I like DR2 better. They sound the same but having said that the DR2 looks better. How ever if you are just running 2ch then i would pick the HC-1

The wattage of the speakers is meaningless ,its the ohm of the speaker that matters when you want to daisy chain 1 set of speakers from another pair of speakers,being your wanting to use 4 ohm speakers I wouldn't recommend it because the load the amp will see is 2 ohms or even lower which very few amps can drive .

Well I had reasons of doing multiple posts. I had worked with Emotiva for 5 months trying them to fix my XPA-7 GEN2 that I put in for a warranty claim for 2 of my channels simultaneously failed, putting my XPA-7 into Fail Safe Mode making it inoperable. They kept stringing me on until the 5 months of going back and forth answering their technical issue questions. Only to ultimately, tell me that my reciept of purchase with date, amount total and place of purchase... My receipt was not enough. That since I did not keep some single warranty paper, of the 100 other papers/manual, that came with my $2000.00 investment. And so now proceeded to tell me after 5 months of correspondence, "Nope, without that paper, we're not going to honor the warranty. Sorry sucka a$$ fool!" So I was so upset, over what was a brilliant sounding piece of equipment, sitting its 119lb of wtf right in front of my rack. Which now, in turn leaving my empty slot beneath my Denon AVR-X6500H receiver (the one time I was only ever glad of not buying sepearates, to do double duty, looking sad and lonely. So, I woke up for no reason at all at 4am in the morn. Straight out of a dream about it, with an idea that I would dedicate $2000.00 worth of my time, posting OVER/UNDER/BESIDE (any & every) advertisement ads and/or ad platforms, that I could find that they use for their company as whole! Pissed isn't a word articulate enough to describe how I had felt. I was hurt. And being hurt is a lot worse. (I even took the time to research, all the locations of where and what platforms they use, for spending their advertisement dollars). This mission started at 4am and just as I was getting things cranking. The President of Emotiva emailed me @ 2:30pm that same day, and said, "If you drop the Amp off, we'd be happy to fix it. In return we only ask, that you take down the posts everywhere, stating we dont honor our warranty's.) As it turned out, another newer-ish star of RU-vid in the category of" Home Audio/Theater entertainment" whom goes by the name, "Youthman" had also read, my intentionally placed posts. He too responded to my accusatory statement, although not quite as tursely put as you. Asking me what was going on. Being a portal for Emotiva for reviews himself, immediately let Emotiva know what I was out to achieve and why. So, you just happened onto one, of the thousand I missed, that I agreed to take down. Wasn't out to explain myself, silly. I was out to cost more to them than what it would cost to of just fixed my Amp. THAT WAS UNDER WARRANTY! With a receipt! But I guess I was missing a piece of paper they said I needed/you need, that I'm sure I garbaged. I'll be sure to save this onto word document, just in case another person "doesn't ask me what i mean, or if could explain my statement", as yourself did. That was so kindly and educated sounding as your own commentary. I was on a mission of cut and paste as fast as I could! With Reasons that ended in results. And you? What might be your excuse? Your statement now sounding like a person of possible unformentioned inadequacies. They might just be impairing you with everyday, interpersonal skills that prevent you from achieving what your goals or dreams... could be? I know I don't know you, just as you, me. Obviously.. @@TechinaSec101 Thats a little bit confusing. Class A/B do have toroids but these amps are class H which do not have toroids.

Emotivas claims of Class A/B are misleading ,they have Class H power supply while running A/B bias ,they sound excellent but build quality and quality control arent up to par ,Bob Carver dissolved his relationship with Emotiva due to serious problems with quality control ,as the owmer of $5,000 worth of Emotivas XPR-1 1,000 watt @8 ohm or 1,750 watt @4 ohm monoblocks and their XPR-2 600 wpc @8 ohm or 1,000 wpc @4 ohm 2 channel amp that are paperweights i highly recommend skipping what you think is bang for the buck and purchasing other Amplifiers whos manufacturer wont decide the gear you spent thousands on will no longer be supported for factory repairs at customer cost because the amps are big & heavy ,read the Emotiva forum threads and read how Lonnie from Emotiva blows off those of us who bought the most expensive and powerfull amps Emo ever made,i will NEVER buy emotiva anything again .
