The silicone Apple Pencil nib I like (2B is softest) can be bought on AliExpress - s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DdB... Leather pen tips can be found here www.etsy.com/shop/PencilLovers PenTips pen.tips
I appreciate this overview, Teoh. I did just want to mention, though, that reading reviews of specific products is important. I know of some screw-on silicone tips that damage the spring mechanism in the Apple Pencil, which makes the pencil useless. I also use silicone tip covers that don't fall off even with tilt and love them. So it kind of depends on the specific product. 🙂
Ngl I bought a matte screen protector for my iPad and bought a Huion with a matte protector on it, based on your recommendations from a few years ago, so I am a bit shocked that you have moved on to not using them! Not that artist habits/tools can't change, but it was interesting to see these other options. I am considering the change myself because the matte protector on my iPad is causing some wear and tear issues on the stock Apple Pen nibs. If I decide to ditch the protector I will definitely consider some of these options, so thank for the video as one artist to another!
Great video! Do you think the ones with the black needle tips In the end of the vídeo are more likely the SPen feeling? I really like the SPen feeling like writing on a notebook and I don’t like the hardness is the Apple Pencil feeling like writing on a glass and I hate the tapping sound os the Apple Pencil on the glass... Which Apple Pencil nibs would you recommend as a more SPen feeling like?
All the silicone ones will feel like silicone. S Pen's soft tip isn't really silicone but something else, and is smoother compared to the silicone ones. The black tip is silicone too.
Glass screen protector may affect pen performance. Generally speaking, for writing you want to write fast so (original) plastic tip will write fast with downside being the tapping sound. If you don't want the tapping sound, get the silicone tip but it will write slower since there's more friction.
What would the best one to use in combination with a matte screen protector be, aside from the original one? I'm afraid that the metal one might scratch the screen protector
Apple Pencil tip will just wear off faster since it's writing/drawing on textured surface. There's no need to buy expensive matte screen protector when cheap ones have similar quality. Look for brand SuperShieldz on Amazon, cheap and good.
hey! appreciate your video! just a question tho, does the metal tip match with the point that you place on the screen? mine doesnt.. it have like a small gap between the actual point of the tip and the ipad when it touch.. or sometimes i didnt even put the tip down and the screen sensor it already..
There shouldn't be a gap. However, the Apple Pencil will actually write when the tip is extremely close but not in contact with display. But most people will of course write with contact.
