BEST BASE LOCATION! - Episode 2 - Minecraft Modded (New Vault Hunters) 

When another hermit visits your base, you should claim that you built the arch yourself, make them think youve done a ton of grinding.

Your first solo vault and the first spawner spits out a champion polar bear with double resistance.... CRAZY! you did well Beef

Just an FYI you can put those chickens in an animal jar and the Jar in an Animal pen. Then they are all contained cause less lag and are easier to manage. Loving watching you take on this series.

Beef, make sure you assign a keybind to your 'sort inventory' so you can loot easier

Beef, whatever you're doing with the editing & the music in this series is phenomenal!! Really adds to the magic & otherness of modded compared to the vanilla we're more used to, I love it. Can't wait to see what beautiful things you do with that arch ^^

Some Tips: - Your Vault Gear has in pink sometimes "Ability Power". That's the stat that increases the damage of your abilities like the Fireball! - The Polar Bear you were fighting was a Champion. The 2 Shields above it's head told you that the 2 modifiers it had were of the damage reduction variety, which is why it took so long to defeat it - Try to bind the "Sort target inventory" command to a key or something and then immediately sort any vault chest you open so that all stackable items are stacked together. Makes looting those chest much easier! - The Relic Booster Packs have a chance to drop something, but most of them will just be empty. So don't worry about it if you don't get anything from them, that's by design! - Get yourself an Animal Pen and an Animal Jar! You can catch animals into a Jar (the first animal you catch in that Jar determines the type and the appearance). You can place a filled Animal Jar into an Animal Pen! That allows you to consolidate all you animals into a small space while being very server friendly. You can feed the animals in the pen in order to get more of it and you can interact with them (A Bucket used on a Chicken Pen will give you Eggs for example)! And most important of all: - Have fun! :)

If I remember correctly, the wand you got in the first episode had an AoE buff. May work well with the Fire Volley! Also, The Arch is cool generation. I like your idea of hanging buildings.

Look into Animal Jars, and Animal Pens. They make passive mob farms simple. Just shift right click a jar and collect some animals, then place them in the pen. Puts your entire herd inside a single block. Great first vault too Beef. Some tips for navigating the vault, Note the direction your first room is facing(either in chat or mentally) and stick in a straight line, ie always heading north in a north facing vault. That way you know that its south to get home and theres no twist and turns going around in a spiral when time is short. You can also bind inventory sorting(i use scroll wheel click) and makes looting a lot faster. Alternatively theres a button top right of a chest to do it for you

Absolutely impeccable editing on this episode, Beef. The background music added so much to the energy of the episode as well! This might just be my new favourite series of yours following 2021's Life in the Woods and the Hardcore series (may it rest in peace) 💛

You can tame an Elephant with Acacia Blossom, which are dropped when breaking Acacia Leaves :o) gl riding Edward! You can also pick on the shulker and then right clicking items in your inventory to them into the shulker without having to really place it down. You can also bind a hotkey to "Sort Inventory" which makes it more efficient looting chests inside the vault.

You can craft your own Elytra. Make sure you bind the “Sort inventory” function to help speed loot and you can leave a vault whenever you want without penalty even if you don’t complete the task.

You can totally tell Beef is excited. Love it.

Hey Beef, excited to watch you play the pack with the other hermits! You did everything correct with the relic booster packs, they just have a relatively low chance to drop a relic piece (there are multiple sets of 5 pieces that combine into a relic and there are other sources of relic pieces but I'll let you figure out the rest on your own), otherwise they just poof into hot air like the two you used did. Regarding bronze, silver and gold - you can freely convert between them at a 9 to 1 ratio in a normal crafting bench, the same way you'd convert nuggets into ingots, ingots into blocks and back again. Just so you don't end up with stacks upon stacks of bronze that clutter up your chests.

I'd love to see an industrial sort of strut filling in that gap in the west section of the arch. Like a prosthetic gap filler, a structural support, possible like a living space too.

I wonder if you could do an ABBA-rules Vault with someone! I feel like it could work since most (all?) vault items already have a "value". Could be a fun twist

The Arch is an incredible place to build a base, and I can't wait to see what you make out of the area! I can just imagine a bunch of little buildings hanging from it - farms, storage, a workbench area...Super cool find!

Wow... I'm SUPER jealous of your base location, what an amazing bit of generation and a great idea for hanging buildings and building something in that circular gap on the one side. My buddy and I just found a semi decent looking "Mega Village", like Xb and Hypno setup shop in, and we called it a day. Your chosen area is 100% cooler by a long shot... and yes yes yes, in the beginning you commented about the cool biomes, some of them with the right terrain generation look absolutely beautiful!

That was the best intro ever. "I have just murdered something I have never seen before... and it dropped nothing."

Beef! You can click the arrow when you are transferring items from a chest into your inventory. You can shift click an arrow and it will only transfer items that you already have in your inventory as well. Hopefully this helps speed up your vault runs!

Vault enchanter is so boss, not needing all the villagers for enchanting is a good thing to me. Love the modpacks the team chose for VH. Playing this was my first taste in modded and it is so cool exploring it all.

Loving this series beef! I think there’s a Vein Miner perk, comes in handy for caving (and just breaking multiple blocks)

That asteroid has a chest in the very middle with some stuff for applied energisics

btw beef, you can right click on items with your shulker box in your hand and quickly free up a slot or 2 in the vaults. You don't have to put it down all the time if you just need 1 or 2 open spaces

Beef you can right click while holding the shulker to place items inside it, just like the bundles. Look for Animal Jars and Animal Pen. And assign a key to "sort inventory" as comments probably already told you

I want to say that the outer look on the gear can be changed. You want to make sure that what you are swapping out for is better. What it looks like can be changed through the Transmogrification table. You should ask Iskall about it. There might be a quest too tho

The creature you killed at the start is a passive mob that periodically regrows ores on its back that you can mine

Great Video. I just subbed so that I can see whenever you post more Vault Hunters content. The arrow Idea is Brillant, I may start using it even though I normally use a map and move a marker around. I have a couple of tips for you that I have picked up along the way. With the Elephant you can shift + Right click to open the inventory that it is carrying and take out any items that you want. (Free Loot) this may also give you the item that you need to tame the Elephant. You can also catch the elephant in a jar and put it into a mob pen for decoration. I am also getting used to how the vaults are laid out and where the chests are. At 19:42 I think you may have missed a gilded chest... It looks like there were 2 of them on the right side one on top of the other. Once again Great Video and I look forward to seeing more in the future.

The Squirrels can be bred with walnuts and can plant trees for you if they have samplings dropped on the floor for them You did not do anything wrong with the Booster pack, they just have a low chance of dropping something

That's a cool spot for the base! It's been so long since I've seen anyone attempt using vanilla ranged weapons in the vault I forgot it is a valid early game option :D ...and you're another victim of fire volley. It's definitely the most difficult to use fireball option out there.

3:35 I recommend picking at least one level of Vein Mining and Dash, both are very useful in and out of the vaults (like Heal) for all playstyles.

Good news, you can another elephant. Just got to a Savannah biome with a bunch of Acacia Blossoms from Acacia Trees. If it's from the mod I think it is.

Yes! Beef way to be brilliant... I forsee a great player in the works... Honestly seeing Strength and actually picking it is huge. A lot of people are trying out all the spells that hit like wet pool noodles in early game. I personally think besides Heal(2pts) Dash(2pts) and Vein Miner(2pts), the best thing to go for and max out as soon as you can is Strength, it costs only 1 per rank and increases your raw dmg by a lot...

If you want to keep the elephant you need a flower that drops from an acacia tree, feed it and you will get a loyal friend who will stomp on anyone who hurts you, even friends

different chests drop different loot, they're all good, but depending what you're looking for will determine which is most good

I have a method for my vault runs to make sure I know my way back. It's a 3 2 1 idea. It has worked great for me. Basically mark the teleporter with 3 blocks that stand out(I prefer netherrack. Easy to mine and abundant.) Then when You enter a hallway mark it with 2. Then when exiting mark it with 1. When its' time to head back just follow the single blocks all the way back till you get to 3. Where the teleporter is.

That is a great location. I'm partial to Arches and other southern Utah areas, though, so that's right at home, as it were.

GG on your first solo vault Beef you did great! A little unlucky with the double defense polar bear champion at the start but you got him. Also you should look in to getting animal Pens they are cheap and easy lag free way to gather chicken, cows, sheep etc. but also if you ever find an Edward again you could store him in a pen and he would never go away.

So glad you found the arch and decided to make it oyur base! I saw it in Iskall's video and just thought it would be a crime if no one set their base there.

also you can make a sleeping bag to sleep on the road. also you can make an animal pen and animal jar to store and breed all your animals in one block and you dont have to pen them in

I enjoyed the video. Glad to see y'all are doing this. I second to comment about getting animal pens for the animals at your base and a cut down on the lag. It also helps you raise them. Inform them easier. If you find another elephant you can put it in a jar also or in an animal pen. They may sort of become like Batman souvenir items inside the bat cave.

I love the VH series. Don't worry Beef, i also overwhelm by so many thing in this modpack at the start... But u will get better soon, this is just like harder starblight desert right? Maybe vaulting with other Hermits next time, its safer(if u die in vault, party can help bring your body out) n more fun with friends, maybe ask The Ladder Boy, he is quite addicted LOL... Unfortunate Edward despawn cz not tamed...I believe u need Acacia Flower from acacia leaves to tame the elephant... Also that Bear with crown above his head is a Champion Bear (tank build), they are dangerous but if you kill them, they drop very good loot. Can't wait to see more 😁

I'm loving the series! A few tips, there is a way when you open a chest to automatically sort and group all the items, which saves time, I don't know if it's by clicking your mouse middle button
