When a monarchist is asked why royals "deserve" their special status, a good response to republicans would be, "Why do you think politicians deserve more?"
Even the Greeks who invented Democracy, ALL opposed elections. They decided the best method was a lottery to choose representatives at random. In that sense, even the democratic Greeks would of preferred a randomly born monarch over a career politician. What matters is not WHO you choose, but HOW you choose your leaders. A popularity contest, like high school proms, produce the most charismatic and manipulative. Random is the best. Also, Monarchs can be trained to rule correctly from birth.
In Roman times, democracy was delivered by those who have an ongoing concern in society. Those who are productive and those who at the endo of the day have to sustain a society that was built on there work(those who pay taxes). In that sense, at least my vision of a mixed balance of powers should be address in a very ordenate fashion. Monarchy is to look beyond the times. Politicians are elected in every term. That makes the whole difference.
Oh, this is SO funny to show politicians looking so stupid and without the class and style of a Monarch above politics! NONE of these people comes close to being competition with my Sovereign, Queen Elizabeth II for instance. Former monarchies in particular should die of shame to see the contrast and restore constitutional limited monarchy with its impartiality, its style and continuity to represent the ideal of the people. Good job! A good laugh at republicanism. LOL!
I've never lived under the rule of a monarchy so I like having the ability to vote. However, every country is different and have different needs and wants. I'm not against monarchies and I think it is cool in the sense of learning their history. And you are right, politicians here have way too many rights! They are supposed to be civil servants to the people, not the people being servants to them.
