pretty sure that was the point. the dominators could easily just been made to fire lethal darts that could kill humans in a non-violent way, but they instead made it comically brutal to drive home the fact that the Sybil System is a satire of the "ideal" utopia usually shown science fiction stories. Makishima even says this himself when he's talking about the "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" book
Lol, these guys put anyone under stress in jail and brutally kill people who are depressed even though they may not have committed a crime. It would be stressful to not get stressed.
It is the gun that chooses whether they can shoot, all they do is pull the trigger. People are scrutinized, sentenced on the spot, they are either neutralized and go to therapy in isolation or are put down right there and then. That is pretty quick law enforcement if you ask me.
@@zuser as funny as that sounds,Dominator scan people automatically. Kinda crazy people just deemed the person in front of them as deserved to die based on the evaluation of a super computer.
+Emnasty63 You got to ask though, that was the police security enforcement model. In season 2 they introduce an rifle version that can shoot through walls. Now if all that firepower was simply for law enforcement, how powerful is the full on military version? Like one for actual soldiers and scalable for tanks and such.
HEIL GRAMMAR HITLER! There are drone versions but they aren't really that much more powerful than the handheld version and are still used more for law enforcement more than anything.
I'd say the largest difference between the handheld version and something like a drone with dominator tech would be energy capacity. The handheld Dominator can only fire Destroy Decomposer, the most powerful mode, thrice. I'd imagine tanks and drones with their substantially larger size could house a higher capacity power source and use the Destroy Decomposer mode far more extensively and therefore be more destructive and powerful.
He did the full heroic death at least though. The entirety of Episode 16 is quite possibly one of the best singular episodes I've ever seen in any series at all.
I was curious because I kept seeing videos of this gun in real life but haven't seen anyone actually fire it until now. Apparently it does way more than just transform.
Shuusei's death killed me inside... he was my favorite character :( I legit cried when he died. BTW, if you haven't seen the show, Shuusei is the orange haired guy in the last clip :( soo many tears.
furstenfeldbruck it was so heart breaking! I always thought he was my favorite character the second he was introduced and next thing I know? Boom! He is just dead and I absolutely hate the old robot woman for that!
gosh I LOVE that sound the Dominator makes in the Decomposer Mode, right before shooting * when it all circles around Ko's arm * and when it returns to normal :D
2:03 reason why this part didnt sound as usual decomposer but instead they picked the sound of eliminator, is apparently for presenting human death(says they use the sound of eliminator, whenever theres death by the dominator shot)... which i didnt like as it didnt sound natural

Kagari got the worst death out of all. They freaking used decomposer mode on him. Not even a part of his body was left. All of this for doing nothing wrong.
Because the system is controlled by multiple brains Chief is a robot host/Avatar for the system when it chose to kill Kagari the other brains were disagreeing with the few that wanted to silence him with the end result of the brains that wanted him silenced winning the vote hence the hack part in the gun
@@notautomne it was first he was only supposed to be paralyzed instead but she hacked into the system (since she is part of Sibyl ) and it turned into lethal eliminater
