No problem using hose clamps? I’ve never used the little hose clamps for any more than 14psi. Fuel and oil! If they can hold up to 50 psi would be great! As for cutting hose’s my wife’s anvil pruners work perfect!
I've had this thing for about 4 years and barely ever use it. I've probably used it a total of 20 times. Now I can't even fill up a single tire with it without it shutting off. I think it's overheating, but I don't know how to fix it.
The compressor's overpressure relief value is popping open at around 160psi when you close your value. Those compressor's aren't made to run like that. All of the fittings come open flow for a reason. The valve stem quick connect you put on should be of open flow design too.
Replace the regular ball valve you put in there with a three way (diverter) valve. That type valve will shut air off to the tire, but allow air to bleed out a second outlet in the valve. Amazon has three way valves too.
I believe Amazon offers that same quick connect in open or closed configuration. Get the open one. Keep the compress running while you go from tire to tire and the air will just bleed out of the open quick connect. That'd probably be the quickest way to get aired back up.
Don’t do this with the smaller smittybilt. I don’t think it has the same pressure release system and you’ll probably burn it up. In that case you need to insert some sort of shut off valve that shuts off the tire side but allows free flow on the compressor side while active - I did it on mine prior to upgrading to an onboard system.
