For those who want to use the medieval iron warrior. Either make a H shape insert to put in the hole behind the lockup features to prevent the button from being pressed. Or unscrew the entire thing and remove the spring so it can't open up on you during Airsoft.
the dye i4 variants (i have the same exact one as Matt displayed) are very form fit, minimalist and comfy. they have ease of looking down an optic with a 1/3 or half riser mount, they never fog up, never cracked, has a surprisingly wide filed of view, a comfortable amount of foam, and is very breathable. the only downside about the dye i4's, in my opinion is that the adjustable clip strap does tend to loosen, but very minimal. (I use it with a tan shemagh with a simple top head wrap around, bandana style) and it never seems to loosen after that. (also if you have a silk or any smoother type of balaclava it tends to slide up and down a lot more) the dye i5 variants are a small amount more expensive, but I believe is worth the purchase, very similar to the i4's although it has a bit of a larger frame, has a crank style adjustable strap on the back, unlike the dye i4's that only have clip adjusters. it has more dense, padded two stage foam that is more comfortable to the skin, and has a well over enough field of view. only downside is that it's a bit larger then the i4's, being a bit more firm with the cheek flexibility, and having a more difficult time aligning your optic and getting a clear sight picture.
@@fischerb3829 from what I know so far, i4’s have a slimmer and more flexible chin frame so it would work best with either a low ak stock, or a slim magpull m4 style stock. It is still a little difficult to aim down irons, so I recommend a 20-30mm red dot with at least a low riser mount. I5’s are slightly wider and more firm in the frame so I recommend free balling your bbs if you use an i5.. basically yes, but with extra steps lol
Asg full-seal eye-pro: $15 6mm pro shop mask: $12.75. Total cost: about $30 after adding taxes and shipping. Works like a charm and you aren't blowing triple digits on flashy/name brand designs like getting a dye or Oakley's. (I didn't realize just how expensive dye masks were, bruh.wav)
After wearing a little bit of all of them, I’ve personally decided to just wear a balaclava or multi wrap. Having cloth over your face will stop bbs from potentially knocking a tooth out. Googles just work, especially when wrapped over a bump helmet.
Jet has always seemed like a very passive aggressive person. And I do think he is kinda of a toxic player but that’s one thing I won’t hate on him for. That other kid knew the risk of playing this game without a face mask. And I’m in the heat of the moment it can be difficult to focus on exactly where you aiming especially when it’s as close as they were. The kid could have used anything other then the air around him to cover his mouth and I bet 100% he wouldn’t have lost his teeth.
Gaurd dogs I personally prefer the version 1 because the two separate lenses makes the goggles have less bulk in the middle giving my big ole nose more room. The version 2s(one big lense) put too much pressure on my nose and cuts off my airway 🤷
If your willing to spend a little bit of money. I would recommend the Revision locust goggles. They come with an insert that goes on the inside of the goggles that are meant for getting fitted with prescription lenses.
I have the #11 Medieval Iron Warrior helmet. It looks awesome and it does the job. The only down fall of it is when you open it, it gets tricky to close it. It's a bit on the bulkier side. And the package does come with a plastic glass-like replacement.
Just as a recommendation from a paintball player I would recommend JT pro flex frames that come in all kinds of colors and have a lot of different lens choices
I know this is old, but I'm coming in to second this. I've literally tried to fog them up or create condensation by breathing heavily on the lens, and they are literally crystal clear still. Absolutely phenomenal
my first time airsofting i was 12 at the time i didnt know the safety regs and my friends all told me id be fine one automatic m4 later well i got a nice good set of fake teeth in my mouth always have some kind of mouth protection XD 10$ is better than 10,000 dollars
Matt keeps touching the lenses......😡triggered I fog any and all eyepro . What I have found that is 100% for me is .. 1. Regular ole sweat band for ma foe head. 2. Dawn dish soap. Couple drop on you fingee and swirl it around till it tacks up. Then buff dry with a Norwex or other super high quality cloth. Last two games where in Minnesota, ultra high dew points , high humidity in the forest.....no fogging . I was running valken double pane thermal goggles.
I have one that is very similar to the shadow warrior mesh mask / balaclava combo. In recent times I almost exclusively play CQB and I keep getting hit in the forehead :D Yesterday I had it on with a small cap and someone managed to shoot between my glasses and my hat so now I have a lovely scar. I am thinking about switching to a paintball mask so that I could peak more "freely" and not be scared of getting shot in the face with a shotgun. But most of them can not be worn together with a helmet so I am in a bit of a tight spot right now :/
Why? The actual testing of mesh has shown, constantly, that there is almost no risk from BB fragments causing eye damage. To go to the science, the energy from the BB is dissipated upon impact, leaving almost nothing for any fragments to then move into your eye. It's akin to getting dust in your eye, so hardly sight-threatening. For my own experience, I've used mesh in airsoft for over 20 years and although I've felt shattered BB debris on my face and in my eye, it's never been more than an inconvenience, whilst I wipe it out. The benefit of not having to deal with fog is well worth the payoff. For the record, I'd lose my job if my vision was impaired, so I've looked into this seriously. In short, I think I know my shit, so just putting a blanket statement out that suggests mesh is dangerous is simply crap advice.
If you're gonna go for drip you can wear a riot helmet with some glasses or goggles underneath, or a gas mask with outserts, but it might restrict your breathing a bit (not a bad thing if you're doing airsoft for exercise)
On your website is the Matrix Lurker mask. It does not list an ANZI rating. There's no review videos on RU-vid. I think it's a cool mask and want to buy one but I don't want to lose an eye. Is it safe to use in gameplay?
Wondering about the Empire EVS. I can't find anywhere that states it is ANSI rated as stated in video. Any confirmation on this? Also between that and I5, which has the taller profile? I have a long face and want as much lower coverage as possible. Thanks
I want to run a WW2 inspired airsoft outfit but I might have to modernize it for airsoft just to comply to safety rules at Xtreme paintball/airsoft in Springfield Massachusetts.
My front left tooth is 2/3rds fake. Dropped my lower mouth mesh for a few minutes, and a solo sniper bb got my ass. Keep your stuff on, learn from my mistake
If you are as blind as i am allready ESS sell an optical Lens carrier that will fit into either Ess or Oakley goggles /shooting glasses ... also the ESS Gasket is a better option than the Oakley Halo ... i have gone through about 10 diferent options trying to ffine the right thing for me without out going to a Warq (tho the three guys in our club that use Warq do think they are bloody amazing my current setup is fast helmet with either ESS Profile Pivot Ballistic Goggle or the ESS crossbow and gasket setup with the Ess universal prescription insert (its a simple task to swap the UR-X from the profile to the crossbow ) then i have eararmor M32 with helmet rail adaptor and throat mike and my Mesh and padding face pro (that i have addapted to clip to the helmet rails) all of this stuff (except the crossbow ) attaches to the helmet rails tho i cant fit anything else on the rails
Has anyone with glasses looked into the Matrix Tactical Helmet? I'm trying to run a dystopian cyberpunk themed build featuring LED sticker strips, techwear clothing (Modified Black BDUs) and futuristic looking chest rig and leg holster, and I'm looking for a good helmet to run. With my current build I am wearing a pair of Guard Dogs V1, a standard black fast helmet, and an iron warrior half face mask.
hi im new to airsoft and i brought a lancer tactical gen3 and im planning to upgrade it to have a higher rps to about 27 rps or higher while maintaning 390 to 400 fps what should i do
Has the Medieval helmet been updated? when i purchased mine it didnt say anything about the replacement face sheild being anz rated and the comment section of it led me to also believe it wasnt.
That's just not true, at all. The Rothco OTG's are the most comfortable piece of eye pro I've ever worn, both airsoft and real steel, and while they can be a pain to adjust sometimes, it's well worth it. Also, remove the filters from all four sides (just push them out with your finger) and you'll have INSANE air flow. I play in a CQB field in Missouri, it gets up to 105-110 degrees inside the field and I've NEVER had a fogging issue with the Rothco's.
@@totallymirage9513 How safe are they? I ordered a pair, and I am very nervous. It is my first time playing airsoft, so I wanted to get a good pair. Are they very safe?
It mainly depends on how much you're willing to spend, as well as in what other gear you might want. In general, a paintball mask is a very good option if you want full face protection. They're easy to put on, can be fairly cheap for what you get, and gives hard protection for your whole face. But they are known to be incompatible with most kinds of helmets, so if you want a helmet you'll need something more low-profile. The goggle and mesh mask combo is the cheapest full protection available as far as I know. It's what I use, and what you'll see a lot of airsoft youtubers use as well. One of the main advantages is that a mesh mask doesn't stick out from your chin and so won't get in the way of aiming down sights, which is a big issue with a lot of full-face headgear. Speaking of cost: do note that there are many cheaper options than what's listed here that are still reputable and reliable. Once you go over, say, 20-30 dollars for goggles, what you're really paying for is the comfort, the anti-fog as well as various other features such as swappable lenses. But any goggles can be anti-fog treated, so you don't really need to go premium if you don't want to. Anyway, hope this helps.
Don’t. It’s awful, absolute waste of money unless you do cosplay or a cool shelf piece. It’s completely impractical for real Airsoft and most fields won’t even let you use it
@@benjaminhinson3780 full face options are honestly pretty crappy. I know Matt brought them up in this video but that only because they exist. They’re not practical. There’s a reason why they’re “unique” and that’s just because no one wants to use them because they suck. I posted another comment on this video giving my top recommendation for face protection which is a helmet/goggle/mesh mask combo. It’s the most comfortable and it never fogs. Trust me, I tried buying one of these cool looking options and they’re really more props than they are practical. They are a nightmare to actually play with because you literally cannot use your gun properly with them. Sometimes you just have to learn for yourself, but I’m telling you, any mask that has a molded cheek weld is not practical. This goes for full masks like the iron warrior, the full face mesh, the fiberglass masks, even the half face mesh masks. The best option is the soft cheek mesh masks with goggles like he showed in this video. Also not to mention in all the full face masks, the lenses fog up really easy. Look for my other comment for a full break down. But what I use are the matrix GX-1000 goggles ($30) (they’re slim and have interchangeable lenses and they have never fogged on me, not even once) with a matrix soft cheek mesh masks ($12) and literally any type of FAST/bump style helmet (around $40) but you don’t even need a helmet. Also, wear a headband to keep the sweat from getting into the goggles seal to prevent sweating. I’m telling you, this is the absolute best combo for playing. It’s functional, practical, comfortable, you can shoulder your gun, and it doesn’t fog. I hope this helps. Ps if you see any kind of cool or unique looking mask, like I said before, there’s a reason why they’re unique and you don’t see them very often. You might think it’ll make you look cool, but if they looked cool and they were actually good and functional, everyone would use them. There’s a reason why people don’t use them. Hope this helps!
@@benjaminhinson3780 if you really want a full face style mask. Get one of the Dye masks like in the video. The problem is they’re they’re expensive. Like I’m the video around $140. The goggles and mask that I showed you is $42 combined, with a helmet It’s about $82 but honestly you can probably find it all on Amazon for even cheaper. I just don’t want you to waste money on one of those “unique” full face masks and then not have fun playing because it fogs up and you can’t aim your gun.

There's generally just not any point having mesh goggles. As said in the video, no kind of mesh works as reliable eye protection due to bb shrapnel being able to fly through. Also, having paint from mesh masks blown into your mouth from the impact isn't unheard of. So, even if you wear mesh goggles you still have to wear regular protective goggles underneath those goggles. Correct me if I'm missing something, but that kinda defeats the purpose.
I personaly dont use face protection. I have a multicam face mask with Iron mesh sown into it to protect my teeth, when playing airsoft i need my cheek on my budstock and with a face mask this is not possible
When you first start playing just get goggles and a mesh mask and save your money for m-frames. I just played my first game in m-frames and omg idk why I waited so long to buy them. I played at night when it was very humid and had no fog while everyone else was struggling to see. It’s literally pay to win 😂
Because you spend $150 that lasts you your entire time of playing airsoft instead of spending $60 on the goggles, $15 on the lower face, $80 in fog solutions, then a constant cost of anti fog solutions after that because it's not a one and done deal.
@Wayward Airsoft I have that and now a weird rubber guard that covers my nose and mouse. It's supposed to give shape to masks but works great for airsoft
