No, Elago cover won’t work. I place the flat part of Elago on the iPad magnetic side, it still won’t charge after many times trying. When I remove Elago cover, the Apple Pencil charges flawlessly on IPad. So, I know the Elago cover is the culprit. Despite its “vintage” or cute looks of Elago, I won’t recommend it. Just waste of money
@@VincitDesignCo ordered online after watching this video, they arrived today! It feels good. The only "but" is that my ipad case has some slot to put the pencil (and charge it) and with this grip, it doesn't fit that great. You still can push it and it charges, but the the case cover does t close perfectly
@@LifetimeTravelmates Yea the full sleeve can be a bit finicky. I prefer the grip, but the con to that is trying not to loose it lol. But feeling wise, I like how they both feel on the pencil for drawing.
I just bought the Elago sleeve today and have no issue charging it on 2 of my iPads. Perhaps you have not installed the flat side of the Apple Pencil to the magnetic side of the Elago sleeve? I am totally pleased with my purchase!
Glad it's working for you, but I've tried it every which way, and it's just not sticking. A little bit too much trouble than it's worth I think, unless you purchase a case that can hold the pencil separately.
I've heard of this method, but after a while I think it gets a bit too loose, also they collect dirt pretty easy. I like the silicone grip because it comes with 2, and super easy to clean if you drop it or it gets dirty.
The UpperCase Grip will definitely work for the first gen pencil. The Elago case follows the hexagonal format of the second gen pencil, but I'm sure it would still fit. I don't think they are gen specific.
Agree this Elago cover is useless and waste of money. I owned one and regret spending money on Elago. Elago cover is cute but useless as it doesn’t charge the Apple pencil. Potential buyer, beware.
I owned Elago for Apple Pencil case 2nd generation but still the cover prevent the Apple Pencil (2nd gen) from charging by the IPad. So, no more elago case for me. The Elago manufacturer must back up what they claimed instead of giving exciting marketing video just to entice buyers.

Can't super understand all of what you are saying, but yes, I tried it multiple different ways, frontwards, backwards, upside down, different iPads, etc. Doesn't work. But the case is cool. 👍
