Great review, though not enough dry quips as per the old days. Especially about us poms ! Always great when the reviewer goes the japanese food rather than western. ANA and JAL are still up there for first class it seems.
Hi, Keyboard Expert here. Notice the crinkling of the fuselage skin (1:15). In the HD version of the movie Strategic Air Command (What do mean, you haven't heard of the movie that stars James Stewart and June Allyson) you can actually see the skin crinkling as the aircraft taxis along the apron. Good old pressurisation - you're looking at an 'empty' coke can until it reaches cruise altitude. Next video. Tap, tap tap... 🙃
Also a great shot of the Boeing B-47 Stratojet at (8:56) in the background, from the same film, mentioned above. Jimmy Stewart would be bumping his head on the underside all these aircraft in excitement!
JUST LOGGED ON WATCHING AND YOUR SSS ESSES. ARE CUTTING MY EARS. EVERY TIME YOU SAY A WORD WITH AN S ITS CUTTING MY EARS. PLEASE USE GOOD MICS NOT EXPESSSSIVE ONES
Fabulous views on arrival to Tokyo. I hope to do a Japan visit this year, and would like to use JAL after seeing your film. Thank you for a great video highlighting JAL as top brand airline. I'm ready for the experience. Gary in the UK
There are a lot of ways to convey interest in designs as well as engineering work. Some of them are already established and is designed to continue to impart expertise. Good thing that they are as Incorporated at private sectors and brands for educational assistance and awareness programs. *****THIS IS NON AI Standards of excellence for Communication******* thank you.
Paul, the fact that you are so humble and a nice person gives you all the class you need, you don’t have to be wealthy. I would rather watch somebody like yourself being able to experience and show these amazing cabins rather than someone who was less grateful.
No offence here but I find your voice hard to understand because it seems sort of “trapped “ in your throat most of the time! Any viewers feel the same?!
Every JAL flight I have been on has been unbearably hot (to the point that people complained). As I understand it they set their temperature to 26c which is way too hot for sleeping.
Robert Hoey was in charge of flight testing X15 at Edwards. Very sharp, dedicated and godly man. Met him a number of times. I worked with his wife who also was top notch person.
I think it’s no overstatement to say that the A300 is one of the most important aircraft in history. The wide-body fuselage gave it increased capacity over older aircraft & equal to that of the tri-jets, but the use of two engines instead of 3 or 4 gave it unparalleled fuel efficiency and lower operating & maintenance costs over the competition, in tandem with advanced technology and materials engineering that made it almost singlehandedly revolutionised air travel and pioneered Europe as a leader in aircraft design in an industry that was entirely dominated by American companies at the time.
YOU ARE FORGETTING A VERY IMPORTANT DESIGN CHANGE FROM THE FIRST MODEL OF THE COMET WHICH IS WHAT CAUSE THE INFAMOUS CRASHES !! THE ROUND WIDOWS !! THAT IS WHY YOU SEE ROUND WIDOWS ON THE COMET 4 VERSE THE EARLIER COMET DESIGN !!
@markborotv3688 0 seconds ago Sat in economy area for 11 hrs from SF to Nadi and was miserable. I’m only 5’10” and next to the window. The biggest issue was the seats were made of stone. I tell you is was like cement. My poor back side just could not get comfortable. I tried multiple pillows and alcohol while watching the 1st Star Wars movie hoping to fall asleep. No luck, twisting and turning all night. When we arrived in Fiji, I was surprised to hear my name over the loud speaker intercom in the airport. I was instructed to report to baggage area. “We’re sorry sir but your wife’s 2 bags of luggage are still in Sf do to a broken belt”. That’s just great, no sleep and now and upset wife. I need a drink fast. The luggage showed up 2 days latter. Show less Reply
Paul returns to form with a great trip report. You don't post the most videos but your production quality is always top notch. Thanks for all of the effort you put into these!
No clue what aircraft S/N it was but my dad got a picture of me and one of my brother sitting in the cockpit of the X-15. It was sitting on the ramp out at Edwards AFB in the early 90's, we also got pictures of us kids sitting in the cockpit of the F-15 STOL.
@@PaulStewartAviation No worries! It was next to the ME-262. It was a replica of Kearby's P-47 D-3-RA "Fiery Ginger IV" the last plane he flew before he was downed by a Japanese "Oscar." Kearby's vertical tail fin of "Fiery Ginger IV" was later recovered from the crash site in New Guinea, and is now on public display at the USAAF Museum. But I get it, there were so MANY cool planes and jets there (I was there last month with my son, who's in the USAF) that it's easy to miss one. BTW, Kearby was the first USAAF pilot to be awarded the Medal of Honor. He shot down 22 confirmed Japanese planes and at the time of his death.
It's another amazing review of a spectacular aircraft from a wonderful airlines. I remember that you also flew Apex suite of JL. Can you compare the new and old suite?
@@PaulStewartAviation that makes me really surprised because on the website, the Apex is much wider. I am really glad that JL will bring A35J to LHR in 2024 fiscal year.
All that Collins equipment brings back memories. I've repaired a couple of thousand Collins black boxes for the KC-135 tanker, which was based on the Boeing 707. Mainly the boxes and displays for the instrument landing system, ASQ-141. That includes the ADI, HSI, radio altimeter, a couple of cockpit switch panels and all the associated black boxes that sit down in the equipment bay.
The inside Kinda reminds me of a submarine with 50cal sticking out all around it but with wings always been my favorite bomber during my younger years great video 👍👍
WHAT AN EXQUISITE VIDEO! The new JAL A350-1000 looks ABSOLUTELY STUNNING in First Class! 🤩 I thought your JAL A350-1000 Biz Class review and seat looked amazing but First class is just a whole different level! Also at 2:09 I remember the last time you mentioned the JAL B2707 (that was never made) on your First Class review of the former flagship B777-300ER shows how old a subscriber I am! 😅 EVERYTHING FROM THE LOUNGE, THE SUITE, THE FOOD & THE VIEWS AND MASSIVE WINDOWS LOOK EXQUISITE! 🤯 I hope to fly the new JAL A350-1000 or any JAL aircraft someday but as I mentioned in your Business Class review it, and this First Class video are simply dreams of mine as I will NEVER AFFORD either well, at least until my channel brings in some money! 😂 🤑 Also as cool as an A350 or B777 is I still miss the former Flagship JAL B747s! 😢 Also what INCREDIBLE views at 5:42 as an Avgeek I’d be here all day! However, I’d say the first large jet (large being a wide body) that proved you only needed 2 engines not 3 or 4 goes to Airbus and the twin engined A300 program as it was the first twin engined wide body and at the same time the Boeing 767 it’s closest competitor! Don’t you agree?? Plus before the B777 JAL flew the A300 and B767 that they still fly (the B767-300ER) Also at 7:15 another false statement even though the Airbus A350 was the first Airbus to use carbon fiber so much throughout the plane it’s grandfather the A300 used carbon fiber composites in its construction in the 1970s on its vertical stabilizer (tail fin) horizontal stabilizers, wings and engines just not much fuse lodge like the A330neo and A350 have done. In fact when American Airlines Flight 587 crashed outside of Rockaway in New York City (after departing JFK) in November of 2001, NTSB investigators were concerned that the carbon fiber construction may have contributed to the fatal accident. In the end both the new pilot and the A300’s rudder construction made of carbon fibers were blamed and safety by Airbus and training was very much improved after that but it just shows that the Airbus jets since the A300 have used carbon fibers in at least some of their construction. 😅😂 What a SPECTACULAR Video one of your best ever I certainly think, but I’m biased and love any JAL video or A350 video! “ Wishing You Blue Skies & Tailwinds” my friend! Cheers again mate! 🥂 -Caleb’s Aviation
