The 5 or 6 times I've been able to go to Terry Black's - only once did I really have any kind of wait and it was really only maybe 25 minutes in line. Plus, if you go basically right when they open/start serving - it's instant and the meats are probably the best of the day (to me anyway). And while the brisket is incredible, the beef rib is the best on the menu imo. Since it's basically just brisket on the bone. It's literally to die for.
Franklin's has the best flavor - but I agree with you Terry Black's is the best overall experience. If you show up at 10:30am, there's less than a 5 minute wait. Interstellar has the best sides, but a minimum of a 1 hour wait - also you can skip the brisket at Interstellar.
Greetings from Austin! Enjoyed your video! In addition to the places you went to, I would recommend La Barbecue, Stiles Switch, Interstellar. I haven't been to Mickelwaite's, Valentina's, or Leroy and Lewis, but I heard they are great.
Gawd I’m on a diet Jay you’re not helping man 🤣 food all looks amazing to me dude I’d smash the lot ! we don’t really have anywhere where they do this in the Uk as such ..we do tend to BBQ in our gardens in the summer and lasts sometimes 4 days before it rains again and gets cold lol 👍
Great video. Too bad you didn’t try Stiles Switch BBQ it’s a little north than those other places. Franklins is good but You would have loved Stiles Switch. Perfect brisket and the peppered pork ribs are mouth watering. Please make sure to stop by there next time you’re in town. You should try Salt Lick BBQ which is a little ways out of town.
Dang it Jay. I’ve been to all those places. Now I have a hankering for some bbq. I think I’ll have to fire up the Traeger this weekend. Thanks for visiting TX.
Thanks for all the great info in this video. Food looks so good. Makes me want to fly out there just to get some BBQ. Too bad you were not able to try the Beef Rib at Franklins to compare with Terry Blacks. Would be curious which is better of those.
It's been a few years since I was in Texas, only go down there for work conferences. But I did enjoy the foods, especially their BBQ joints. Will need to get back down there soon. If you're ever in Houston, you should do a video of Asian foods, lots of Asian restaurants in that city.
Everything looks mean except for the bread. I would eat it with the King’s Hawaiian sweet rolls 🤙🏼 We have Sunset BBQ here and that’s my combo i like to do.
Great video! Next time maybe skip those sides for more BBQ meat options. The sides aren’t really much to write home about imo. Plus if the Mac n Cheese is the best thing you ate, that’s not really saying much for a joint that’s been in business 90 years! I’ve been to all these places on multiple occasions, save that tummy real estate for the meats!!
Personally I like Micklethwait Craft Meats BBQ. No crazy line and just as good, some say even better than Franklin’s. Either way you can’t go wrong with bbq in Austin.
