I own the UTR45 by Double Eagle and it's an amazing AEG for the price. Pros - Solid build, looks and feels good quality - 1-5 Round programmable burst mode - Excellent performance and accuracy Cons - Lack of mag compatability - Range is average
Back when I was introduced to airsoft 22 years ago there where not this many choices and no budget AEGs. With that being said my first AEG was a Tokyo Marui M4 RIS that shot 280fps out of the box and had a plastic receiver that broke before my first game the gears were junk and stripped the first time a 9.6v battery was plugged into it and this AEG was $400. So airsoft has come a long way over the last 22 years. And yes I still have my original M4 but I have many AEGs now thanks to Evike.
Dude same here! That was my first gun as well. The standard TM M4. I remember they released the "S System" a few years later and everyone thought it was so fuckign cool because it had quad rails 😂
Starting off playing back in the early 2000s, there wasn't much in the way of variety. My first gun was a FAMAS by Cybergun. I still have the thing, though it doesn't work. I'm keeping it original for old times sake. I started with it because at the time, Halo was popular, and looked like the BR, AND having played the original MGS, I knew the FAMAS from that. My current budget/beginner guns are my CYMA AK 02, Specna Edge M4. and ARP9 . They all have been extremely reliable (got the CYMA in j2016/7 from Evike and the Specna in 2019 form you guys as well). I've found them all to be fairly accurate and reliable rifles. The CYMA has a slower trigger response/pull but is still good. That's my only gripe with that. I normally use them when I don't wanna field my Krytac or wanna switch it up.
Specna is the best for beginners, I’d totally recommend one. It’s my main AEG at the moment, although I might get myself a CYMA Sport M14 in the future. Only upgrades I’d say are “necessary” are changing the bucking and nub. CYMA Platinum M4s are also great for beginners.
My first AEG was an LCT LCK74, got it for about 210 ish, total in for it is now about 250 because I had to replace the hopup which was fried out of the box. I love it, had it since 2017 at least and it's still going strong today. Heavy boy though, but accurate, reliable, consistent on the FPS, and my only complaint is that it does like to bite the front tabs off magazines
i just got my first one this week kalashikov ak47 with 9.6v battery and red dot sight, had to spend an hour to jerry rig the battery because it didnt fit really good gun
Specna Arms Edge series is an awesome starting platform. I have the SA-E04 as I love the old school M4A1 style and I was really lucky to pick one up for £209. (Yes I'm in the UK) These work like a dream out the box & I definitely surprised a few experienced vets on the field with how capable the gun was.. PEW PEW. I only recently upgraded to the Krytac REC7, Barrett.. But I will still go back to my SA-E04 from time to time, its a great gun.
Have you done a video just comparing AEG AR models? There are so many to choose from it's overwhelming. It's nice seeing budget friendly options, but I would like something reliable that shoots well and I only have to buy once. I'm thinking about making the switch from paintball to airsoft and your videos are a wealth of knowledge that I appreciate. Keep up the great work!

I've started with a M14 JAE SOCOM, I loved it! now, I got more experience, more trial and error, and 19 years more usage, now I understand WHY my pal told me "get a m16" and my dealer told me "get a mp5" still IMHO a wonderfull starting aeg that have to be at least mentioned it's the G36, funny to use, versatile, upgrade-able and the parts are easy to be found... now I use mostly a bolt action sniper, but when I want some more action I just take out the G36 and give it a go. And to be true, I totally agree on the FN F2000, I just don't understand the hate that almost every softgunner I know have for it!
One of my favorites was the game face Thompson. I got mine for $90 and it was honestly a really reliable AEG. 800 rnd mag, decent battery life, adjustable hop up, the best budget rifle
I got me & my son a, Specna arms Edge MK18 for Xmas, & they seem to be good so far! Granted, mine has only around 1500 rounds through it & his has less than a 1000, pluss, I think they only came with the soft indoor spring but, I can let that slide because neither of us are hardcore Airsofters, just dipping the toes. All in all, for what me & the kid don’t know? I’d buy them again to be honest. I can’t think of a single down side from someone that’s not only a Airsoft beginner, but a shooter of nearly 40 years, apart from maybe the lack of a bolt hold open function, but that is really pushing the Barr. Any who, take care guys, stay safe.
They should be able to hold open the bolt a bit so you can adjust the hopup if you pull the charging handld. My specna arms mk12 spr does this, and my old specna 416 did this
I got a CYMA Galil for about $200 as my first gun because Black Ops and CS. Works fine still. All I needed was for it to shoot bbs without exploding in my hands.
Can’t recommend the f2000 at all. Trigger broke after the selector switch popped off and fired full auto til I unplugged the battery. When I finally fixed it the hop up was truly awful, could barely adjust in either direction and truthfully I don’t even feel like the gearbox was sitting in the right place, it wobbled badly
So far the best quick spring change system is the ICS, its easier to remove 1 receiver pin, swing the receiver open and use an allen to open the spring guide.
Hey evike i never played airsoft and want to but, I'm planning to wait to next year, because I recently moved out, so I'm just getting settled and find a job
I see that the link for the SEMA Platinum M4 links to several guns with different barrel lengths. What is a good length for the price? $247 for 8.5 in w/ a suppressor, $269 for 10 in, $278 for 13 and 14.5 in. I'm considering the speed I can reach with a shorter barrel but also the range with a longer barrel and i'm not sure where the middle ground is
also, would the Edge M4 be a better value for price than the SEMA Platinum M4? **I do expect for the SEMA to be better, but that's because it's more expensive
Anyone know where I can commision an airsoft gun? I'm getting it mostly for novelty purposes but I'm willing to pay the extra sum to get it functioning, I've got one place that might work bookmarked but I won't be making the purchase for a while. For anyone curious, the guns I have in mind are "The Jackal" and "Casull" from Hellsing. When I next go on the field, I'm gonna do so with a bit of style lol.
Those are all different models. They have the same internals, but different externals. "C" means it's part of the "CORE" line of AEG's, which have the features listed on this page: www.evike.com/products/90419/ Any Specna with "E" in the model is part of the "EDGE" series - www.evike.com/products/90455/ Hope this helps! I dont know in what world the featherweight 249 is the best for that price that gun was one of the worst most unreliable gun I owned that broke within a month of me shooting in my back yard and the externals arent that good either. i would not recommend that to anyone unless your hpaing it
There’s literally no reason for the MP5K to be more expensive than all the other budget MP5 options on the website. It requires less materials to make one than it does to make a full sized MP5…🥴
Coming from paintball I don't care about how these look. I just want to know barrel length, fps, magazine capacity. NoNE of those things were mentioned on any of these guns. How am I supposed to decide what to buy now. All the videos seem to be pretending like these have anything to do with the real guns they're replicating. They're plastic bb projecting devices, real gun physics don't apply
I’ve heard that if you’re first twenty times in a row, they’ll give you a gun for free, but you have to figure out what the special code word is, and you have to spell first correctly….
