@@cheser1987 you basically dont have to be professional in singing because if you were you would be already an Idol looonnggg time ago. They will teach you how to find your singing voice and you’ll improve with the time. Even in rapping its the same. Just fight for it and dont give up :)

Took me very long to gain my confidence. To anyone who has a dream, please don’t let fear get in the way. I don’t want you to make the Same mistakes as me. Great video Irene. I think people should know that if you're serious about being an artist you wouldn't worry about age etc. Believe in what you're trying to achieve. Also its okay to wanna be in Kpop but its important to consider the industry in countries you live too. One can be successful in any language and music industry because its art it knows no barriers. Kpop is just one avenue to create your art consider more options. Best of luck to all.

I do think it's important to never lose hope. No matter the age that you're in. You always can do music nonetheless. A lot of smaller companies accept older trainees and even some foreign idols like Alex and Fatou both started in Kpop when they were in their 20's. It's always great to consider other opportunities too like working in the industry in the background like background vocals, producing, songwriting or even being a background dancer. There's also many shows in Korea where you can participate as a singer whilst being a foreigner. You can also make Kpop inspired music and not necessarily be a Kpop idol. Even while living in Korea there's many other singing opportunities like festivals and events. And if you want to do acting or modeling in Korea, that's even more inclusive when it comes to age. So there's always opportunities. You only need to believe in yourself and work on yourself to be in the best shape of yourself that you can be.

Abt the age range, I'm actually worrying abt it rn cuz Ik I'm still young and I'm 16 rn but I'm kinda scared to turn 18 cuz I might not be accepted by the companies, and rn I'm trying my best to audition as much as many as I can so companies will accept me but I didn't have a response to anyone yet and it's already been a year since the time I started auditioning so I'm kinda worried abt it but thank u so much Irene for giving us hope to still go for our dreams, I will continue this journey and not gonna lose hope to reach my dreams💖

im 13 (about to turn 14 in June) and i want to audition as soon as possible because from my point of view my dancing is the best as I'm learning it from 9 years and i am good in rapping to also pretty good in singing. but I'm not sure weather i will be selected i am just scared and what if I go wrong somewhere? like if i audition for singing what if i crack? and if i audition for dancing what if i look awkward? i just have negative thoughts coming in my mind and i am not even sure when i should audition

Don't let fear take over your dreams! You will regret it, my friend. Also, if something goes wrong during the audition, just keep going. You can audition as many times as you want, so keep auditioning, the companies will see your improvement and growth. Make sure to have confidence as well. Fighting!! 🥰

@@cheser1987 they should take either one, but I wouldn't do contemporary unless you are FULLY confident, because if may be awkward to watch for them, so, prepare your own dance beforehand and practice it. Also, if the auditioning crew allow you to use music, use it! Really just give it a shot, you know? If they don't pass you, oh well, try again! If they do, great!

Hi Irene! Not really related to this video, but do you think participating (and almost winning) on The Voice is a good "award" for an auditionee to talk about on their self introduction? Or do you think it can be bad for us to participate on this kind of program?

You’re so helpful. My friend’s youngest sister is currently 10, and she wants to be a K-pop idol. So she asked me to ask you “if I audition and pass, do I have to go to Korea? I don’t want to stay away from my family at 10! And school. It feels unsafe.” So is she supposed to audition and 10 right now? And if she passes, is she required to go to Korea? You can just zoom nowadays right? Honestly, I wanna know too.

@Heyo: I know she was one and I know of others who were at least between 23-35. Im more curious about my age and up. Regardless of Gen. so like Gen 1 through current (tho I doubt there’s a lot in Gen 4)

I am 12 (turning 13 this aug) and I always say that I’ll be doing some vocal lessons, excercise etc. but I am so lazy and on my mob the whole day that I can’t even do it TvT also I am thinking to audition when I am atleast 14-16 (and yes I haven’t told this to my parents yet but I’ll tell them once am prepared) so Irene if you have any productivity tips (to be less lazy or sum lol) so please do share !!

I remember in my middle school thinking “well im 14 I still have time!”. Fast forward 4 years later, I’m already 18 & need to get in college and by the time everything’s settled in my life I’d already be 19-20 before I could try auditioning😭 thank you for this video, it gave me hope & motivation.
