question is why not toss a bag in? Everyone I’ve bought was in a box will no bag or case, as a plumber it would be nice to carry the tools around in a bag/case, I will say it’s not going on the job site with me well the reciprocating saw my lol
LOL! Right? It’s almost like they took the Milwaukee nameplate off the Hackzall and replaced it with the Skill nameplate. They added an additional led and made the stroke length an additional 1/8”. Skill’s reverse engineering department was working overtime here!
It looks like a duplicate of the Milwaukee M18 fuel ripsaw it's got the same shape but skill makes some pretty good circular saws I don't have to tell you that so I wouldn't see why not that they couldn't make this a good Sawzall also
@@martylucas8557 you have Milwaukee M18 Sawzall and you also have Milwaukee M18 small Sawzall so instead telling my guys to go get me the Sawzall I've heard people call it a ripsaw so is that okay because technically they are two different tools even though they do the same thing
@@josephmalinowski6817, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised coming from someone who never uses punctuation. What’s the deal anyway? Did you hate English Class so much that you vowed never to use a punctuation mark again, as long as you live? LOL! No, but seriously...did you? Besides being just one massive run on sentence without punctuation marks it makes you one dimensional. I mean if it’s just a matter of not liking the 14 punctuation marks themselves have you attempted to spell them out? Example: The name of the one handed Milwaukee recip saw is the Hackzallperiod or Skill has ripped off the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hackzall designcomma don’t you agree question mark So here’s the deal... The Milwaukee one handed recip saw actually has a name, e.g. Hackzall. No one says ripsaw. They may say recip or reciprocating or one handed recip/reciprocating, but not ripsaw. Not just because no one says it, but it has the connotation of “ripping” or “tearing” the material apart.
@@martylucas8557 trust me I'm not worried about anything about you I'll just keep doing that's allowing me to buy my third rental house plus the house I live in so as soon as I'm done I will forget about you because you are nothing to me
Gotta add, when the company that adds USB-C port on their batteries, it’s gonna be interesting. Especially if say a 12.0 HD battery can charge a laptop😳 12:13 “Slightly” banged up 6x6 🤣🤣¹ ¹FYI: edited to add this comment
Now take that into the woods and trim some dead limbs. Let's see how it stacks to Milwaukee's M18 FUEL Hackzall vs some of the worst trees you can encounter.
I just put up a raw and uncut unboxing video of the Milwaukee M18 Fuel oscillating multi-tool everybody check it out if you want a closer look. I just got it from Acme.
A lot of butthurt milwaukee fanboys commenting here. News flash, they are not the best tool on the market. Good on Skil taking aim at other DIY/ Prosumer brands like Ryobi and ridged. Don’t worry fan boys, your Milwaukee isn’t in any danger.
Appreciate you and this video. I wonder if I could get my son to buy me one for this up coming pagan tradition y'all call Christmas when y'all Christians ignore Jeremiah 10:2 but why not? After all you also ignore Where your bible says My people destroy themselves for lack of knowledge and Come out of her my people. Since I learned the truth about the KJV it's been in my drawer only coming out once in a great while. Your modern KJV is a copy of the textus receptus found in the vatican and has nothing to do with King James.
