Yeah it was very quiet as I suspect a lot of the traffic would have been from the intra-middle east first class pax.

From your reviews and my own experience these lounges have their own peculiarities. The decor, food and drink they offer, the amenities, and fees, all can vary often with litle rhyme or reason. It's all part of the adventure of travel. My personal favoirite amenity is the shower. Thank you for your review of this rather spectacular lounge.

Thanks John. Agreed - it was almost too quiet. My shoes are quite loud and I felt quite self conscious walking around!!! I think it's more quiet than usual because a lot of the short-haul first class flights to other ME countries have stopped.

I can't argue that the lounge itself is stunning, however, my personal taste is for a lounge with a large picture window that fills the room with natural light and gives a view of the apron or tarmac.

Maybe if its too hard to pick one you can recommend more than one. I live in Peru so no first class products anywhere near my country and therefore I should plan ahead the logistics and budget. Hi Paul great video. Quick question: I’m gonna be at this lounge next month. Do you know if they still do 20 minute massages in the spa? I heard that minimum is 50 mins now? I only have about an hour and a half at the lounge and want to fit in a quick back massage followed by jacuzzi and shower. Perhaps a few drinks if I have time! Thanks in advance

A bit shocking that you have to pay for almost everything when you've already put down a lot of money for your ticket to get in there in the first place. Also sad that the buffets are at minimum service because of Ramadan. It's an INTERNATIONAL lounge, all sorts of people will travel through there, not just muslims ...

It looks amazing that's for sure but very much agree that FC pax are not going to be happy in the slightest paying for stuff that many of them consider an entitlement for their custom( the rights and wrongs of which are for another conversation). Many couldn't care less about the actual cost but they'll be livid that they're expected to pay irrelevant of what the product is. The not being allowed to use showers in an exclusive 1st class lounge which chooses to ignore one world and own airline status unless you are staying XX hours is just bizarre imho.

Agreed on both points. The massage should be included and showers should be more accessible, especially in such a hot/humid country! You feel disgusting within minutes of being outside.

I was gonna fly to Doha after i arrived to Auckland, but i was like nope, nevermind, its 17hrs50mins, Because on March i came to Heathrow, and took Qantas Flight 10 to Perth and then Air New Zealand to Auckland, but i decide to go back home to New York so i came from Auckland to Houston and then Houston to New York on Delta Airways, and then on July i will return to Doha in, Qatar.

Hey Paul, i have a flight in F - QR40 CDG-DOH, connecting on to longhaul in J. I understand that it allows Al Safwa access due to the length of the inbound flight in F. However - that would only be if my second flight in J was departing on the same day as I had arrived in F, or if my J flight was departing before 6:00am the next day (it’s not, it’s 8:30am!) - because QR40 gets in so close to midnight (23:25 - and frequently past midnight actually, due to delays), do you have any idea if QR would permit Al Safwa access on a ticket like this please?!

One thing about first class is that everything seems too private for me. I'd rather mingle with other passengers and talk to people. Being by myself at an airport just seems too strange. In business class, it seems there is some interaction possible.

al. safwa lounge is more quite because only their. a380s have first class

would you say qatars first class is worth its price I usually fly on the q suite but I might try the first class but its a lot more in price

@@22kwasi you'll have to check out my review of both the first and Q suite business class. :) First is bigger and wider but Q Suite has the advantage of more privacy AND the TV screen is closer.

@@steveholt9849 yes it’s an amazing lounge. EK First lounge is nice but so big that it probably doesnt feel as special. QR first seat in the A380 is only OK

If you fly business class you can buy access to this lounge for $65, so the majority of kids will be in there for that reason. But yes, people do occasionally take their children in first class. Teenagers not really, but young children often.
